You have to use this kind of mushroom: "parasol" - different but same tasty than meat. Easy to find in the "Schwammerltime" Autumn.

Austernseitlinge sind auch zu empfehlen und mini Schnitzel aus Schweinefilet sind auch lecker. I sometimes use flavored flour. I put fresh black pepper in the flour and let it sit in a box, to infuse it with the flavor./ noticed too late that I changed language 🙆♂️
Are there Parasol mushrooms in Austria? Totally should try to schnitzel them, it's heavenly!

For anyone not in the know…
Parasol mushrooms are the largest mushrooms we have, they are quite distinct and there is only a garden variety that is poisonous, so very easily to distinguish…
They are as large as a breakfast plate, and wilt extremely fast, so you HAVE TO cook them the day they are collected…
Take flour combined with crushed hazelnut / or add cornflakes to the Semmelbrösel for more taste, prepare like a Schnitzel, or better yet take two and add a slice of Emmentaler cheese and cooked ham and make it a vegetarian cordon bleu….and it‘ll keep you fed for a good month.
I am poor due to a work accident and I love Parasol season….very frugal

I'm Vietnamese and here we have a deep fry banana snack/street food dish, named "Bánh chuối"
Bánh is a general term for food made from flour (bread, pie, cake, .. .)

it's sweet, crunchy, it's nutty from the black sesame seed in the batter,
when it's fresh it's heavenly
I like eating it with some hot sauce too
Ein gutes Schnitzel, das ist, das muss man schon sagen, das ist was, das muss man sich einfach hin und wieder gönnen.
I make Schnitzel in the oven and I actually salt and pepper the oil that I dab them with. It's unorthodox, but works well.

I used to do that alot with Zuchini and Melanzani and it tastes great, even cold. Good Job, except the Gummischlangen. Ich glaub der Grund warum das Schnitzel essen zurück geht ist, weil heute leider nicht mehr viele wissen wie es richtig gemacht wird und daher bekommt man oft so labbrige Lappen, anstatt ein Schnitzel.
Mir gefällt der Ausdruck Panierstrasse.🤣Hab ich noch nie gehört und ich mach Schnitzel seit 45 Joar. Wie es schon mei Oma gmocht hot. Wo ist des Bier??? Oje ohne Bier?

I don't think things like Chicken nuggets or fish sticks are an endengered species. People like this bread/egg-baked taste. You just proof, the inside is rather unimportant, it tastes for the outside only anyway. And Schnitzel you even get in every bakery on a sandwich, it became such a mass product, maybe it's loosing the rank of a high quality sunday dish. It's too common.
