      Zach Cline It's better at some things, and that for you may make it a better device, you have a right to your opinion.... But with the removal of features it is not a better all-around device... These are things that people, like me, are pissed off about and these people have a right to be pissed off.

    Finally, A man with solutions. Most Note 5 videos are just pointing out the problems and complaining about it. The videos made me feel like I messed up and I should have done more research before making this purchase. Which I probubly should have : ) Im sure a lot of people watch the videos and decided the Note 5 is a purchase they will not be happy with. Hopefully, people like me who already bought the phone or want to buy a Note 5 will find your video. These are all great solutions.

    Never knew about the micro SD card reader, that's a huge life saver. I got 100 free gigs on one drive with my Note 5 but it's just not the same as having them on a memory card. Thanks for the awesome tip

      mario rosel Why? all you have to do is backup your files there's no use for an sd card when your phone is literally an SD card it's self as it can transfer files in seconds to any other phone computer or tablet.

My Note 3 finally failed and after getting the Note 5 I figured I'd just end up moving pics, vids, and music on and off to suit my needs. Some of your solutions are fantastic. Great job! Just installed a second off-site Western Digital Personal Cloud because I'm one of those that doesn't want my data, whatever it is, somewhere else. +Andre Rivers I also have the Note edge... And I am really attracted by the new features in the Note 5, especially by using usb to put files on it, and save memory.... BUT... I still feel too attached to the Note Edge... And I do use the Edge a lot, much more than what I was thinking when i first bought it, I don't think that going back to a phone without edge would be possible for me, i just love my phone too much... T_T maybe I will buy a second phone, and use both ...

      Don't do it. The 5 has no infrared blaster. Just think, you get home, your exhausted from work and just want to relax in front of the tube but you can't find the remote. Better yet, the batteries are dead. Oh, no... No fear, 4 is here with the IR blaster to control any name brand TV, speaker and gadget in the universe. Plus, Zerolemon 10,000mAh battery will keep it going for days, days, days... Did I mention days before recharging. Camera is still 16MP, no change there, screen size still 5.7" so why pay more for the dumber device when both software are similar. Are you superman or the flash and notice half of a fraction speed difference in performance?
      So why buy the 5 when the 4 does more.

I have multiple tiny USB sticks that plug into my Note 4. and I love my ir blaster and I have multiple batteries along with wireless charging and memory cards so I just Can NOT see switching to any phone without those options. and that edge is so gorgeous.

    I think you'll be suprised how many people used the IR blaster. Pretty much anyone with a samsung TV or bluray player used it. It was a very useful feature when you couldn't be arsed looking for the remote or ran out of batteries or whatever, The IR blaster app was actually a excellent app by samsung to go with it (could be used from lockscreen). Really pissed that Samsung removed it.

      I always use ir blaster, as exemple I want to my aunt cottage this summer, she has the TV controler but she lost the stereo and the DVD controler, noo problem note 4 to the rescue and this is just a useful situation but in a normal day I use it a dinner table to lower the volume and other thing, it is so nice to have it... I'm also pist off that they remove it

    Oddly enough the IR blaster was something I used frequently on my previous Note 3, with kids leaving the front room TV on, volume too loud, where did the remote go? As far as battery life, I have no issues. I keep the auto brightness checked, and use a less bright wallpaper. I purchased the base 32 GB Note 5, and have yet to have any problems with storage. If you transfer your pictures and other excess media to your PC occasionally it helps free space. I even have several large games installed. I hate bulky cases too, especially on a already large phone. I'm currently using the Spigen rugged armor case, it's very slim, and is high quality like all Spigen products, check it out, I think you'll like it!

    Nice video. The Note 5 is great. None of the issues affect me as I'm a cloud user, also get a full day from the battery. But that dash microsd device is very good. Have never used a power save option but it's good to have. I don't like skins, it destroys the look, makes a premium phone look like a cheap one. I use a clear back cover like Neo Hybrid or Versus. It provides protection but keeps the premium look. Thanks for the video. Nice channel... Subscribed!

    This is a great video , you sir have a new subscriber! Was worried about the Note 5 lack of microSD card support , the Dash Micro SD card is a great alternative! Downgrading from the Note 7 to the Note 5 until the either s8 or New Note series debuts in 2017!

    • @ta-shunanderson5444

      Losbass how much nicer was the 7 compared to the 5?

    • @Losbass
      @Losbass 7 років тому +1

      Well, the Iris scanner was nice! and the edge display , along with the sd card. And the note 7 photos came out really nice in low light. and I loved that private folder feature. But even aside from that, the Note 5 is a great alternative to note 7 in comparison with the S7 edge because it has the stylus and pictures are still awesome on the Note 5 , plus with the Exynos chip with 8 cores. the Note 5 seems even more snappier than the Note 7 . Grace UX is coming to the Note 5 soon , so that's a bonus which will make it feel very similar to the Note 7. Basically I don't miss the 7 as much as I thought I would have.

    • @ta-shunanderson5444
      @ta-shunanderson5444 7 років тому

      Losbass I haven't heard of Grace UX. I heard it was rumored that the Note 5 would be getting some of the software updates from the Note 7. Is that what Grace is? I had the 4 and moved to the 5 shortly after the 7 was released and was looking forward to the 7 but you know what happened there lol

    • @Losbass
      @Losbass 7 років тому +1

      Yes , the Grace Ux , was what was running on the Note 7 , well I'm sure the S8 will be awesome as well as the S8 Plus , have a read here : www.gsmarena.com/6inch_samsung_galaxy_s8_plus_is_on_the_way_alongside_5inch_s8-news-22345.php

    Great solutions on the "unlimited photos". You should also mention the setting to Free Up Space by deleting photos from the local device that have already been backed up to the cloud.
    I don't know if you have posted a vid, but you should address the S Pen popping out every time the phone is dropped. Before kids I would have said, easy solution "don't drop your phone" but after kids and age, dropping the phone is inevitable. That being said, I'd like to see some recommendations on Cases that offer a flap to cover the S Pen.
    I realize the intent is for the S Pen to be easily accessible, but at $40 for replacement, I would rather it be secure.

    HI, Great content! Thanks. A couple of suggestions. Your audio is clean. Nice! Slow down on your delivery. It will aid in the intelligibility. Your cuts are pretty tight, again extending the out a bit will aid in presentation. RE: screensaver. I didn't see the black .jpg or .png image in the phone by default. Is that something you added? Another suggestion for battery saver was disabling Android Device Manager but others chimed in that it disables the ability to find your phone and remotely wipe it. I don't know if that would affect the Cerberus app which performs similarly or not. Good stuff here!

    Thank you for a brilliant, helpful and very professional video! You have set a new high bar for Note 5 videos. And yes, I had been one of the hard sell customers for a Note 5. I felt the lack of interchangeable battery and micro SD card were deal breakers until I tried the phone for a week. With your common sense suggestions and solutions the Note 5 surpasses the Note 4 by a healthy margin even without the battery/SD card features. One additional comment , with the glass back I feel that a protective case is a must, I went with the Tech 21 case with its built in shock absorbing compound I am confident that my Note 5 will be as safe as all of my previous Galaxy phones have been while ensconced in Tech 21 cases - they are superb offering great grip and protection.

    That was very helpful, I have the note 5 and my only "issue" was the extra storage, so I like that idea with the little Keychain thing. Also, with the music, there is lots of music apps that I use. Spotify is a good one and has all my music that I can listen to whenever I want with replay, rewind and fast forward options. Sure it's costly but I save on downloads to my phone anyway. Thanks for the tips!

    Its 2017--I've had my Note 5 since May 2015. I Still Love It. It is my mini computer. It is my on-the-go-data-control. Don't even want to upgrade bc the grass can't be greener than this. She needs some to--finally cracked the back a few weeks ago, and the battery is losing stamina. But like I said, she is almost a year and a half old with unrelenting use. Note 5 was worth every penny. 🌞

    I just got a Note 5 yesterday, and I gotta say... The first thing I missed was the IR blaster. At home I have remotes, but it is nice to be able to take over the TV when I go to a friend's house if they have misplaced their remote. I also thought about the occasional lock-ups I had on my Note 4. When the power button becomes unresponsive, what am I supposed ro do now that I can't pop the back off and pull the battery? The adaptor for the micro-SD card is a great idea, but that is one more thing I now have to buy.
    I would have kept the Note 4, but it started to have major battery issues and Verizon isn't stocking the batteries anymore, and Samsung wanted me to ship them my battery BEFORE sending me a replacement! How am I supposed to use my phone while I wait for THAT???
    I have two weeks to decide if I am keeping this thing, and to be honest... I am thinking I'll end up back in the Apple ecosystem.

    +Techisode TV Those are some great solutions, which I already knew about. But no solution for the IR blaster, you mentioned harmon kardon for your home. But when you want to cut down the volume on a tv in noisy bar or restaurant, you wouldn't have that option. Also if I want wireless charging I can just add it, also when the battery dies in the note 5 how much money are you going have fork over to replace it. I'll just go amazon and get a replacement. That being said, I weighed the pro's and cons of both and decided to get a note 4 instead. Great video, thanks.

    good stuff man. question: what do you think about everyone complaining about the aggressive app closing on the note 5. some say its a huge deal breaker not being able to keep more than 4 apps open at a time. some people say its stupid because youll never even notice it.

    • @TechisodeTV
      @TechisodeTV  9 років тому

      I have mixed feelings about it. Most of the time I don't notice any issues, but I'll occasionally have to reload a Web page which can get annoying if I'm on a really slow Internet connection. I haven't noticed the issue with any other app mainly because they open so fast that even if it reloads, the time lost is not annoying. I suppose if I played a lot of games and those kept reloading all the time it would be pretty frustrating because those don't load instantly. I'll open up some games throughout the day and see what happens with those.

    Omg thank you so much! I've been trying to figure out ways to resolve my concerns about memory with the SGN5 and you're a genius (and especially the people who made the external device)! Your tips are fantastic! I was actually thinking of purchasing a My Book external hardrive that is a personal cloud and you may have just saved me some cash. I had pretty much resolved myself to the idea of portable battery so I'm glad to see it there. I have an SG4 and due an upgrade and I've been going back and forth with this and was thinking of waiting but now I think I'll finally just buy the thing I've been waiting for. Thank you so much! I have the exact same model as you but it never work when i put the note 5 on it.
    Yes the red light is open.
    Dont work either if the pack is plugged (charging) or unpluged.
    Wire charging work...but the whole point of buying this unit is the wireless capacity...

    I had a Note 4 and have upgraded to a Note 5 and I am quite impressed with the Note 5's battery life. Even though it has a smaller battery than the Note 4, it lasts longer. On my Note 4, I can only get, at most, 10-12 hours with 3-5 hours screen-on time. On my Note 5, I consistently get around 13-15 (sometimes 16) hours with 3-5 hours of screen-on time.
    Anyway, nice video and thanks for the space-saving tips. While I still have plenty of room, I know I'm going to run out of space some time. So again, thanks for the tips!
