Nice discussion about Tango vs Blitz behaviours and manner. I've seen folk who say that Hariss' Hawks are usually underrated, and can be real performers... as you said, 10% exciting, but always dependable... something to be said for that.
100% alot of the time just before i slip the Blitz i think.. ok if he misses he will head over that way.. hummm do i have access to that spot! With Tango if i sliped him it didnt matter where we where or what was around us, he would come back instantly like a boomerang!! This matters Alot! Especially if you like to Hawk as much as i do, 6 or 7 days a week. I need to always move spots , otherwise the crows or Rabbits just get decimated 👍
I must Add, Tango was a excellent Gamey Hunter after his first season , very determined and knew his Ability 100% sure of him self which ment i could hunt all day every day no probs rain wind and snow , he was a pleasure to hunt with , he kind of spoiled me 😊👍 Now im sure a imprint Gos would be just as adaptable and confident. But 100% this Pr Male keeps my head on a swivel with stress and excitement.. l only hope he will turn out as confident and dependable as Tango👍👍
@@tangostalons5807 Is it a lot harder to train him than Tango? I think about an Gos, but I think I have to start with an Harris before. Im more experienced with little Falcons like Kestrels and Hobby's
@@MGEE-em9qj yea Harris Hawk was always Steady always predictable, like a well trained Dog!! The Goshawk is The stressfull, full time worry , if he sees something that spooks him he will fly off and stay in a tree for up to 20 mins, some times amazing with speed and power but not always consistent like the dependable Harris. The Gos is like a feathered lizzard!! Just want to eat, has no bond with me ,and easily distracted and fearfull... I hope that helps, 90% of the time male Gos Parent rared is a pain to keep . But 10% of the time its breathtaking.. wheres the Harris is dependable 90% of the time and exciting 10% of the time 🤣
@@tangostalons5807 THANK YOU! That is a helpful Answer 👍 I Love the Flightstyle and the explosive Acceleration of Goshawks but an Harris Hawk is the better Choice for me to learn. @@trevorgorman4844 hey Trevor im in kildare . I had a little male Harris that was great on crows .. took a lot of time and many many slips to get him confident so keep at it 👍

Ben Woodruff says about Accipiters: "They'll hunt, and hunt, all day..." Sure looks true for your Goshawk. Fast, and persistent.
