I think with this game, you will def come across a few immature griefers but for the majority everyone has been very kind and mature. I like the community in MO2. We need more RP guilds! I just may have to make one

More RP guilds would be great, this game is perfect for it. 👍

In my estimation, one griefer can easily scare off a dozen players (including the scared away ones, who never even try the game), while a helpful player can keep one or two other players in the game.
The game is demanding enough with its obscure crafting system, no map and other challenges. (challenges are *really good* features for a game)
Fighting must be practised (with mouse and keyboard) for a while, before you are a match for an experienced player.
I think, it is the duty of any other player, to kick griefers off game as soon as possible. That is one player lost, but a dozen players kept.
But that is just my opinion. Maybe because I am to clumsy with my mouse. 😕

In the /help-chat Beregdun complains, that he ended up in GK (and promptly was killed), but had no warning hint at all.
SV spent a lot, really *a lot* of energy in designing monuments and fishes. They could have made the teleporting statue from haven to GK stained in spilled blood. So there would be a hint and any player could investigate and ask: "why this?"
Unfortunately it seems, SV produces a paradise for PvP-players and are not aware, that there are other-minded players with different needs.

Putting bloodstains on statues leading to Gaul'kor and Kanesh is a good idea, I'll make a suggestion for that on the MO2 forums. Thanks. 👍

I actually fell through that bridge some time back when I tried to cross it but didn't follow the vertical log. As we often say, with many deviously designed MO2 landmarks made by SV, it's "Working as intended". 😉

What's been your favorite race/build do far? I'm going Blainn atm and trying a MA/Footie build. Just started but liking it so far. Was tempted to go Alvarin as the speed seemed enticing. Maybe with the weakshot fix they will be better now

I do like the full Tindremene ancestry so I may reroll on launch day so I can play more as a light skirmisher with defensive magic and archery. Though I am somewhat jealous of the Alvarin's night sight and fall damage mitigation clade abilities. 🙂

I love a lot about this game and what it has to offer I could see myself playing for years to come but I hope eventually it’s optimized to a point where you aren’t constantly getting random frame drops/stuttering issues and bugs constantly! As well as the layout system for keeps or houses to be more easily accessible to build on. That’s probably the biggest turn off for me? I just want a SMOOTH experience while playing, if I had to wait another year or 2 without them adding a single thing after launch just to only work on optimization issues I’d be 100% okay with that and I’m sure everyone else would be to!

    • @finegamingconnoisseur

The devs will be dedicating the month of January 2022 to final polishing before full release later in the same month.
The random frame drops could be due to the game having to load new areas or nearby player data. It appears to be inevitable due to the un-instanced open world nature of the game.
It's also worth making sure that the PC exceeds the minimum requirements and runs the game on SSD:
      MINIMUM:
Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
      OS: Windows 7/8.1/10 (64-bit versions)
Processor: AMD FX-6100/Intel i3-3220 or Equivalent
      Memory: 16 GB RAM
Graphics: AMD Radeon HD 7750, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650 or Equivalent
      DirectX: Version 11
      Network: Broadband Internet connection
      Storage: 90 GB available space
      RECOMMENDED:
Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
      OS: Windows 7/8.1/10 (64-bit versions)
Processor: AMD Ryzen 7 1700/Intel i7-6700K or Equivalent

@@finegamingconnoisseur thank you for your response that makes me feel a lot more optimistic about things! My current rig is i7 9700k cpu / GTX 1070 8gb gpu / 32gb ddr4 ram so I should be good. I do have the game installed on my HDD though so maybe it’ll help a lot to if I reinstall on my SSD? I always felt it was just my rig but after talking to a few people it’s not just me experiencing some of these issues so that’s nice to know!

Sadly I don't agree on your definition of "griefing" and "toxidity". Just because game mechanics allows you to do something, it is not necessarily an acceptable behavior.
MO was allways made as a full PvP-game. Ok. If you get robbed, while transporting valuables - that's roleplay. If you get threatened to leave "private property", fine.
Killing you once, mining granum, while naked - well might happen.
Obeying orders and leaving the "private property" but still getting killed is just annoying.
Killing the same player again and again is excluding this player from game.
Worse, it's scaring off a paying customer and makes this player warn everybody else to stay far away from MO.
More worse, it thins out the community until only a handful of players are left - spread out over a gigantic map, where you hardly ever again meet anybody.
There are ways to avoid beeing killed, like shown in this video: pick your way carefully and rush away from potential danger. With the new installed haven, I have hope that players can max their running and escaping skills, before entering the "real" world.
But still, if you collect stone or wood, you are fixed in place and an easy target.
SV could enhance chances to escape by (e.g.) building caverns, that you can only wiggle in, if you don't wear armour and wield no longer weapon than a dagger. Or two trees, where on foot you can just rush through, but a horse gets stuck and a rider gets is legs ripped off. Or fix a rope between such two trees at 2m hight, that will decapitate or at least dismount a rider rushing through at full speed. Or let you kick your opponent, who is in full armour, so that he lies helplessly on the ground like a turtle on the back, while meanwhile you can run a mile away.
Usually PvP players claim, they love the challenge. But beeing challenged to actually catch their prey seems to be unbearable for them.

      Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
I can understand that you don't agree with the notion of complete non-interference from the game when it comes to player behaviour and actions. I was discussing a similar topic on the game's forums yesterday, and this reply that I posted might partly answer why the game devs have taken the stance of non-interference: mortalonline2.com/forums/threads/graveyard-pvp.3771/post-45426
Your suggestions on giving defenseless resource gatherers the means to escape from PKs, or at least a fighting chance, you may be pleased to know that some are already in the game. Like squeezing through between tight spaces that the mounted PK would not fit through, for example. Others, like being able to kick down a plate armoured player, might not make it into the game due to balancing reasons.

@@finegamingconnoisseur Thank you very much for your answer.
Do I understand it right, that you say, the players should police themself against the evil-doers?
How many "law-abiding"-citizens do you need available online, to scare one RPKiller off? Is a rate of 3 to 1 a good number? That is three clumsy fighters against one experienced fighter. Then add the number of players, who try to stay out of any conflict, not to make enemy with anyone. (or just can't do anything, because no equipment available or RL interferes.)
That makes it a ratio of 1:5 or 1:7 griefer against "police"-players.
And there should be a clear statement by the majority of players, that they would not tolerate griefing, because it damages the player-base, the economy and takes the fun out of the game for helpless victims.
      I miss such a statement.
      Like:
You can do anything in this game (except for building moats, traps, ... anything not provided by game-mechanics), you can repetetively fight three different kinds of NPC-opponents, you can fight other players (and loot them), but you should pick worthy opponents and bear in mind, that other players are humans (and paying customers), who don't like beeing annoyed, just for your personal desire of feeling powerful.
