- Rezwana Choudhury Bannya is a Bangladeshi singer. She is an exponent of Rabindra Sangeet, the songs written and composed by Rabindranath Tagore.
Rezwana was born in Rangpur, Bangladesh. Since her childhood she had been attracted to music which quickly grew into a passion with the encouragement and help of her parents. Her early singing lessons started with her uncle Abdul Ali that continued later under the tutelage of Sanjita Khatun and Atiqul Islam at Chhayanat and Bulbul Academy of Fine Arts (BAFA) in Dhaka. As she continued taking lessons in music and singing, she also joined the Economics Program at the university after completion of her schooling. However, soon her inner- self came to the realization that music was her destiny. She received a scholarship from the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) to study in Santiniketan, the university that was founded by Tagore himself on his philosophy of complete natural learning. Her true love for Rabindrasangeet started at Santiniketan and only became deeper by the days under the loving care of all of her gurus such as Kanika Bandyopadhyay (affectionately known as Mohordi), Nilima Sen, Shoilajaranjan Mazumdar, Santidev Ghosh, Gora Sarbadhikary, Manju Bandyopadhyay and Asesh Bandyopadhyay.
It was Mohordi who infused the true love for Rabindrasangeet in her by taking her under her loving and nurturing care. Rezwana honestly confesses that everything that she has achieved today is because of her; Mohordi was indeed the guiding beacon in her life, her true guru:-the friend, philosopher and guide. Her relationship with Mohordi is beyond the traditional guru-shishya relationship. It is something very special that defies description and can only be in the feelings inside Rezwana's heart.

যতই দেখি যতই শুনি ততই মুগ্ধ বিস্মিত হয়ে গেলাম। মনে হয় সারা দিনরাত চোখে চোখে রাখি শ্রবণে রেখে দিই।
শতকোটি প্রণাম জানাই ও হৃদয় উজাড় করা ভালোবাসা জানাই দিদিকে।
যতোবার শুনি ততো,বার সমৃদ্ধ হই ।

যদিও উনিশ'শ বাহাত্তরে আমারও এসএসসি।শ্রদ্ধা ও ভালোবাসার জায়গায় তিনি আমার বন্যাদি।প্রথম থেকেই উনার কণ্ঠে রবীন্দ্রসংগীত শুনে আসছি।যতই দিনের পর দিন শুনছি ভালো লাগছে,আর ভিতর থেকে কখনো কখনো অশ্রুু গড়িয়ে পড়ছে।অনেক সময় মোহরদি'কে খুঁজে পাই।তবে বর্তমানে বেশ সুন্দর একটা অবস্থান গড়ে তুলছেন,যা উনাকে চিরজীবি করে রাখবেন।"মধুর তোমার শেষ যে না পাই--------------------------
রঞ্জনদা ও বন্যাদি দুজনকেই অশেষ ধন্যবাদ।

অসাধারণ শিল্পী। দিদিভাইয়ের গানের গলা যেমন সুন্দর তেমনি ওনার কথাও খুব সুন্দর। আমার খুব প্রিয় শিল্পী ও খুব ভাল মনের একজন মানুষ। আমি দিদিকে সশ্রদ্ধ প্রণাম জানাই।

আপনারা কত সৌভাগ্যবান। আমরা ঐ সব অঞ্চলের মানুষ ছিলাম 77 বছর আগে।আমার স্বর্গগত বাবার কাছে ছোটবেলা থেকে ঐ সব অঞ্চলের নাম শুনে,রবি ঠাকুরের সংপৃক্ততা শুনে বড় হয়েছি।আজ বৃদ্ধ হয়ে কেমন একটা কল্পনার মধ্যে ঐ জায়গা সমূহকে মানস দৃশ্যে অবলোকন করছি।

রেজওয়ানা চৌধুরী বন্যার কথা শোনার জন্য এই ভিডিওটি অনেক আগ্রহ নিয়ে দেখা শুরু করলাম কিন্তু এখানে রেজওয়ানা চৌধুরী আবেগপূর্ণ কথাগুলি যখনই বলতে টিভি এংকার তাকে ডিস্টার্ব করছে করছে যা খুবই বিরক্ত কর
বন্যাদিকে এভাবে আর কোনদিন পাইনি। এই অনুষ্ঠানের মাধ্যেমে তাকে নতুন করে আবিস্কার করলাম।

বয়বৃদ্ধির সাথে সাথে অনুভূতি, দর্শন রূপ পাল্টাচ্ছে বার বার, অবিরত আজীবন; যেন ভালো লাগা আরো বাড়িয়ে দিয়ে যাচ্ছে।
বয়সের সাথে সাথে ব্যক্তিগত dimension গুলো ও "নব নব রূপে"।
রবি ঠাকুরকে কাছে পেতে ইচ্ছা জাগে।

টুইটারে জিফ এ বাংলাদেশের কেউ কেউ যখন রবীন্দ্রনাথ ঠাকুরকে গালাগালি দিয়ে কথা লেখে তখন আমারও ঠিক এরকমই খারাপ লাগে। খুব কষ্ট হয়।
আর বন্যাদির গান শুনলেই আমার কণিকা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় কে মনে পড়ে যায়।

As a very very common listener I want to put a question to Respected Ranjan Banerjee regarding Respected esteemed Rejaun Banana chowdhuri , She is extremely reputed singer with excellent talent while she carries the image of another stalwart Singer whenever madam chowdhuri starts singing it is felt that madam is singing. To me madam chowdhuri possibly has lost her own identity.
Respected Mr Bhattacharya Kindly refer to my previous reply and I am to add that my comment was possibly specific and particularly for a particular case. I don't find any justification for any confusion and also referring my other comments. It can't be expected from a reputed international scholar and dignified person like you. I may commit mistake as I have once again mentioned that I am a very very common man. Apart from this you have choosen personal attack. I don't know whether the same. falls within the purview of curtsey and gentleness of high scholar persons like you. It should be mentioned that I have never come across such type of highly educated person. I have experienced that educated persons may also behave like this and the same to me are surprising and unbelievable . Anyway this is a great lesson for me about the subject Highly learned persons and their behaviour and sense of courtsey.

Respected Mr Bhattacharjee, Many thanks for your kind reply along with a decent approach. Every body has a separate choice , there should be no problem with it . U may prefer any Singer , you have every right to express your choice , others should respect the fact . As regards influence of another Artist it may be said it happens in every field like film , theatre. , music and literature, Somebody may accept and somebody may differ. You may appreciate the importance of originality . If any Artist is influenced in excess it is absolutely his or her business. As regards my stand let me take an example. One student at Debabrata Biswas had appeared in utube with number of songs or in other words his performances were displayed. With my best regards to him that gentleman repeatedly using the name of Debabrata Biswas and he had been singing the popular songs of Debabrata Biswas. It was no problem to understand the name of his teacher had been continuously used for his interest. I wrote one comment that the gentleman is having a nice voice , secondary be was a student of Biswas. He should not use any name He should establish himself with his own quality and thus establish own identity I should again repeat that whether I accept it or not the same doesn't matter anybody Extremely sorry for the lengthy message.
