I think change in terms of selection policy. More players from Phoenix Academy. Craig Butler spoke to a bias in that regard. However i would think that it is the coach and not JFF that does team selection. I don't think this coach would tolerate JFF interference in team selection. However turning down an opportunity to play in the worlds biggest most prestigious football tournament will not help his career in any way, and he knows this so i do believe if he sees the team doing well without him he will want to return.

I think differently. I believe he is taking a stand by sacrificing his international career to force a change in how things are done. Martin Luther King was an unpopular figure among the Black population for wanting change, and White America viewed him with an evil eye for demanding changes and and civil rights. Leon is no MLK but his stance is somewhat comparable to the fight for justice and betterment. Years from now, even if Leon never plays again for the ReggaeBoyz, history will absolve him and mention him as the agent of change in how the JFF operates and treats the players.

Jamaicans we like to use ego. But, as a coach Leon Bailey will be in the squad because it makes sense for the future of our program. We have not provide for these players from grassroots up to the national team. We need him to speak out for change. Ricardo Fuller and other top players been saying this. We will keep being average if we don’t build out our football system. Too many great Jamaican players just leave without saying anything because the fear of retaliation. If it was about playing football alone he would never have left.
