- I reveiw a hinge cut bedding area that I started work on in 2021, and show some of the improvements that is was lacking & how I improved it to be used by deer on a more predictable basis. Bonus trail camera footage after I completed the work!

I cut many pockets like this on my farm. Made a huge difference. I saddle hunt so I made sets on the edge of the henge cuts in range of the cleared trails. Thanks Jake for sharing your success.

Thanks Ryan, Your 100% correct those giving hinge cuts a bad rap have never seen or implemented them as they should be; a tool to increase deer predictablity!
Awesome video. Great to see the progress made. What is meant by "barber chair"?
That's a term hen you hinge a straight grained tree and it slipts way high leaving the tall flat back appearing to be a "barber chair".
When clearing a path through the hinge cuts how wide do they need too be?
Question, do you find your local predators seek these areas out? I have been making new hinge cut bedding areas and the coyote sign is crazy. Even say tracks in the snow up on a waste high tree.
