"cats probably think i got hundreds of thousands of records. it ain't even like that. I got GOOD records." He's so modest and humble. He can freak those records better than 97 percent of cats and thats the difference.
Hell no! can't believe this shit!!!!! he's buildin the sickest beat i've heard for a longer time within 5 fuckin' minutes!!! u damn king, keep it real man!
"Reunion" is a classic! Kinda-post Slum Village. Amazing beat and lyrics that capture a tragic moment almost accidentally. I should have known Black Milk did the beat.
Depends on where you buy it. It can, but if you can find it for less, more power to you. Used is also a good option, assuming it's still in good condition.
the good thing bout Black Milk is that, not only is he an amazing producer with skills compared to Dilla, but also has a very humble relaxed attitude. respect.
I totally just recorded a loop of this beat and put it into an audio file, compressed the shiittt out of it, and put it into a 2 minute beat loop so i can listen to it on repeat. Someone better buy this beat so I can buy the CD.
@@Bigjuggs64 HOLY SHIT YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO yeah i still use this account, youtube OG. I actually rapped over the loop that I made of this beat. pretty embarrassing, I will never share it. Since I made this post I... - toured the country with a crazy noise band - got sober, am now sober 14 years - taught piano for 5 years - got married - became a therapist - bought a house - had a kid have a pretty good life actually.
just use what brings out the best in your music. stop debating i cant stress that any further. if your good at what you use dont belittle another program that you might not comprehend or know how to use and if there is another producer that uses another program or another method of production dont say your method is better than his just give that man credit for making it sound good. show love dont hate and make good music. peace!!!!
This beat is so sick!! You know that feeling when you first fall in love with a girl? I felt like that with this beat. Wow, nice work milk.. Sick sample too
He used a sample. He took elements from the original recording and did his own sequencing and arranging. He created his own new piece of music by incorporating the sample.
in hiphop the kicks and snares are usually used at the same velocity. unless your using realtimedrms or a drum loop thes ofte no ghost notes. the hihats and cymbals used change velocty often.
It's not a blend if the background instrumental is new (sampled or composed). In hip hop, this is what a remix is: "There are 3 different ways to remix. One way is to just change the background beat, another way is to feature several new people in the song (with or without new vocals), and the last way is to take out and add in new vocals of the original song. All three methods may be used all at once. " I got that from another site. What Black Milk is doing is sampling, not remixing. Peace.
yo bringin back to dillas's days (R.I.P) bring back that primo style of beats... even though i'm from the west... hip hoop needs to be real and original again!!! from dilate, hiero, jedi mind, atmosphere, the roots... some1 needsto bring back real hip hop!!!!!
you know what's really sic about this? he's not so full of his self that he wont show you how to make a sic beat, and get that swing feel. he's hip hop, each one teach one
Can anyone in the know tell me, where do producers get drum samples like this? They sound clean but like they've been made or run through analogue equipment, they already have a warm distortion to them. Are there some classic sample packs that producers like Black Milk would use? Thanks for any help.
As a guy that made beats on acid by clicking copying and pasting.I now use a mpc.I think the only thing that matters is the quailty of sounds that you use and that you put your heart and soul into your music.Just beacuse you have a mpc 500,1000,2000,2000xl,3000,4000,5000 MV-8800, motif, Fantom, Fl, Cubase, Reason or any othere program or hardware doesnt mean your music going to be good. If you dont belive me look at some of the vids on this site. Its all about what you want to use and can afford
i mean lets be real hes been making classic underground joints since 04 with slum and then did reunion in 05..one of there most recent classics.... he was already dope..now that he released his album hes doper ah hah
Yeah I'm 24 and have been putting money into music ever since i was like 17..I didn't get a car I got some turntables instead...then an mpc 1000 : [ and the krk's he has..which are really nice for a home studio....only 160/ea for the first models that still bang! Ohh and dont forget the 1000's on records & cds as well pretty much if your not willing to put all your money into it...then its not for you
If you've got a steady well paying job, like being some sort of professional, and this is a hobby, then chances are you won't be pouring all of your finances into it. But, most people in that situation wouldn't bother in the first place.
Bull is sick, but while I'm a student of J Dilla, none of my beats sound like his shit exactly! This dude got his whole style mapped out. But this my type of shit, i'll be checking on bull in the future.
Owens... I own a fully pimped mpc 3000, a full blown laptop... a turntablism set, a live jazz Bass and 2 guitars + a HUGE shitload of wax and all the mixing boards and wires needed for that.... yet... i promise FL is worth knowing it, and no im not lazy... i can hate on reason more then on fl... seriously
An MPC is expensive. For a MPC 2000, you'll spend 2 grand just for the hardware. He's got a keyboard, turn table, and computer on top of that. And it costs more for a MPC 3000. Making good music does not come cheap. My uncle's in the music biz, and while he's not at all mainstream (if you heard his shit, you'd know why), even he had to drop a few thousand on equipment. Guitars, keyboards, mixers, software, hardware, it adds up.
Arguably one of the greatest beat making videos on UA-cam
11 yrs and ha this still goes sooooo damn hard!!!!
Breon Daye I thought this was the hardest beat ever ! I cant tell you how many times I watched this video
Breon Daye Almost 12 now.
Man tell me about. I remember watching this all those years ago when I first started. Still brings inspiration even 12 years later.

My man.. this joint it hot.... Word son... jsdrinkinagain - Similar sounds all have the soulful motown sound... You have to love it...
"Yall ain't gon get me on camera lookin wack. Fuck that"
I like the way he plays the Hi-hats. Its true that it dosent feel that soulful when everything's on the right swing.
This got me into production along with Boonie
Black milk might be one of the most consistence producers right now with good beat making.
"Reunion" is a classic! Kinda-post Slum Village. Amazing beat and lyrics that capture a tragic moment almost accidentally. I should have known Black Milk did the beat.
such a tasty wee beat for a rough draft ... i need to go listen to some black milk for the rest of the day
Dude is real sick with the MP. I dig the whole Young RJ and Black MILK Movement. Do ya thing, cousin. Do ya thing!!!!

The sample is the Masqueraders - "baby it's you"

At the 6:05 mark, when he get the loop right, and the dude in the back yell "whoa" that shit was genuine, u gotta love it

In hip hop, the term "remix" is used when an accapella is placed over a new instrumental. What Black Milk does is "sampling".
He used a sample. He took elements from the original recording and did his own sequencing and arranging. He created his own new piece of music by incorporating the sample.
black milk is not amateur!! he kno wot he doing
in hiphop the kicks and snares are usually used at the same velocity. unless your using realtimedrms or a drum loop thes ofte no ghost notes. the hihats and cymbals used change velocty often.
