Wow, in the first 2:50 that '92 lopes slow like the Torqueflite funny cars at Lions in the 60s. I know the big show and nostalgia fueler sounds and idles (1984-86 Miller All Stars!), but this one took me back to the night meets on 223rd.
About two and a half months ago I drove to Ocala from Mississippi. I went on a private tour of Don's collection for $100 highly recommended if you're in the area call ahead he only does it once or twice a week. I told him I was mutual friends with a man named Paul vanderly who has passed away Mr vanderly is in the hot rod Hall of Fame. Garlic use to come through Mississippi and spend the night at Paul's house with Don's wife and children. Drive to Texas go to a dealership change the gears in the rear end drag race all weekend go back change the gears back to Street gears. Stop at Paul vanderley's house and drive back to Florida years ago. Vanderly for a while on swamp rat 3. And did match racing and split the money with Mr garlic. Anyways the point of my story is Mr garlits gave me about 15 minutes at the end of the tour when everyone else had left. I'm sure it's because of Mr vanderly. Mr garlits told me how to set up Stromberg 97 carburetors for nitro methane for my 440. That's what they use back in the 50s. Yes the man is just as nice anyone possibly could be. He is a true legend. God bless these old men who paved the way for the young ones. I'm very privileged to have met both men.

Great story. If I'm not mistaken it was emery cook of cook and bedwell fame that showed don how to run over 25% nitro with Stromberg.
