Part 1 - Zoo, Marienplatz, Dinastrausse and Weisswurst (GK2 Beast Within Location Tour)

- This is a real life locations tour of the 1995 Sierra PC game - Gabriel Knight II. This was the original tour done back in 2008. It comprises the first two videos (Part 1 and Part 2). Part 1 visits the Hellabraun Zoo in Thalkirchen (Munich), as well as the Marienplatz, Dinastrausse and the Marienplatz 21 (Ubergrau's Office) along with the Weiswurst shop. The later videos from Part 3 onwards were done in 2009 on a second visit to Bavaria and revisit some of the initial locations along with some other new ones.
Why do this? I like the idea of merging past and present, cheesy FMV games and chasing crazy dreams. That about sums it up. - Розваги
You're not a freak, I went to Germany AND New Orleans because of these games and there's lots of us. The only people who think its weird haven't played the games. Plus, Jane Jensen has seen some of these, which is always a plus.
Dude youre my hero! I've played that game many times in the past and always been intrigued by Germany and the locations there. You actually went to some of those spots?! Id love to see the wolf kennel (dont wanna get threatened by the wolf or any "Thomas" around.) Marienplatz in Munchen looks beautiful. Not sure how I feel about the Hunting Club building now a Merkl. Ahhhh that music. I wish so much that I could experience this game again for the first time. And that there would be many more like it. Maybe I'll play through it for like the fifth time at some point...

You are too kind. Loved making these and love to hear peoples thoughts as the years go by. Have got a GK3 Tour that I've never got around to editing as well. One day I'll find some time to get some more of this random hilarity finished! :)

This tour was 2008. I want to do a tour in 2023+ and see what's changed in 15+ years.
Marienplatz 21 is under restoration/reconstruction. Most of the rest is more or less the same, maybe more pdestrian (like Dienerstrasse)!

Thanks :) Will be doing a tour of the third Gabriel Knight game this year so look out for that. Much the same kind of humour used to poke fun at the characters and seek out locations.
Brilliant videos cheers mate. I've played gk 2 about a thousand times I even have the beast within novel that was available and the gk 1 one it must have been so surreal walking through all them familiar locations. I'm also miffed that there's no rittersberg ha ha. Thanks ! Ged R

Rittersberg is actually a nice town called Rothenburg. I went there on the second visit to Bavaria. Awesome place. People often message me to tell me to take the skin off the weisswurst before eating it. I never knew at the time and look even more ridiculous. Thanks for the nice feedback. I love poking fun at the characters whenever possible. Especially Grace. I've got another tour on the way of the third game. Filmed some stupid stuff for that last year. So look for more in future :)

I'm sure there is a Rittersburg, or many of them, somewhere - but it's doubtful any of them go by that name.
I like all the editing yourself into conversations with characters and locations, hold your freak flag high, das ist gut!
