That's how you ride fast...safe, controlled and no risk taking. Would love to ride that road with you...sadly, in the UK we just don't have roads that last that long in one go.
Ok.... I thought... this vid is too long, I'll watch just a few min.... then I was hypnotized.... you ride really well, fast but not irresponsible, the quickshifter was amazing, changing gears in continous up&down with perfect rev matching... but those two false neutral surprised me, quite scary! The Diavel was a nice surprise, but your bike is perfectly designed for this kind of road.
Glad you liked it, yeah it was fast but not out of control. :-) The false neutrals surprised me too, it was going down into first gear both times ... hasn't happened since. II stopped and spoke to the Diavel rider and it was a bit of a hot rod with 195hp at the rear wheel.
Brilliant video and great riding. No silly dangerous overtaking manoeuvres and three well matched riders albeit the Daivel rider had a mini moment then waived you by. That road is fantastic too....in the UK we have roads similar but much after five or ten mins they're over and done with. That road just went on forever. Was the camera on a gimble setup ?
it was a joy to watch your video and here the QS doing his job. Awesome, this is awesome. I can imagine you just want to keep accelerating en deaccelerating en shifting up and down. Awesome
Thank you. I found the OE Bridgestone t30s to be an awesome tyre but only gave 3000 miles. Im running PR4s at the mo but am not that confident in their grip leant over. I'm looking for something with better grip but longer lasting than the OE bridgestones. So ill go with your suggestion when I next change. Cheers 👍🏽
Hey man, what a ride!! Excellent video !!! You have beautiful lines, also those two guys. Got my new XR here in USA after riding the beast 3300km into the Alps last month, love it! Did you ever ride northern Italy? I highly recommend that
Swiss, Austrian, French and Italian Alps, best place to ride. Road surface in the Dolomites are less than great. For best road surface and curvy roads, head to the North of Spain, the Pyrenees
The best thing is, from the riders view, it looks like your sittin up, waiting to pitch-it sideways. Good stuff, great riding. Also, kinda surprised how well that Diavel does...Great post, not sure if you guys know each other, but you should.
BMWRR69 this is a great video. Is it just GSX not GSXR? I love the different riding styles. @3:10 that guy didn't know to get out of the way. Yikes. The Duc sounded amazing. He came close to hitting you. You could really tell when you started to push it. Suspension and sound. Then you were shaking out your hand @17:00. XR vibrations? And that quick shifter. Excellent all around
Bloody jelous as...... what a great road, very few vehicles ..... timing & warmed tyres are everything though eh, we all have roads that can be the best or the worst depending on time of day , weather etc....catching them traffic free is the Jam on the doughnut .. :-) great footage dude..
66k ...wow... bucket list road for me, I take it it is a well known road in your parts.. I do enjoy technical roads along with most of my riding mates. We are well used to long rides at progressive speeds... One thing i did notice whilst following your footage is how fluid & group minded everyone was ( except you, you mad fecher :-) ... Jokin....Was enjoying how your group rides, respect, triust etc...your group do swap around, taking turns to ride point with chasing pack etc... I suppose we all do that depending on tempo of the ride, group composition, confidence , weather etc.. Group Concentration, awreness & focus are everything, wouldnt you agree?
+Gogs Alba It's the Eildon to Jamieson Rd in Victoria (Australia), hasn't been that popular as it's a bit out of the way but because the fun roads are policed it's nice to go that bit further out. My mates are actually a fair way behind me and I just started chasing these two for a fun ride. There were a few learner/beginner rides there and they were great as they stayed out of your way. We are about to do a five day trip with a group of mates so looking forward to it. You've got to know the riders you are with, makes such a difference and yes we take it in turns to lead. Loving the XR BTW.
Thanks for the Area & road update.. one day :-). I look forward to watching the footage of your 5 day road trip.. Always the best when riding with good mates..Enjoy & glad to hear your loving the XR ,,
mate great video and good camera angles. how do you reakon this bike would be with a bloke 6ft4. at the moment im on a vstrom and getting off lams soon, saw this bike and loved the look of it.
Thanks ... I'd say it would be perfect. To look at it appears to be a large bike but once you're on it the size disappears. Reports are that it's got vibrations through the bars ... yes it does but easily fixed with heavier bar ends like I have on mine. Take one for a test ride once you get off lams. :-) My first bike off lams was an S1000RR ...
Nah, that wasn't fast ... the XR gets a real wobble up when your absolutely wringing it's neck ... it also starts to push the front wheel a bit to, but all very progressive. :-)
Great video ! That looks like a brilliant road. It looks like cars aren't allowed on it, just bikes. Where is it ? I'm guessing Australia given the sunny weather and riding on the left or maybe South Africa ... cos it sure ain't the UK !
It was a camera with a gyro mount. Called a Motogyrocam but I don't think they are available anymore. I think Ziyhun make one and also check out revl ...
Someone asked what sort of gimbal I use. It's called a motogyro gimbal, but their website has been pulled down. Who knows ... I'd look at the FeiYu Tech FY - WG for the Gopro 3/4/5 or the one for the session as I'll get one of those next.
G'Day buddy. Terrific Video and great riding! Is that Mt Hotham in Victoria or somewhere else? At first glance I thought it was the Oxley Hwy heading West, but it definitely is not that! And zero bloody speed advisory signs. I suppose that makes you think more about each corner. The Zooki rider had a nervous six minutes by the looks of him - he was changing lines mid corner - almost every corner. I had those fun false neutrals twice on a Ducati Monster 1100 in an hour - but heading into 2nd just before a tight bend. Thank god for runoffs is all I could think. Fukn hated that bike! Cheers :)
Called a moto gyro vision for the gopro www.motogyrovision.com/ is where I bought it from although I notice their website has been down for a while. Try looking them up on youtube.
In the video I was running the standard Bridgestones, more of a touring tyre. I've since switched to the Diablo Rosso 3's and if there was a tyre made for a bike it's got to be the Diablo Rosso 3's, they are just so nice, good for touring with a hard center and soft sticky edges ... I've done 3000km so far and I'll easily get 7,000 km's out of them. Awesome tyre.
That's some great video. Perfect sound, perfect shots. Excellent...
Awesome riding, you're putting that XR through it's paces. Hopefully mine gets put together later today.
That's how you ride fast...safe, controlled and no risk taking. Would love to ride that road with you...sadly, in the UK we just don't have roads that last that long in one go.

Thanks, I actually wanted to buy a Multistrada, but the QS sold me on the BMW ... plus I've also got a HP4.
Yep I understand. Thinking of buying the health QS for my DVT. Had it on my 999S and worked like a charm
Thank you. I found the OE Bridgestone t30s to be an awesome tyre but only gave 3000 miles. Im running PR4s at the mo but am not that confident in their grip leant over. Metzeler Roadtec 01 heavyweights, they are awesome
Excellent video, worn out watching it !!!.....wish we had roads like that
Nice video and great riding! Nothing like a gimballed camera to give the best footage!
They work well ... :-)
Hey man, what a ride!! Excellent video !!!

@12:20 gently gently not too early haha! Excellent vid mate!
The sound of music...this is what I play now, before I goto sleep.
The best thing is, from the riders view, it looks like your sittin up, waiting to pitch-it sideways. Good stuff, great riding. Also, kinda surprised how well that Diavel does...Great post, not sure if you guys know each other, but you should.
The Diavel was 195hp at the rear wheel ... was owned by a bike shop tuner. I didn't know the guys but stopped and had a chat at the end.
Good stuff, and from the few view I got, it looked as if his feet were forward a bit, made me think it wasa DiavelX..keep-up the great posts.

Fantastic and engaging video! well done! and they could not with you :)
To overcome the diavel and gsx enough 3 curves , took you too!
I like how generous the other bikers are. Letting the hooligans through haha! I'd do the same thing !
Bloody jelous as...... what a great road, very few vehicles ..... timing & warmed tyres are everything though eh, we all have roads that can be the best or the worst depending on time of day , weather etc....catching them traffic free is the Jam on the doughnut .. :-) great footage dude..
+Gogs Alba 66km and 45 minutes of corners. You go one way and then turn around and do it all over again. :-)
66k ...wow... bucket list road for me, I take it it is a well known road in your parts.. I do enjoy technical roads along with most of my riding mates. Awesome road and riding skills. You've got some cojones my friend. I've got an XR but no roads as good as that to ride it on ☹️
Nah, that wasn't fast ... the XR gets a real wobble up when your absolutely wringing it's neck ... it also starts to push the front wheel a bit to, but all very progressive. :-)
What suspension setting were you riding there or which is your favourite configuration ??
Unless I'm cruising down the road it's in Dynamic
Nice video. It's scary going into some of those corners with a false neutral I keep on hearing.
Much better now.Was going through the run in period and I kept finding neutral ... hasn't happened since.
turkishexpress in were minut/second did that happened?
nice riding ,well done
Great video ! That looks like a brilliant road. It looks like cars aren't allowed on it, just bikes. Where is it ? I'm guessing Australia given the sunny weather and riding on the left or maybe South Africa ... cos it sure ain't the UK !
I know those corners. MT Stuart Townsville, used to ride em on my RG 500. 2nd look maybe not.
What kind of camera are you using, it seems to have a some horizontal mecanism. Thanks
I'm using a gimbal mounted GoPro 4. It's from motogyrogimbal.com, but I see they are no longer around.
It was a camera with a gyro mount. Called a Motogyrocam but I don't think they are available anymore. I think Ziyhun make one and also check out revl ...

Nice play
Nice video! Where have you got the low down camera mounted - that's a great shot
It's about 100mm below the indicator and then cable tied.
Hey! Nice Vid! Is the camera on a gimbal? If it is what are you using?
Nice vid !! witch exaust do you have ?
In the vid it's the standard exhaust but the second camera is also picking up induction noise as well.
G'Day buddy. Terrific Video and great riding!

Mike McLeod it's actually the Jamieson to Eildon Rd
Damn - only 850k's from my place. Maybe if I go to Phillip Is. I can do it on the way down or back.
You'd have to do it on the way there and back :-)
Did a similar video hunting down a bike through Tail of the Dragon. Then I realized I was chasing a Burgman. Not going to post that video . . .
Go on post it ... :-) You never know the reaction on UA-cam.
What kind of camera mount you have?
Called a moto gyro vision for the gopro www.motogyrovision.com/ is where I bought it from although I notice their website has been down for a while. Try looking them up on youtube.
Thanks for the info!!!
does the cam not hit the ground in right hadn corners?
It probably looks lower in the video but it's mounted just under the indicator
BMWRR69 looks like its about to scrape the ground sick angle man
cutting the turns doesnt make you a faster rider just less safe
wow what happened at 11:00? QS Mistake?
Going back to first gear I found neutral, but was under brakes and didn't find out until I hit the throttle :-(
BMWRR69 plus that rider not getting out of the way. That's what I thought anyway. He should have yielded a bit better.
What tyres were you running please?
In the video I was running the standard Bridgestones, more of a touring tyre. Metzeler Roadtec 01 heavyweights, they are awesome
Which road was that!?
It's in Australia and is the Eildon to Jamieson Road.
Sure it is fast....but both the GSX and the Diavel need to work on there upper body position. Move your upper body to the inside....not your ass....
They where no match for the XR.
+Darrell N would have been nice to of had the limiter removed. Was still pretty quick as I touched the pegs a few times. :-)
Next time make subtitles
I'm doing that with current vids now ... so when I put up a new one it will have titles... :-)
Terrible lines! HUGE risk taking.
