Bro, all you had to do was get the Macsboost Camber Kit. Might as well just be shims. Manually adjust the toe yourself like they put in the directions. Tires on Plaid X are brand new after over 8,000 miles. It was under $300 when I bought it.
The auto-steer adjusts the steering based off the alignment, if your alignment is off it will correct for that. I guess it needed to recalibrate and was freaking out because a big adjustment had been made.
I owned a Tesla Model X from 2016-2021, the best car in 40 years, no issues, no range anxiety, no charging in the cold problems, the Falcon Doors worked flawless. The Tesla X saved my life going 65 mph in Kansas City on 435 south loop. A very large Church like chair fell from the back of a truck. I did not have time to respond but guess what, the car steered left to avoid the chair crashing into my windshield and likely severely injuring me or worse. Then steered back into the original lane to avoid a car to my left rear blind spot. There no amount of features better than collision avoidance. For Tesla its routine to help its drivers, its built into the design of this EV
Just guessing, but you only need that if you've lowered your car. Factory suspension isn't borked like that. The reason you only get 5k miles on a set of tires is because you're driving on the inside edge of them all the time once the car is lowered and the camber goes so negative.
Did you change the size of the tires? When you change the OD of the tires, the car will take about 20 or so minutes to learn the new setup. Instead of getting camber arms for my Plaid, I installed washers behind the camber arms which worked perfect.
I don't understand how I'm at 29,000 miles on my Model S Plaid and have only changed my tires once, yet others apparently seem to go through tires every 5000 miles. I've never modded mine, and the one time I changed tires I had Tesla do it for me so maybe that's why?
You bashed Tesla endlessly for your premature tire wear. Never looking at the obvious. It’s a heavy car, with instant torque, 1000hp, and you lowered the car with N2itive lowering links. In all your wisdom, did you ever think to ask the alignment guys for a printout of your rear camber, I’m sure you were easily at 2 or even 3 degrees of negative camber in the rear. The same company you got the lowering links, also makes adjustable rear camber arms, and for $900 you could have saved yourself numerous sets of tires. Not sure why you went with UP when you’re already using N2itive products on your car. I expect non car enthusiasts to get confused about tire wear, but you’re supposedly a “car guy.” Congrats on finally getting your rear camber into spec, some of us have been enjoying our model S for a long time with proper tire wear. Btw make sure your alignment techs dial in your rear to 0.7-0.8 neg camber other wise you’ll continue to have issues and want to blame Tesla.
Did you reset the tire calibration in the Service menu? The traction control system probably detects the slightly larger tire diameters and needs to recalibrate on its own if you didn't reset it to force a recalibration.
You should still hate Tesla since this part is an aftermarket part and Tesla has nothing to do with it. How has Tesla not recalled or addressed this issue whatsoever?
It didn't have the problem originally, he lowered his car and put after market rims.. them bashed the company for problems.. plus he has videos talking about racing the car, and launching it regularly.. so 1000hp heavy car being launch will eat rubber, that simple even without the dumb mods he had
While I respect this, I experienced similar issues on a stock car. Yes it’s 1000 horsepower but every 5000 miles is ridiculous. And one of the windows decided to go boom because the regulators were messed up.
Sadly, it's only one car that have HEPA filters, guardian Mode, overheat protection And for the EV thing, the only Heat pump with "Octavalve" Other EVs are just basic with even no battery software
so my car, i have a 2017 honda civic. cvt... I did a dougnut in the snow and it tried to take a screen shot or somthing because my Traction, power steering, and saftey feature all magically shut off and all my warning lights where lit.... car told me to drive safley in the mean time... just parked and turned it off and on, everything came back except traction control until i drove for a mile or so... and all was good. ...just wanted to share my bizzare moment of losing traction and driving controls... Ok. As a fellow plaid owner, and the owner of a 2013 p85+ who has dealt with shorter tie like for the last decade, my question is what is the effect on the performance by taking out the intentionally input camber? Also, you discussed adjusting the performance profile by adjusting one camber, but then you showed the way unplugged performance does this and it included putting it on a rack and removing the bottom metal protective piece… which seems to be quite a bit of work to get that adjustment in performance.

Right so if you take your Tesla to the track, you can set it up for track mode, yeah right sure shut up. This is stupid, I think Elon Musk knows what he's doing. The car weigh a shit ton because of the battery. That's why tires wear.
Weight is a factor but hard acceleration is another. Even if you don't spin the tires they are wearing faster during hard acceleration due to the amount of load the Plaid creates. In the case of the rear tires, the plaids come with a lot of negative camber which on any car is going to wear the inside of the tires more.

16k miles on original tires. The secret? Don't F* with it.. (ie, don't lower it).
