Change title to "Ram fanboy rambles about his Ram"
Long winded jibber jabber.....
So it is officially broke in. I have 12500 miles in just 6 months. The titan xd hits all the points I need for a construction company. I pulled enclosed trailer 5500 lbs and get 11 to 14 in town. I pull a 14 foot dump trailer ranging from 7500 lbs up to 13200 and get 9 to 13 mpg. On the highway I am a lead foot can keep it under 80 in Montana which is the speed limit and get 19 to 22 depending on mountains on in the plains. I have owned a 2500 Laramie longhorn and 1500 rams. So for ride comparisons Ram needs too step up there game. The Nissan is smoother on rough terrain and less tipsy in the curves on the mountain passes. The cold start is impressive we have had temperatures all winter in the low 10's started every time and warmed up within 6 minutes. Turbo lag is not noticeable when moving and you step on the pedal to go. Only feedback on it is fuel filter maintenance every 10000 miles and the software for take off at a complete stop to go. This truck compared to any half ton is no comparisons XD out does them all. This truck compared to 3/4 ton or 1 ton should not be compared due to this is not a truck rated for those needs. Nissan made a truck for that in between market. People with a real job that pull everyday stuff. Horse trailers, 5th wheel campers, boat jet skis and etc. So when I get to 500000 miles I will still be driving this one. Ram 2500 Cummins, Duramax and Ford 350 6.7 power stroke are great for heavy hauling.
+Wayne Carter Thank you for the articulate response. I think Ram addressed your ride point with the Bilsteins on the off road package. The ride on and off road is outstanding compared to the OEM shocks on my old truck. I got very similar or even slightly better mileage with my old truck but am not through the break-in with this one yet. I think there are positives to the XD and I believe what you're saying, it just wasn't the one for me.
I owned one and pulled a camper, you state 11 to 14 in town with 5500 lbs trailer, 80 mph empty and getting 19 to 22 NOPE, no way mine would never achieved that mileage.
@@618GOLDENRATIO in the Titan XD Facebook owners forum there are people getting 23-24 after emissions delete and economy tune. So yes, there is a way. You have to delete any modern diesel anyway to make it reliable.
@@NIKOSAUTOS my 18 xd is deleted and the thing fucking rips.it also tows anything I throw at it and does not squat as much as my Duramax work truck hauling the same loads. And at the price point I got it for its Been the best bang for buck pickup I’ve ever owned. Could you imagine buying a ram 3500 right now for 75-90k lol.
@@fixitcorrectly7301 Exactly. It’s a heavy 1/2 ton not a light 3/4 ton. And at $20-30K less it’s worth it for a lot of people. It would take a lot of time to make up the difference in gas.
Rule #1-Never listen to a man that wears wire framed sunglasses
My experience with this truck has been AWESOME!!! My Best MPG has been 19.6. I've had it for a year 33k. It Loves Crusin @ 80-100 mph. (SAFELY) No truck gets good gas milage. The way they build these trucks today It's hard to drive the speed limit. The tank gets low I thank the LORD I can refill it and I keep it moving. The XD Is A NICE TRUCK.
+Neal Redd I guess my main issue is that I am AVERAGING better mileage than 19.6 in a larger truck with a larger and more powerful Cummins. My best in my 2016 was nearly 24mpg! I can't see the justification and I said in the video that fit and finish was really nice in the XD.
As an owner of a 2016 Titan XD with the Cummins, my experience does not line up with your video. I do not drive the crap out of my truck, but I don't baby it, either. Typical milage on the highway (65 mp/h cruise) averages 25 mpg (10 litres per 100 km). Overall combined usage during the winter is 18 mpg (13.5 litres per 100 km) which includes extra fuel for remote starts, idling, city driving, and regens. Adding a 10,000 lb trailer does not double your fuel consumption like some powertrain choices do. I agree with the "gutless" comment, but that is not the engine, that is software controlling "torque management". I'm not a fan of it, but have adjusted my driving. When in tow mode, it is less noticeable, and it learns to limit the torque management when you drive a bit more aggressively. Part of the approach to quiet the engine also factors into how the power comes on- It has aluminum pistons, and each power stroke gets several injections of fuel instead of one big gulp, to limit piston slap (as more power is required, this effect is diminished and you get better power output). I don't think I will tow more than 10,000 lbs-ish, in Canada you need a commercial licence of some description to go over that threshold (plus obscene insurance, etc), so this truck is right sized for me. The components are COTS (commercial off the shelf) to limit R & D cycle demands, but the truck overall is beefy, fun to drive, super comfortable on long hauls, dead quiet at highway speed, and I am counting on the quality components to extend the life of the truck to at least 500,000 kms, time will tell. My only real complaint is what the Nissan dealerships charge for parts & service... Nissan wants the two fuel filters changed every 16,000 kms (10,000 miles) at $500-ish (just filters are $400!). My local Cummins dealer sold me the same filters for $80 for both, and I can change them out in 15 minutes. Nissan needs to re-evalute service cycle and costs, because if you are not prepared to do some of the maintenance yourself, it is more expensive than other trucks out there.
+Troy Harnish I appreciate the open response and am really glad you like your truck. 25mpg is shocking to me and you have the hands down best mileage I've heard of from the XD. I've seen tuned variants with excellent power output but that isn't an option for many people, at least if they want to protect their remaining warranty. I agree that the ride is excellent and cabin noise is very good. No complaints about the comfort here.
Troy Harnish
I agree I also own the xd 4x4 and on my road trips I don't anything lower than 23.6 and that's me flooring it on occasions....and it a hell of a truck .....ive pulled out dodge , Fords and Chevy out of places I've gone through with no problems...I just came back from a trip to Arizona and took the desert road and my truck did not hesitate one bit and I just had on the diff lock not even 4x4 I was impressed.....
I only have a little over a 1000 miles on my Titan XD Pro 4x diesel but highway miles I'm averaging 22 mpg and I'm hoping that gets better with time and miles on the engine.
That's with cruise set on 75 and turning 1950 rpm, Interstate 10 between Columbus, TX and Kerrville, TX.
So far I love the truck, the ride the comfort and the power...my only grip about the truck and it's trivial is that I wish it had more overhead compartments like my old Titans and Toyotas did.
+texaswader Are you using the dash gauge to measure mileage or actually mathing it out at the pump? Interesting that it turns nearly 2k at 75mph
I am a current owner of a 2017 Nissan Titan XD Pro4x and came over to Nissan from owning 3 Ram 3500 Diesel trucks over the past 17 years , I use my trucks for work in the oil rig industry . and to say they get rode hard would be an understatement . I have been getting over 20 MPG with the Nissan and will never own another Chrysler product again , they are the most poorly , cheaply made diesel pickups out there . the only good part is the Cummins engine . The warranty is not worth the paper its written on . good luck when it starts to break down .(and it will....Often)
Shawn MacLeod Wow!!!! I hope my 12 Ram lasts until i can afford my next truck damn!!!
Ive got a 37" tpy hauler think the nissan could keep up with my 2500hd gmc duramax
I too considered buying a Cummins XD and after driving one for a week courtesy of a friend I have at Nissan corporate, I took a pass. To me it was a solution looking for a problem. A truck category invented by some corporate stiff shirts sitting around a conference table that had no clue what they were doing. Cummins had a motor they needed a home for since other auto makers had taken a pass on the 5.0 due to its fuel economy was not where it needed to be for a 1/2 ton or tweener truck. They found their sucker in Nissan. Every Nissan dealer I made contact with didn't (and still don't have) a clue about the XD from selling it to working on it. Good luck on finding an experienced diesel mechanic at a Nissan dealership for your service needs!
And for disclosure we have two Nissans in our driveway so I'm not a brand hater.
I hate to tell you, but unless you trade trucks a lot, I wouldn't have bought a ram. Fiat Chrysler can't build a truck that last. You pay for it several times over in its lifespan. The titan may "only" pull 12k, but I have cattle, tractors, and campers I pull with an f150 lol. Don't worry about numbers, you even said yourself that the ram was over kill for you. It's going to over kill your wallet eventually if you keep it long enough. Nissan has built a great truck for a long time, they know what they're doing and don't jump the gun to keep up with the Jones's, ie ram putting out shit they haven't tested long enough to keep up with Ford and gm. I grew up in the souther where the big three truck brands basically determin your friends. I'm a Ford guy by birth but a Toyota guy by choice, any Toyota I've ever had would outlast any Ford I've ever had, and do the same job, just longer. Same with Nissan. I wouldn't hesitate to buy one if I needed a new truck. The Cummins is only as reliable as what's built behind it, in the Nissan it's solid, the ram... the transmission is going to fail along with the rest of the truck
I don't remember anyone promising fantastic mileage. My opinion it's safe to assume better mpg, but that's on me. I bought the Titan xd because of the engine trans combo. There is no way I would buy a dodge with a cummins and the fiat transmission. Just nope. You get the Asian trans in the dodge only in the 3500. The ride on my xd is fantastic! Way better than the f150 that I compared to. Yup it's big. Idk about you but I need the 6.5 bed. If you look at the ford with the same bed the wheelbase is way too long. Looks bad my opinion. And 0% chance of off road with the 157 wheelbase unless lifted with tires. The xd has very good ground clearance and is off roadable as is. Not rock crawling but 99% of what most of us do. Also, the brakes, frame and steering hardware are all off of nissans commercial line of vehicles. This is a million mile truck. The infotainment might suck and the lack of a sunroof is a miss, but I'll be straight with you dude. You'll be on your forth dodge when I give up my nissan.
+Charles Casto The Aisin is an excellent transmission and will almost certainly last longer than my 68RFE [Chrysler] transmission. Although I can respect your optimism and genuinely hope the Titan is a "million mile truck," there are multiple examples of the 4th gen Ram already hitting that number. The Titan still has a ton to prove and I wish you the best.
PNWreckage the isv 5.0 cummins and Asian trans have been around the block for quite some time. As well as the nissan commercial vehicle components. Even the axles are bought from a quality company. Well known old axle. Longevity wise it's pretty much an old truck with New clothes. Since it's got Japanese quality control I was willing to throw the dice on the rest of the body. That's the only reason I was willing to buy first year. But yeah it's slow, too big for me to care lol. Honestly, if you take a 1500 and hook it up to a 9k trailer and to the same with the Titan xd, travel trailers for argument sake the whole experience will be less stressful, the xd pulls without being pushed around. You would be fighting it in the f150!!And if you look on the forum you'll see mostly camper guys on there. I believe this was what they were shooting for. Inexpensive diesel towing compared to 3/4 ton and a light ride for travel. My opinion the largest mistake they made was a tow rig that has a 26 gallon fuel tank. Especially when they tested it and knew it was a 16 mpg truck not towing.
+Charles Casto Full disclosure I would have gone with the Titan if it hadn't been another Ram. You're right about a lot of the components and I'll be the first to admit I wish I had an Aisin. Some of the choices make no sense to me (fuel capacity wtf!) and I wonder about the package as a whole. Not sure if you watched the whole video but I'm definitely not a critic of Nissan. I just wanted more of the benefits of that segment to be present and to make sense. The 5.0 is still a neat platform, particularly when tuned, and I'll be watching how it progresses over the next few years.
PNWreckage oh no I'm not disagreeing with you mostly. I'm not a nissan guy!! I do like the z platform lol. I just don't know why nissan billed it as a 5/8 truck. It's not. It's just a really good 1500 tow rig. (Not the fuel tank). It just filled all my needs in the 1/4 ton market 6.5 bed most likely to live as long as I do lol quad cab great ride great sound system And quiet as a church mouse. With ground clearance for my off road rides. There were no other trucks that filled my needs for the price I paid. The one thing you didn't mention or I missed it was a ride and price comparison.
+Charles Casto You didn't miss it lol, I avoided most of the price topic intentionally and neglected to touch on the ride comparison. Price fluctuates month to month, but I would have saved only a couple grand by going with the Titan both times I bought. The ride is nice on the Titan and is probably better than the stock ride of a 2500. The Bilsteins evened that playing field for the 2017 model year in my opinion.
You made the right choice... My 2016 Titan XD has had more than a dozen major repairs with under 100,000 miles. It doesn’t tow like advertised, it has serious throttle lag, it averages 12.8 mpg city/highway, etc... Terrible truck but I might have just gotten a lemon.
Dodge pulled out because they went bankrupt. I have the XD PR and have gotten as high as 24 MPG. It takes a good 10k miles to break in. The ride and handling is what I like the most along with not having the same truck everyone else has at every stoplight. Love my XD
Yep, as I said in the video Dodge pulled out following the economic downturn in the US. I am happy you like your truck but am honestly curious why you watched this. No rudeness intended. You also are reporting excellent mileage. Is that from the dash readout or are you calculating it at the pump?
No Jason, the 5.0 V8 Cummins in the XD doesn't have an engine brake. Using tow mode though does downshift on hills so you don't need to use the brakes. Works well.
Another thing to note is TFL Truck did a review on the gas and the XD and the gas ended up having a faster time to the top of the Ike. That in itself is a big reason to stay away for me. I also drove one and not only is it gutless but the more I sat in it the more I realized how poor it felt in the interior. It just wasn't up to par with the other trucks on the market in my opinion.
Not that surprising really. Doesn't matter how much torque you have, the higher HP vehicle will win the race up a hill if it can remain in that higher HP band for the pull. TFL also did a pull with a different XD and trailer, but similarly weighted and the XD did much better in that video, they did not explain why.
To each their own on the interior, I find it every bit as good as the comp other than the 7" screen and I'm coming from a 2015.5 Dmax LTZ.
2017 Titan owner. First of all I'll go ahead and answer your question of why am I watching your video? Just came up in regular searches. I was looking for videos of modded cummins Titans. I bought the regular Titan with the VK56 as i just needed a full size pickup for basic utility but also capable of towing my 300ZX. Let me just say that you don't need anywhere near 12K even to tow a 300ZX and full trailer. Unless you have a massive enclosed toy hauler capable of holding 2 cars or something. I towed my Z round trip from San Antonio to Branson MO last year in the dead heat of the summer and my truck never broke a sweat. The trans temp gauge never budged. I also have a 6" lift and 35s.
These trucks are quite underrated and anyone who actually owns and uses them will tell you that. Glad you're happy with your Ram, but I'm curious what the price difference was with all things equal vs the XD Titan.
Seems like it's designed for the people who want to tow a heavier boat or trailer around for recreation, not for guys who work their truck like a mini-semi. Most people never use that kind of towing capacity anyway.
I laugh when I see heavy duty and super duty truck owners using them to tow little atvs or jet skis
Lol one is 70k the other 50k slight difference in fuel mileage unless you work the crap outta the thing doesn’t make up for almost 20k
what a princess...
Owning and driving this truck, completely blows my mind. Yeah it doesn't get the greatest fuel mileage but I would say it does over perform it's posted numbers. You are against a truck you don't have towing capacities for. It's one thing to knock vehicle you are shopping for vs owning. I'm definitely not brand loyal. Just listening to your video cracks me up. sorry bro maybe I was a bit harsh but you seemed to be a bit critical. Good luck on the reliability of your Chrysler product.
+Michael Gillespie hey we can disagree which is fine, it doesn't change the fact that the XD has less power, a lower towing capacity, and inferior fuel economy while loaded OR unloaded. That is absolutely unacceptable in a truck market saturated with options. I was being critical and still am, Nissan really shit the bed.
PNWreckage I would say it is highly underrated. I picked it up with a ton of options formless than I could after rebates with a dodge 2500, f250, or Silverado 2500. numbers aren't that off.
+Michael Gillespie I could not get it for a low enough price to justify the compromises, unfortunately. Hope it works well for you, it just wasn't the one for me.
I average 13.4 and now I'm getting rid of my Titan for many reasons I was an advocate for the XD but Nissan's service and warranty is a joke not one of this Tech's are diesel mechanics for Colorado to New York i have yet to find a competent mechanic for Nissan I'm going to make a video explaining in detail the issues once my legal battle is over
I had one xd with multiple problems (transmission, diesel smell in cab...)dealers couldn’t fix it so finally trade it to 2500 ram gas. Ram is great and with gas i can pull more than xd diesel
What specific model Ram is your truck? I love that's it's all color matched. Looks great!
+PhantomLS2 Thanks man! This is a 2500 Laramie with the Sport Appearance Group. This group gets rid of the chrome and color matches everything. I believe there are 5 colors available with it: mine, silver, white, black and del monico red.
Buy what works for you. I wouldn't be caught alive or dead on a Dodge car lot, much less buying one, but that doesn't mean they don't make good products. My Titan XD break necks everywhere I go. Chevy/Ford drivers secretly want to ask me questions but their pride keeps them from doing so.
+Color Crush Media I still break my neck when I see a Titan XD on the road. Spent a lot of time lusting after them and waiting for it to be released. It's like seeing an ex, lol. I've talked to a couple guys in XDs while sitting in my truck and both have been happy with theirs. The first guy had the blue color I love and he said he traded in his 2012 Ram for the XD.
They just want to see what kind of idiot actually paid money for that truck. They don’t want to ask you questions they want to laugh at you and your toy truck that you think is a big boy truck! 😂
The 2500 with the short bed and 68rfe transmission isn't rated to tow 18,000lbs. The only SRW ram's that are rated to tow 18k are the 3500 crew cab long beds with the AISIN transmission.
+John Doe Low 17s according to Ram. The SRW 3500s benefit from increased payload, mostly.
PNWreckage Umm I'm looking at the numbers right now. Horsepower: 370 hp @ 2,800 rpm
Towing capacity: 11,390 lbs
Engine: 6.7 L 6-cylinder diesel
Curb weight: 6,444 lbs
Torque: 800 lb-ft @ 1,600 rpm
Dimensions: 237-259″ L x 79-80″ W x 76-81″ H
Unless ram is lying to me?

Here it is. I was thinking that wasn't right cuz the 6.4 hemi boasts it can tow that. Hell, the 6.0 v8 GM offers is capable of 13k. So I was wondering what was up. I'd heard the cummins was detuned for all 2500s and 3500s with the g56 and 68rfe transmissions but I didn't think it was so detuned it'd only be able to pull 11k.
I see ya cruise the Or city area! Hah! I live a couple of miles from there! What's your milage with your 17 rig?
+E. Simons Eagle eye lol. I just got 20.5mpg round trip from our area to central Oregon and back and am averaging mid 19s mixed city and highway. Not quite done with the break-in yet and it's cool to see it improve a little each week.
btw, im super jealous of your ram, im wanting to go with that kind of look with color match everything once i start my build. Awesome truck man.
I am curious why so many Titan XD owners have watched and commented on this
I average 18 mpg in mine, pulls my 28ft boat without any issues, take off is exactly what I'd expect from any truck... All I've changed is air filter swap to k & n.
I test one a few weeks ago. Now keep in mind that I went into the test drive thinking that it was going to be the best overall truck to buy. Especially considering the warranty they offer. It was not at all what I was expecting. The steering sucked, the transmission was really clunky, the infotainment system sucked, it didn't ride all that well, and quite frankly it felt pretty gutless. I test drove the Tundra and the F-150 right after that, they were leaps and bounds above the Titan. It just isn't refined like I was expecting. Very disappointing test drive.
+Jeffrey Zimmerman The poor steering really surprised me. Thank you for sharing your experience!
A couple things that make me go, hmmmm....
1. You seem to focus heavily on mileage, like its one of the Titan's biggest weakness, yet you're willing to spend gobs more money to purchase a true HD? I'm willing to bet you spent at least $5K, possibly up to $10K more for an equally optioned RAM Cummins. That buys a lot of diesel, especially since the real MPG difference is say 2 MPG. Note, I came out of a '15 Dmax and my XD gets better mileage than that as well as better mileage than my brothers '16 F250 so its on par with most of the HDs out there and given its as heavy, it shouldn't be expected to get much better. I don't have personal experience with a RAM, but if MPGs are really as good as you and Gerb claim, I'm sort of surprised more fleets aren't moving in that direction as it would be a significant savings.
2. You talked about the XD being an acceleration pig. While it definitely is not going to win any races against any HDs or for that matter most 1/2 tons, its definitely adequate. From 0 - 40 mph, its pretty much on par with any HD I've been in, after that, its slower, but again not so much that it affects everyday driving, towing, etc. I just find it ironic that guys will complain about the XD being slower off the line, but in the same breath complain about a small MPG difference as if hard acceleration isn't going to affect MPGs.
My focus was really on the fact that you're compromising mileage AND power, which to me is unacceptable. Comparable XDs could be had for a few thousand less than my 2016, and now it's probably closer to 5k less than what I paid for my 2017. Just my opinion and I am still really happy.
I had a Nissan Titan XD cummins and I have never hated it been so dissatisfied with a truck before. I picked it up used at 25k miles and sold it back to the dealer at 36,500 miles. It missed a lot points, the electronics suck, sensors constantly going out. I couldn’t put mine in 4WD cuz of wheel sensors. Limited power and notifications to see dealer for DEF sensors. Inaccurate gauges. Brake lights wouldn’t work on rear while turn signals did and third brake light did. Windshield washer motor going out. It was never ending and when you live over 150miles from a Nissan dealer and they are difficult to work with on warranty issues I couldn’t do it anymore. I have never got a rid of a truck so fast. But worth it, even losing money with paying the taxes and registration on a different truck in probably still money ahead in the long run…. I should’ve crashed it into an embankment so a dealer can’t sell it to some poor soul thinking they got a good truck.
Small fuel tank. Small fuel nozzle
Gutless, and turbo lag. have to wind it up to pass anyone on highway.
Electronics are trash.
Don’t buy one. I’m sure we all didn’t get lemons the truck just sucked.
I bought a Titan XD Diesel and can’t be happier. Towing more than 10k pounds that’s more than your horse trailer and horse put together 😂
Christian! Poking around on YT looking at Nissan trucks.....and there u b!!! Hope haul is well Christian!!!! Miss your mug!
I took a road trip 6hr drive and got 21.0, which was not bad for a cummins.
Nissan bought out Cummins with contract one of the best ideas ever for Nissan they are cheaper than a dodge an a ford but don’t get me wrong I’m a ford fan n waiting to buy my first titan diesel
The Z was the best part of this video.
+Brian Heiden I see what you did there and will get Z videos going as soon as I can
great video your honesty is much needed in a world of political correctness
What truck are you driving
+Mr. Too Cool it's outlined in the video but a 2017 Ram 2500 Cummins Laramie
Why so much hate on this totally accurate video?? I am in total agreement PNWreckage. I have a 18 3500 srw limited cc LB with the aisin and it is an absolute beast of a truck. Like you said do I need that much power probably not but why would I give up payload, towing capacity and an 8ft bed to save 10k??? And get the same mileage. Empty I average 22 which is phenomenal in my book. I really enjoy your videos keep up the good videos! I watched a lot of your videos before ordering my truck and guess what?! Mine doesn't have a sunroof either! 👍🏼
+jethrobodine011 absolutely love this comment! Hahaha thanks man and I'm stoked to hear your truck is doing well and is sunroof free! Congrats on your purchase
I get 23.5 on the highway and 14.5 pulling my 12000lb cargo trailer. Perhaps you need to alter your driving style
the 2500 heavy duty Cummins Ram is definitely the way to go it's a proven truck you think that Toyota is bad on gas put a load on it and then see how bad it is
+Mario's Hobbies Agreed, you can almost watch the needle move toward empty
there are plenty of vidoes about trucks going into the shop three and four times for them to be reprogrammed and I drove and like the power but I am driving a old truck so any new power seems like a lot but they don't have the option like the f150 limited and plantium have
+Jonathan Watts Got it, yes the software sucks big time. Have you driven any of the 3/4 ton trucks?
If they wanna compete they just need to go all out and make a full line of the 3 sizes
They can't for tax purposes and lack of volume sold they would bankrupt themselves it's why they are doing away with the commercial vans in the US. The XD is actually far more capable than what it's rated for. It's why people who tow with it says it toes so much better. Also u don't need 500hp and 800lb/ft of torque. Higher class trucks got by with just 300 hp for years and still do.
9 minutes wasted. A fabulous guy that won't stop talking about nothing
Come out of the closet already!!!
I have a 2015 Ram 2500 diesel, might get 15mpg mixed driving. It is what it is. They all suck in their own way. Enjoy what you have.
What gets me is that the Nissan Titan xd has the same trans as the one ton and up dodges so it is more than capable
I don’t buy a truck for mpg honestly. The Nissan Titan XD Diesel will have less problems than Dodge! Dodge has a huge bad reputation.
With a tune and emissions delete they can be powerful and produce similar fuel economy lmao.
Anyone that Has a Titan (yr16-19) should visit Nissan dealerships. They have updates on the ECM/TCM. My truck runs better than before. Shifts better & kicks better like my 2005 Titan.
My stock '15 2500 Cummins only averaged 16.7 mostly highway but I have a heavy foot.
you said your getting 24 hwy? Dam man i do mixed driving between city and hwy and im only averaging 15.4mpg, On the hwy at 70 im hitting around 19.5 atleast on my meter. Ive never actually dont math at the pump. I usually get about 400 to 480 in town however on a 26 gallon tank
I know its a 31 gallon tank btw, But i can never seem to get the pump to fill over 26.8 gallons. Even if i run my truck almost dry: 2017 Ram 2500
+Josh Carter I think they're super conservative with the gauge since it is such a damn nightmare if you run a diesel out of fuel. I have seen 28 gallons at the pump when it has been beyond empty.
+Josh Carter I would definitely recommend doing the math just to see. Stock tires?
I Have 35/12.50/18's so i knew i was going to get less fuel economy with those tires. However i was not expecting almost 5 mpg >.< lol Thats ok the truck looks sweet though!
So because its bad on gas...
ya I looked at the xd too I loved the seats and feel but power was not there. I have a 2015 f150 3.5 eco loaded and its just as capable if not more then the xd and I get on a trip 22 to 26 mpgs depending on Hills and around town I would say 18 to 20 mpgs. and the ford ride is so much better. there gonna have a hard time taking over ford customers and now ford is putting a diesel in the f150 so I would say Nissan better make this truck more tempting to buy or it won't last
derrin roberge lmao.... it will take Ford 10 years to work the bugs out of that new 1/2 ton diesel and likely another class action law suit. They can’t do anything right the first time when it comes to their diesel engines!
Nice Z man!
We bought my wife a Nissan Versa and we went there in my 16 2500 and the asked if I was trading. I don't think I've ever laughed that hard!! I won't get into the language I used to describe what I think of Nissan. But if you want a good laugh go look at their stuff lol
No facts just bullshit should be the title.
A better diesel truck American car makers don't make.
I have never driven a better pickup.
It will pull with anything. The 97 dodge maybe the best diesel drive train, but the truck itself is complete junk compared to the Nissan.
all the bodies I seen the xd tramission is junk and the parts take so long to get the truck spends more time in the shop than most the truck dealers around where live lots of used xd's
+Jonathan Watts 100% agreed about the time in the shop. I've only heard positives about the Aisin though, can you share more?
2019 Nissan is killing this truck. So.....Like I stated before get a real truck
I always thought it looked more like the 2012 or so gmc 3/4 tons I don't see the Ford resemblance. Isuzu chevy and nissan always had pronounced cut lines and boxed fenders. Ford has actually mimicked other automakers and it's why the new superduties look so good and the chevrolets so God awful ugly. Ford is just the most popular so it's why it's the chicken of automobiles. Everything tastes like ford lol.
Because you drive a ford escort for 20 Yrs
it is all good till you get nothing on trade in.
I am still a ram fan, I now have a 16 ram 1500. I had a 15 for a short time which I paid 47k had a couple issues traded back in after 8 months and only got 26k. that was the best offer with only 38k miles on it. they cost a lot to buy but when it comes to trade in, you get back more from a Ford or GM. I have a feeling two or three years from now, Nissan will bring in a better trade value than Ram.
+Robert Chapman That is rough, sorry man. If you get a chance to check out my total loss video there is some related information.
SUSCRIBED!! 👍👍
14,000lbs towing* 18k is for the 3500 SRW.
+FosterStrongman Check out the Towing Guide on the Ram Trucks website. Towing capacity is greater than 17,000lbs for the 2500 crew cab. The 3500SRW has a higher payload capacity, mostly.
My bad, Was looking at the 17 Megacab, what i have. The devil is in the details. Interesting that the crewcab has another 3,000lbs +/- towing over the Megacab.
+FosterStrongman No worries and i agree, that is really surprising that the Mega is that much lower.
Blah blah blah
You dont even tow with your truck. Mph buy a Honda. Dont buy a truck for Mpg. Truck for work, car for travel to work. F150 sucks for towing , Dodge sucks period , Chevy great for a truck to work out of. Xd great for towing and sucks to work out of. The bed to to high.
Like and Whatever.....
+Paul Rucker Hard to hear yourself on recording when you hear all of the annoying things you say. I worked on that for later videos
another cry baby about milage! it v8 ! I have 2016 titan xd pro4x gas lift and get 20mpg. why would buy a v8 truck and cry gas mileage! !!! so sad nuff said !!!!
+jason gonzales If you'd watched, you would know this is about the Cummins variant. The problem is that I get as good or better mileage in a more powerful truck with a larger displacement inline 6. I don't understand how anyone can argue for the XD in that context.
@@PNWreckage Ok I get you. The fuel mileage isn’t what it should be, fair enough. But what is the actual problem with the engine? On paper it should be reliable, I mean it is a Cummins with the Aisin transmission.
He never says anything and has no facts. Tell me what is wrong with (real facts).
DO NOT buy the Nissan Titan Diesel some have cold start problems and Nissan will do NOTHING to help you. Their solution plug it in below 32 f, REALLY, how do I do that at work in a large parking lot? That is why I sold mine. On line a guy that uses his to go hunting has to keep a generator in the bed of the truck to warm the engine with a block heater to get it to start.
Lol
Love my Tundra! just saying lol
+fran2395437 Hahaha no hate here, just had those pictures from when my friend thought he could trust me with it
Get to the point
Nissan is owned by Renault
the best i ever got was 21.3 mpg on a 400 mile trip. The best i got in my ram, which was a couple weeks ago was 25.5 mpg on the same trip, so 400 mile trip. thanks for the mention haha, idk how i came across your vid.
+Gerb It haha awesome, my bad on the off figure
