    After 12 yrs of knitting (and averaging about 36 projects a year according to Ravelry, which I use obsessively), I realized this year I had to pull it back. I have knitted for every human I know (who's knit-worthy) and I've made myself more things than I need. I mean, I rip back projects routinely to reuse the yarn so that I'm not bringing still more "things" into my craft experience. (Don't worry - I still buy more than enough yarn.) At any rate, I decided at the beginning of this year to slow down. My goal is no more than 24 knits this year (regardless of whether they're large garments or small accessories). And I'll give at least 12 of those away if not more. I mean, my first 2 sweaters knitted this year were gifts - and they were fingering and sport weight. Point is, I love this craft and I do use knitting as a way of being with my neurodivergence happily. But at some point I'm going to have to start knitting cobweb lace Shetland shawls cuz they fit into small spaces and they take forever 🙂 PS: I'm pretty well on track...

      Exactly my thoughts 😅 I knitted about 20 items this year already.. oops. I mostly knit only for myself and for my husband plus some baby gift knits. I already started working on more fingering weight yarn, but ended up knitting a cardigan in less than 3 weeks although I thought it would take a couple of months.. I sometimes gift my older knits that I don't like to wear that much anymore. They are in good condition and my friends appreciate it. I often want to keep the brand new knits for myself. 😄

    Great episode. For the beautiful Kinross yarn you got, Marie Wallin has a beautiful scarf - Maple Scarf- that I think would be so very beautiful. I’m about to start mine when I finish some of the many projects I’m working on right now and may show it in my next podcast. Have fun at Flock and Fiber with your mom. 💖🧶

    My daughter lives in Seattle. I’m going to have to coordinate my visits with yarn festivals rather than Seattle Women’s Chorus concerts! I love your Frankie Genser.

    I thought I would recommend the pattern "Viajante" by Martina Behm for your lace weight yarn. I knit one out of Juniper Moon Findley Dappled, lace weight. It's a versatile piece that I wear mostly as a wrap around my neck, but it has a tube turtleneck opening, so you can wear it like a light weight poncho. If you go to Ravelry, there are links from Martina on the pattern page on how to wear it. You can also choose to knit it as long/short as you want to.

    You made me feel so normal just now, because two days ago I had a bike accident and scratched my face up as well (also knees). So now I don't feel like I'm so alone in this ahah

    I don't think those miniballs were the Kinross 4ply. The names you were mentioning sounded like JC Rennie Original Supersoft Lambswool. The Wee County Yarns website do miniball sets of JC Rennie and use their own labels to give the names which is where I think the confusion might have happened. JC Rennie is still really good Scottish wool though 🙂

    Hi! I really like the tide loop tee, do you think silky yarn (BC garn- soft silk) could work with the "build" of the tee?.. To the minis, what a lovely color fade! What about Andrea Mowry´s Stria?

    We’re here in Seattle now! Planning to take the ferry to Bainbridge Island tomorrow morning. I have a question-is Bainbridge High School a public school, and do you know if their track and field is available for public use? If it isn’t, is there a track and field near Downtown that is open? We just need somewhere large and flat to play catch for about 30 min.

    • @apt.atelier
      @apt.atelier  11 місяців тому +1

      Welcome welcome! I believe it is a public park and you should be able to access their track since school is out for summer, the kids won't be using it. You could also try Cal Anderson Park or Volunteer Park in capitol hill, or even Denny Park or Lake Union park near downtown has some nice open space.

      @@apt.atelier thank you so much! We’re having a great time so far-we went to the Mariners game today. I’ll only be at Flock on Friday night, so I won’t get to see you. But thanks for all the recommendations, and have fun this weekend!

    Getting ready to bind off my riblace …did you bind off regular or icord?

    • @Jennyknitsthings
      @Jennyknitsthings 10 місяців тому

      Nevermind! I found it on your older videO. I’m going to try your way -- I’m not liking the look of the Icord

    • @apt.atelier
      @apt.atelier  10 місяців тому

      I'm very happy with mine with no i-cord, plus I didn't have enough yarn for it anyway!
