Words are not needed, nor would they do this model justice. It is a thing of beauty.
I don't often comment, nor do I build as often as I would like anymore. I just wanted to say thanks for the solid content and that one of the few kits I'll likely build in the near future will be one of these. It is amazing to see how far progress has come some of my 70's kits I find at my local store. As a follower for quite a while it has been awesome to see the hobby and your hand in it grow.

The single molded fuselage and engine are insane, what every modeler has been dreaming of. The detail is evolving so rapidly we'll probably be seeing individual ammo of spent uranium tank busting shells. There have been 3 aircraft in military history that were perfect, Two still being used and will outlive me , A10, and B52 We asked for more A-1 Skyraiders in SEA, and the manufacturer couldn't comply. Academy hit the ball out of the park on this kit. I need a new note book for wish list if Andy continues with these videos.

Box art appears incorrect. The A-10C does not have the Pave Penny pod but it's a great looking kit. Looks better than the Hobby Boss A-10C I'm building at the moment. Great review Andy

I'm currently building the old Tamiya A-10A. This Academy kit....yea, it's a bit better. I'll have to pick this up down the road!

My favorite airplane as a kid, and I've seen them fly at my local air show. Those big engines have a very distinctive whining sound.

Nice looking kit. Will have to add one to the stash. Love the one piece engine cowls. It does look like the fan blades will sit to far forward like other A-10s. Is there a way to check that?

Now that looks like a great kit. If Scalemates is to believed, it is very reasonably priced at under £40 in the UK.
Looking forward to this kit! Have been planning to convert the old HobbyBoss Hawg to a C-model, but this seems like a much better option. Will be putting in an order for one from you as soon as it comes available.

That is a sweet looking kit . The A-10 has always been one of my favorite aircraft . Hope to pick one of these up when you get them .
How does this compare to the Hobby Boss version?
I just bought it, and I'm hoping I won't regret it.
Nice looking kit, I like Academy kits.
It has defeated the Hobbyboss, Revell and Italeri boxings. Hobbyboss has got as model fan blade issue but other than that its ok. This Academy kit will blow competition away. I am currently building two Revell ones and repainting my old Tamiya A-10. All have the LASTE upgrades.
The first jet I learned inside-out on DCS - have been waiting for a decent modern tooling for so long! Now this and the new AH-64Ds come along at once. It's basically a dream come true.

I can't believe with that molding tech they can make the fan blades with gaps. And like with most other A-10 1/48 no warthog nose decals :(
Holy Wow! I just took my jewelry loupe to the instrument panel and I couldn’t believe I found a microscopic aluminum plate which says “NO FOOD OR DRINKS IN COCKPIT” it’s in the middle right above the working ashtray

Wow! I’m trying to build the old Revell 1/48 A-10 right now, and I’m about ready to throw it at the wall! This new Academy kit looks beautiful!
Me too lol, already broke an antenna off and bent two others, sanded off much of the detail on the top and bottom of fuselage. Basically using it as a practice kit at this point to work on my gap filling, scribing and sanding skills.
Gonna have to pick this up, beautiful looking kit of a beautiful plane.

The top of the main fuselage does have a light parting line down the Center
What a shame, lack of proper research by Academy team resulted in a huge missed opportunity, this kit is full of glaring mistakes, but Andy somehow missed to mention any of them.
When will the kit be available in your store?
The G sprue looked to be the only one that says A-10C, the rest just say A-10, fingers crossed an A is coming.
I woul have liked it in 35 or 32 but its a beautiful kit for the 48 guys.
If the Academy 1/35 UH-1Y is engineered this way its going to be amazing!!!
What a well designed kit! Also love the pre cut masks. If the engineering is as good as the first impression and it fit’s well than this is an awesome kit!
Hi Andy it looks like a great kit I am building the Hobby boss A-10c which is a good kit to. the Academy A-10c looks much more better and I do like the slide moulding. it is very interesting how they've gone about making it. I do know Great Wall hobbies I was making a A-10 as well interesting how they do this
Don't trust academy kits before you start to build. They look better than what they are.

Perchance would you know what model maker produces the best-quality 1:48th-scale kit of the Republic A-10A Thunderbolt II Warthog USAF Attack Aircraft? I would like to display them side-by-side.
Or alternately, could one backdate this A-10C kit? What would that entail, please?
Also, is a newer variant or update coming? Or is this that version? On UA-cam, I have seen unusual photographs of some strange, supposed upgrades that frankly look downright fanciful.
We don’t use the penny pod on the A10s no more.

What type of clear coat do you use on your tank models?
I've wanted to see a new tool A-10 kit for a long time, and I may just have to grab this if I can guarantee a spot for it given the size, hah
A-10 Warthog is my favorite military aircraft. And although I don't usually do 1/48, this is a buy for sure in the future. Love the one piece fuselage and engines.
Looking very good. Hope they add the 2-seater too, which should be simple enough to engineer from this one looking at how the fuselage is put together.

Really nice, But now I hear Gwh is coming out with one too. I probably buy both as the A10 is a favorite of mine.
