Yeah, I wouldn’t call them a hero. They waited a whole minute and 18 seconds to decide to do anything and just video taped it while it struggled and couldn’t breathe. Yes they saved it in the end but think about this. Imagine you were drowning and were unable to save yourself and somebody comes along and saves you but only after they take a video of you drowning for a minute and 18 fucking seconds. How would you feel towards that person after that? Would you still consider them a hero?! Sharks may not have the same thinking capacity of human beings but they are still living breathing creatures just like us. Screw the fucking video and the likes you would get from it you are prioritizing content over the consideration of the agony another living organism is expressing. That goes for the person who took this video as well. It’s just selfish allow someone or something to continue suffering longer just so that people can recognize you as some sort of hero for doing it. It’s absolutely disgusting.

@@Sijakura actually I would not. I have had plenty experience working with larger reptiles in the past while volunteering with the herp society with a friend of mine. Snakes, and large lizards may not be the same as sharks but when working with them you have a good chance of getting bitten while working with them, especially when they have been abused. I will tell you, with some animals like water monitors and bigger tegus it really does hurt like a son of a bitch to get bitten, but that is also just part of handling them and and after some time it doesn’t really frighten you as much anymore, and I doubt that would change in this circumstance. Also, even if this isn’t the case for the people in the video, there are plenty of other good ways to go about this that don’t include the risk of getting bitten, like in this case, he could have easily found something long to nudge it with that wouldn’t hurt the shark like a surfboard or something else and it wouldn’t be too hard to do that if he timed it with the tide. But no, he was too busy with his head up his ass thinking about the views he would get to consider such an easy solution so don’t give me bullshit about me being afraid to so jack in that situation because this is just stupid. Besides the only time he looked scared at all was after he was finished taking pictures, you could see his entire attitude change.

      Not Human. Not Humanity.
He is a man. He is one of mankind.
Mankind as a label is quite different than " humanity" as a label.
Mankind was created to care for the rest of creation, iIncluding all animals.
"Human" is a term created by the so- callled " elites" to label God" s pinnacle of creation, mankind, as nothing more than a herd animals
Mankind and womankind are much more than mere animals..we did not evolve from animals.
We were created unique and peculiar. For we were designed with a purpose and a plan.

Good job getting that blue dog back in the ocean. Such a sad sight to see this fish in distress. I grew up at sea on my dad's commercial fishing boat. Every chance I got I would go out with my dad and the crew. Blue Sharks are one of the most common of sharks off the coast of southern California. They eat the same thing tuna eat. We would hook onto them all the time. We would get the hook out of them and release them. Seen some huge blue shark out there. Some 8 to 10 feet. Once again. Great job getting him back out off the beach. Shark are very intimidating to say the least. It was a dangerous rescue.

No living thing should suffer when it can be saved. No telling what this shark did after this. Could've been caught in a net and hour later and finned, gutted and thrown down in an ice hold of a boat. Could still be swimming. People that can watch something suffer and do nothing about it not even at the very least ask for someone to help are the type of people who wipe their ass and sniff the toilet paper.

I cannot understand how there is even ONE comment about them standing around and wait a few minutes before helping the shark.
I mean isn't it blatantly obvious why? Look at how the shark is thrashing about at the beginning, anyone saving it would be in serious danger of losing a limb or taking a nasty bite.
It was the right call to wait a bit for it to calm down and then drag it out into the ocean to save it.

Its hard for people with little to no experience with sharks to know their bite radius. Also it falls back on fight or flee and this particular shark want to flee but can't. I've seen sharks beach themselves trying to eat birds. One was a 7 ft tiger shark. It was a beautiful animal. Heavy as well lol. It took 4 of us to pull it back it water deep enough for it to swim away. One of those four was a woman but she has been around these type sharks her entire life so her experience was much needed. I wish I had video but its stuck in my memory forever so I'm content with that.
