- On August 29th, SSI announced the opening of our second club in Australia at @unsw_ssi with our chapter president and club founder Daniel Melamed.
Last night, Daniel represented SSI by speaking in front of 500 people at his university student government hearing regarding a resolution to divest from Israel. While the motion did ultimately pass, Daniel and SSI spoke truth to power by representing the state of Israel and standing up to bigotry, hatred, and the Hamas/Hizbollah supportive student body.
All worldwide, from the United States to Canada, to Israel and Australia. SSI will continue to stand up, speak up, and fight back against the hatred for the Jewish people. Pro-Israel. Grassroots. Movement.

The full text of the speech:
"As the President of Students Supporting Israel and an Israeli citizen, I stand before you today to express our strong opposition to the motions being put forward, which aim not at peace, but at the destruction of Israel and the Jewish people.
These motions do not call for the release of hostages or the dismantling of Hamas, a terrorist organization, recognized as such by the Australian government, nor do they condemn the horrific atrocities of October 7.
When we attend pro-Palestinian protests, we often hear chants like "Intifada" - a call that historically represents violence against Jews; or "from the river to the sea" - which calls for the dismantling of Israel, the only Jewish State in the world.
We will not accept these calls for our destruction.
When students for Palestine call for "free Palestine" ask them, what will happen to the 7 million Jews currently living in Israel? These motions before us today are misleading.
You chant "ceasefire now," but if you truly wanted a ceasefire you would call for the release of hostages, the dismantling and surrender of Hamas, and the disarming of the Iranian regime proxies, including Hamas, Hezbollah, Islamic Jihad.
This war will end as soon as these conditions are met. This was never about weapons or arms companies. This meeting was about the destruction of my hone country of Israel.
Israel is not fighting the Palestinian people. It is fighting Hamas, the terrorist organization that it is, which uses human shields.
As students, we should be promoting dialogue, mutual understanding, and peace. These motions don't do anything for that.
Am Yisrael Chai!
Thank you very much."
