Autumn Leaves, Chet Baker';s Transcription. CD: Together/Chet Baker/Paul Desmond (1974). Transcribed by Carles Margarit
Magnificent performance and sound of a great composition. Thank you.
In love with Atumn leaves😍😍 Chet Baker fan lols
Pull the tuning slide out as far as it goes and this is spot on!
;-)
lmao
I got into NJ Region III Jazz band with this solo in 1981. It is up a whole step here. The solo was published in the book " 28 Modern Jazz Trumpet Solos". I still know most of it by heart...
What a cool memory! Almost 40 years ago, and you still remember the whole thing. That, my friend, is impressive!
sick exercise to try and play this classic in this key, really opens your brain and trumpet knowledge ;)
I love this song
Why are some commenters complaining? It was originally in Cm (concert). Now it's done in a lot of keys. This is a great transcription. Some guys just want to be spoon fed. Be greatful that the knowledge is available. HEAR what's happening & work it out for yourself. Mom can't help you on the job.
tres beau morceaux
The famous Hungarian song Hulló falevél writen by Kozma József-J.Cosma-musician-movie song writer.Born in Hungary-Budapest 1905-1933 moved to france, and past away 1969 in France-A két szemét még most is látom...

Grazieeeee!!!!!!!
Thanks 🙂
Chet Baker's recording is definitely in F minor
Oh my. I already learn this solo on this key, I don't say it was a waste of time but, what the hell...
pretty sure the (Bb) in the title is referring to the tuning of the instrument since trumpet is pitched in Bb, right? So the title isn't referring to the key signature
B-flat refers to B-flat trumpet.
@@durpify5300 the Bb in the title is referring to the tuning of a trumpet, however, the video is in concert G minor (A minor for trumpet), whereas the recording is in concert F minor (G minor for trumpets)
Regardless, if this is in the original key or not (i.e. F min), it doesn't take much effort to transpose back to the original key. I appreciate and am thankful for your channel. Thank you for uploading. (BTW : please don't get discouraged by these negative comments. Some people are just never satisfied or happy, in this life. It's just their nature :-)).
To all the fmin people - nearly every jazz band plays it in Gmin (Concert) as it is here. This makes it much more useful transcription even if it isn't faithful to the original
Big true
So true, isn't a waste of time at all.
lol why did you change the recording to a different key? and no im not talking about it being transposed for Bb trumpet. if you listen to the actual recording you can hear the difference

Pretty sure this version is in concert F minor.
Thanks for you.lovo jazz!
I play sax!
00:22 skip the intro
NO....the Album was "She Was Too Good to Me".... possibly a different take, though....
Yup that's the great Bob James on Electric Piano (and arrangement)
ok

It LITERALLY says in the title of the video that it is a Bb transcription, transcribed for a Bb trumpet.
Original recording was in F minor.
@@playdead8734 *this* recording is in G minor (concert) which the original also is...
Hello, nice job! How did you get permission to use the original track from the music management rights company?
It appears that he didn't, because the song is keyed differently then the original recording. I would infer that he did that to avoid the copyright bots noticing.
@@wesgibson5235 No, this was done because the song is typically played in Gmin, not F like the original recording. It's more useful to analyze the song in Gmin instead of F because it will be more practical for you to know it in G min when you are on the bandstand playing with others.
Jamal Hasan I mean to a certain extent yes but it’s also played in E minor (Realbook style) so it’s just unusual they wouldn’t of put it in F minor or just transcribed the Cannonball recording

The original recording is in F minor...
The notation is in Amin, the title says Bb (the key? The horn?), and the audio is Gmin. It took me so long to play to this track...
why isn't this in the right key
Milko Slavov it's in the right key just not the original one. I guess Chet preferred to play this song in this key
No he's right the first note would be a concert F, not a concert G.
It's transposed for Bb instruments since trumpet is a Bb instrument
ua-cam.com/video/sgn7VfXH2GY/v-deo.html it’s in F minor. This one must have been sped up to G minor. It would be easier in this key!
On the first measure, why does it say 4/4 but it only has three counts
its a pickup measure, you can see the 2 barlines after it
Del compás 32 al 36 mágicamente?
jajajajaja
Why was the audio for this track shifted up by an entire tone? This track is from "She Was Too Good To Me" for sure, not an alternate take. Just wondering, transcription is fine, just a tone up from the actual track on the album.
@Jordi Husemann-Roviro but in the original recording, the whole piece is shifted down. The first note of the Solo is a Bb, but in this one it is a C (Trumpet pitches). And it is the same recording if you were wondering.
see my note above. A mistake in transposition I think.
I came here after Taehyung said he really likes chet baker.
What is. This
m42, the &of 4....should be a concert G...not F
name of drummer?
Steve Gadd

@@MegaJorgeQ Yes, you can check it in the video description of the original
