In my opinion, you should try to scout carry your knife. Probably the best way to go for now Only requires one hand to access. It can go behind the back or in the front but instead of up and down, sideways. For you, right handed draw, obviously.
Heard of your injury from Sean Kelly over at Corporal’s Corner UA-cam channel. Hoping you have a speedy recovery and a successful outcome.🙏 stay strong!
Me too
Me three.
I am glad that you are going to be able to get the needed surgery done. I will say a prayer that all goes well and you make a good recovery!
As far as racking the slide, practice with the gun unloaded but you can rack it via the rear sights off your belt, a stable table, boulder, even the heel of ur boot
Corporals Corner channel gave you a Shout out last week.
Blessings
I had a small stroke and lost left hand mobility. Took me two years to get back to functionality. You have my best wishes for your recovery.
Corporals Corner Loves you so we all love you . Keep your head up!!!!!!!
Love LT Wright!!!!
Hey man, God loves you. Youre in my prayers
The corporal sent me. Speedy recovery!
Praying for your recovery
Glad you are doing better! 🤝👊🏽
Love your way James.
Having injured my arm a few years ago....I can respect and appreciate all the things you are doing to manage one-handed. A note of encouragement: healing will come, it may not be totally be as before the injury, but healing will come.
Get healed up soon James!🙏🏻
Hey James I hope you’re feeling better
Get better soon. Nice shirt, knife and pistol !
Good to see you keeping at it, even in the face of challenges. Lots of people are pulling for you, and wish you the best, James. Heal well, my friend.
James, keep up the great work!!
I hope you feel better soon.. Thanks for the update on the EDC.
Another good video James. Hope you get that operation soon. Wishing you the best.
congrats on the surgery! Don't skimp on the rehab work once you are cleared to start. the harder you work, the better the result!
I hope you are feeling better and I hope you will heal soon.
👍👍same hand carpal tunnel no joke.what is your opinion on the shoulder strap ? Do you think it will last? Maybe braid some parachute cord for a strap that could be used for extra cordage if needed. I really like the haversack .Good luck with your surgery hope all goes well.
Take it easy on that hand, good luck with the surgery and please heal up well and quickly my friend.
This is gonna be great!!!🎉🎉🎉
Cpl Kelly sent me here, and like everyone else would like to wish you a speedy recovery. As far as racking the slide on that Sig, there's a drill you can practice with the pistol unloaded, and it's fairly simple. Just crouch into the kneeling and with your finger off the trigger (very important!!!) place the slide inside the bend of your knee while making sure the barrel is clear of your body and push the gun to rack the slide. You can also reload the pistol one handed this way, holding it inside your knee to introduce a new mag and then rack. Also, don't be afraid to shop around for a firearm that's easier to pull the slide back on (Glocks IMO are great for this). I recommend practicing this for the first time with either a knowledgeable buddy or a trusted range instructor, just to make sure you have redundancy in safety, which is always good with firearms. Just wanted to share this little bit of knowledge, and hope it ticks and item off your list so you can focus on recovering. Best wishes.
Best and most useful comment. Thank you. I will practice this drill.
Nice job James👍👍 I know it's a PITA being one handed at the moment but it will get better. Glad a date has been set for medical, good deal. Great gear to take with you EDC, can always modify when needed. Thanks for the trouble filming, knowing it wasn't easy shows the determination. See ya soon.
Love the minimalist kit I try to go as slight as possible. Awesome video James. You’re in my prayers.
I like the softness of well-worn and distressed bandanas, so cool, and they dry quickly.
Keeping you in my prayers, James. Sending good thoughts for your upcoming surgery and recovery.
Just subscribed to your channel yesterday, and I like your idea about having a notebook and something to write with. I do the same thing at work myself, and have decided th a t whenever I am out bushcrafting, hiking, or camping, I'm going to make sure I have one of mine with me then as well, because like yourself, I often get some of my best ideas for stuff during the day while I'm working either y her on my steady 9-5, or around the house on the weekends and during vacation time. I have several that are filled since I started seriously doing more things like this back in 2008. I also keep a journal of my activities related to survival, bushcrafting, and preparedness. Both are a great way to document your work and your ideas from the time that you start, and I've found that they not only help you to remember important things, but they also help you to remain focused on your activities, as well as show you just how far you've come in your life's journey.
Hey James heard about you on Corprols corner. Wishing you a speedy recovery and continued success. Life battles are lost only by giving up. Glad to see you're a fighter.
James, hope you heal quickly. Take this opportunity to practice skills with one hand/arm. Train with your fire arm and learn to use your holster to rack it with one hand. This is an opportunity for you to up your skills. Just a thought.
Man, 1 thing I always carry in my truck is a half gallon vacuum insulated water jug. I am a water drinker and it's always full of ice water. Even the cheaper wally world brand will hold ice for days. It's a must have year round here in SE Florida.
Good kit. I hope your surgery goes well James. Keeping in prayers my friend 🙏
Good luck on the surgery, definitely wishing you well and can’t wait to see you back on the up and up afterwards! Stay strong !
Hope all went well with the surger.
Continued prayer for your recovery.
Thanks for your honest demonstrations of gear!
VERY well organized and well thought out. Hope the surgery went well.
Glade see you up and àround
Hope that up coming surgery is a great success.
I like your EDC gear, practical and simple. Stay safe.
Good loadout for where you are. I've been stuck somewhat one-handed once due to a very sensitive thumb injury and it does make you rethink life and how you do things. Prayers for 100% healing ASAP.
Good to see you out and about. Hope you do well with your surgery. I am getting a new knee next month 😊take care
God bless you, James. Be safe.
Glad to see you adapting with your hand and hoping for continued healing! LT Wright flat grinds and their 3/32 convex are my favorites! .
I heard about your channel from the Corporal. I hope that you have complete and speedy recovery.
wishing you well on your upcoming surgery
glad it's going to happen
GOD BLESS
Wishing you well my friend. Cheers
Sure hope your hand heals up soon with great mobility, nice set up for EDC.
Stay Hydrated
Luck on the surgery whilst it the 18 th hope to see out soon Godspeed on the healing
Good luck on your surgery!
Lookin' good James. You're gonna make it through this just fine . Keep on Truckin'.
You should get a water data sticker from Cana provisions for that canteen. Those guys are really ahead of the curve when it comes to water security. They opened my eyes to a lot of loopholes I had in my plan.
Great video again. Lots of info. Something to do. Just a layouts of 4 day camping no vehicle. Glad I found you. Take care. God bless.
Hope your surgery went well. Heal fast 🙏
Bedankt
Get well soon brother
Good vid and best wishes for a full and speedy recovery. God bless.
Hey James, great video! I have not spent a lot of time in a desert environment, but I have spent a little and the one thing that I would add is some type of glove to protect my hands from the pokey sticky things.
Think about an inexpensive revolver with your injury, it may be more practial
How is that more practical?
Just wondering...
With a semi auto pistol if he gets a stovepipe round or has to rack the slide for any reason that would be very difficult with his injured hand. Revolvers tend to have less malfunctions. It's a trade off though, much less ammunition and longer reload times
Good to see you in a new vid. Much prayers bro.
so glad you're getting the surgery and hopefully full mobility and minimal nerve damage. Really like your upbeat and positive attitude!! Get well soon!
Will be thinking of you tomorrow. Hope things go well and you make a rapid full recovery!
Great video keep up the faith I'm buying a junkyard mug on Thursday to support you as a fellow El Pasoan I know the struggle
Great EDC. One thing to add just as a precaution and since you use a haversack. Add some sort of food or candy for energy on you adventures. I always carry some Raman noodles with a packet of diced applewood chicken.
I've got that hat and it works like a champ. I also have two versions of the 'Shapeflexer" hats. with the latest one to be shipped in July. If you can afford it, the Six Moon Designs Gatewood cape is both poncho and tarp. Has guyout points on the corners, and the hood can be cinched tight. I love mine. Good items to have outside. Hope the hand heals right up, and you get full function back. Take my fellow Texan.
After hearing of your injury i decided to going your Patreon hopefully you recover soon 🤙🏼
Hope you get well soon!
Very cool kit!
Happy to hear that your treatment is finally progressing... Wishing you a speedy recovery! 🙏🏻
Great EDC James!
Best of luck on your recovery. Enjoying your content.
Corporal sent me, all the best in your recovery, new subscriber as well due to corporal’s referral! All the best!
Great overview of your gear, I'll be immediately heading over to the Hidden Woodsman to check out their stuff, it looks like they have some good options. I can't wait to hear how the surgery went!
🤔 time to revisit gear that's one handed... ❤❤🙏👍🏻🙏🙏🙏😊
Read up on nutrients to help nerve injury. B-vitamins, C, Alpha Lipoic Acid 500 mg, omega-3, olive oil 2-3 tablespoons each day , etc. take them for up to a year after injury and surgery.

The case you made for why you have a 2a device is very reasonable as a person who isn’t 2a and a non American citizen I appreciate that I came to watch your videos due to a plea from Shawn Kelly on Corporals Corner
I bought a flip side 4 wallet years ago love it still like new condition you would love it
Practice one hand reloads. Holster weapon, change mag, and use rear site to rack a round off the heel of your boot while kneeling, or you can try using your belt.
Excellent video and very well thought out EDC for your area. I wanted to comment about a super neat daybag that I was given at our local hospital after my Fiancée gave birth early in June. It's made by Enfamil and designed to hold baby stuff, milk/formula/diapers ect but I commandeered it for use as my new daybag/EDC bag and it works awesome! It's compact, lightweight and insulated/waterproof and very un-tactical looking for those who don't want to draw attention. It only has 3 compartments but for use as just a daybag it works extremely well, and they are free in some places or
Thanks!
Make a junk yard fox bandana, i'd buy it if it helps you during your recovery
I’d snag a couple, if you can source them USA made.
Cool idea you may want to use, on your p-38 can opener, take a 6 inch piece of black electrical tape and wrap around it. Keeps the blade closed (no cuts or holes in your clothes) and you have electrical tape on hand. Keep the duct tape on the lighters…
Love your channel , one of the few that shows the Texas style of terrain. Would love to see a central Texas Hill Country episode just north of Austin..
Heal well fast and true.
Wishing you well James. Hope your hand fully heals. Once again you deliver an epic EDC. The boots you're wearing are sharp👌😎. Look like the kind of boots I would wear out and about. I know you prefer your cowboy boots but it never hurts to have variety in your footwear.
Hope you got your arm taken care of 🙏🙏🙏 definitely looking forward to what you bring to your channel next time 🤙🤙🤙
If you ever lost the use a hand in wild 🤔 this is great information. One handed items and their placement about your body, taking notes. 🥰
Shawn Kelly sent us over🎉
And I love gadgets!❤❤❤❤
Really like watching your videos and happy birthday
Beautiful tent shot.
Hope the hand heals quickly
Awesome to see Shawn from Corparal Corner giving you a shout out! Prayers!
Mt man here 👍👍 good job
Great Video!!!!
You should get one of the CANA provisions canteen 1 qt water data card sticker for that Nalgene. They make one just for canteens now.
It's good to have a Marine watching your six!
Corporal Kelly has yours! You guys put out the best videos! One of my favorites was the city stealth camp on the fire escape.
Now, go out and get yourself well!
Like I told before wishing you full and speedy recovery. About the EDC kit. I think it's heavy on tools. I count 3 blades and 2 saws including the multitool that has a blade and saw. I think one flashlight is enough also. Of course carry water but also some food even if it's just some energy bars. Maybe a boo boo kit?
James will have his EDC on him during surgery… 😁
Well done brother
Hope you’re doing great Bro, Sent you a little something. I know everything helps, God bless 🙏🏼
You can rack the slide with your clothing, bro. Just pass a "hooky" point of the slide thru an "edge" of your clothing, like a pocket "brim" or something, just like how a Emerson Wave knife works. Try it.
