I have the wide strap maxi dress pattern but haven’t made it yet. I appreciate you explaining how difficult the process is. My sewing room is in the hottest room of the house upstairs, so I now sew downstairs and keep my supplies upstairs. We have an economic portable ac, that runs right near where I sew. I can never sew upstairs in the summer. So sorry for the loss of your family member. ((Hugs))

Hi Jean, Thank you so much. Just to clarify, you're wondering about measuring the pattern, not your body? (Measuring the pattern is a really good habit by the way. Sometimes a pattern will have a marking for the bust apex and that's the fullest part of the bust. It's usually marked by a circle with a cross in the middle.)
