  • A walk through time with Phyllis Hyman. A small tribute from a PH latecomer. My intent was to show her at different facets of her life and career. She should be remembered.

This song was so very masterfully done! As always with Phyllis! Her eyes tell a story all by itself! Her voice was so hypnotizing and so smooth and subtle! There will never be another Phyllis Hyman and no one will be able to imitate nor duplicate the likes of Phyllis Hyman ever!!!! You are so greatly and so deeply missed! RIH Phyllis!❤

What a worldly woman. Phyllis Hyman voice is like no other she's. She's a piece of work from the artistic nest of a mom. Blessed, and I'm humble to have known her. When I lived in New York I listen to a music all the time even now, and it's 2024. And it's still like a haunty meload. The captures me every song every lyric. It just captures me.
Rest in peace Phyllis. I love you spirit. I love you very being. I love that you're in heaven.
We still love you on earth😅❤

Love me some Phyllis Hyman, she was my idol, when she was here. Went to see her twice. Once at the Arie Crown, I'm in Chicago, then I saw her again at place call George's which was a small setting. I'll never forget her, we went to a after set after the concert at George's not far from where I live now. I got her autograph. Beautiful lady, with a wonderful voice, sorry she didn't get all the recognition she deserved when she was alive. She learned the business, and they black balled her. She will always be one of the great one's to me along with Whitney! RIP songbirds! Gone never forgotten.

This video should be use in our soon to come Resurrecting Phyllis Hyman campaign. The song accompanied with the video give the haunting feeling that PH is calling from the grave, Remember Me.
Sending light and love that your creative energies will continue to expand.
When PH fans developed the movie (yes it will have to come from us). We're going to need cinematographers. Get ready.

Those songs that she did on that album were great, absolutely great. When I started listening to her, those were the first ones that got me hooked. What I wouldn't give to have a 10th of her talent, I would be dangerous.

I clicked on the video for the song. Then I couldn't help but notice that you captured some of my favorite photos of Phyllis here. Living In Confusion wasn't at the top of my list but I always had to pause the video for that yellow outfit and expression (1:32) - stunning! Then, THEN you included a pic I took of Phyllis in her dressing room at the Blue Note/NYC. Probably cropped me out but that's ok. ;)

@michigan21 Yeah, Stanley tore the upright bass up. He played on an earlier album of McCoy's called Together around 1977 or 78".

She away want that special person in her life and everyone have different opinions about some else life until you walk in there shoes and yes I remember her and her two sons and she was a treacher who wanted for us to go fathers. Others people laugh our not the same because people sometime thank you looking down on them or the color of your skin, I thought by now this have changed by now.
