I know you talked about a snow blower for your deck. Maybe instead of a snow blower, look at an electric powered snow shovel. As for the cats, you can fluid them cat shelters using a rubber made container, put a white styform cooler inside of it, with straw in it. Obviously, you need to cut holes in the for the cats to get in and out. Check UA-cam. You will see people making them. I hope you have the cats fixed so you don't have any more kittens.
Love the 2nd Amendment closet area, great work it's beautiful. So so so much snow, it is beautiful too and the beautiful silence the mountains and snow make and of course B E A U tiful southern Utah. Love you guys, stay warm and stay safe. ❤🤍💙
PLEASE get a longer handle for the broom used to remove snow from the solar panels to keep him off the ladder. Plowing the road looks like a losing battle but it's besautiful.
Been MIA for a minute but catching up. All I can say is Yessss! More Exploring with the kiddos! As fellow Southern Utah property owners and avid off-roaders I support this!
Whatever you build for the cats use straw for bedding as it’s easy to change. Don’t use cloth or rags as they get wet and freeze and provide no warmth. I use old coolers and cut a hole in the side so they can come and go. That way you can lift lid to clean it out.
If there is a way to catch the snow and turn it into water to put into your water tanks..You all have a lot of snow up there and if you can think of a way to do this..😊😊
Going up the hill backwards, tractor has only one gear, going up forward you have more gears to choose from to move faster. The box blade is for leveling gravel out on the road and pads. Go forward and use the bucket and when it gets to be too much push it off the road and start again. If you can afford it get a blower or at least a blade that you can angle to push snow off the road. Then you might need chains too.
I believe your water level is just to low to compensate the amount of water you are using now. As your house was not finished and no applliances was running the pump had not to run that often. Now when your pump kicks on it sucks always a tiny bit of air and thats maybe the problem with the presure tank.
Have you considered adding a PVC pipe as an extension to the broom for brushing the panels? ❤ Is the snow safe to melt in your water tanks and store as drinking water?
Use I big plastic tote with a lid. Cut a hole in one side cover with a flap of some kind. Fill it about half way up with straw sit it on ur deck or wherever on top of a small stand and there you go a cheap cat shelter that works pretty good
Thank you for your service but wanted to ask why you elected to leave the Air Force after fourteen years of service I got out after seven years but reentered the AF and stayed 22yrs retiring in 1993. Love following you guys wish these opportunities were available when I was your age
I live in Wisconsin you probably need a ATV with plow or a old truck with plow. I have a mile driveway that I plow with ATV with chains on back tires and never had a problems.
Just a thought. At your solar panels, take a rope (wire or cable will scratch the surface) and one person at each end, put the rope at the top and move it down. Work back and forth and you might see all the snow come off at the same time. They do this in parts of Europe. Also, I believe there is a way to heat the metal frames of the panels to melt the snow. Just a thought.
I’m telling the truth , I was so worried when your guys didn’t not install the patio handrail, I thought the kids and dog may slipped in to the snow and get hurt , your dog❤ he is adorable , snow is slippery, but you finished it before winters come , great channel ❤
Have you thought of building a simple platform behind your solar panels to make snow removal easier? Maybe a winch on the outside of your deck for lifting things like firewood up? Of course it may not be practical but hey it's a thought!
A UA-cam channel, 'Outdoors with the Morgan's, has a firewood business and Kubota tractor that is enclosed with a heater and a/c and even a stereo! Something for the wish list maybe. Luv your channel!! Mike in Oregon
What we have here for the cats is a entrance to the shop but is only 1.5ft wide by 6ft and 3ft high. That gives room to put a few beds/warmth of shop and they don't poop where they sleep. lattice for inside walls. No food in there should keep chickens from wanting to come in. Love the closet and the vid!
Guy with talk who people reach out for metal help nick a hero in my eyes and this moment I post just let know where they can go to help our hero because we lose 22 a day to this
In the background when you were filming from the deck, i was able to get an idea of how heavy the snowfall was as I couldn't see any trees or cliff face. I live in an area with no snow, so I enjoyed seeing your area. I initially didn't think the tractor was doing anything until you had to walk it, then I was able to see just how much you removed. Thank you for sharing part of your day. ❤
For sure interested in the exploration of the area, seems like a beautiful place to live. Wouldn't mind some segments on the rig upgrade/swap over but that's just the car guy in me. Keep up the amazing work and enjoy that fire!
Enjoyed the video and the drone shots. Watching Charlie romping in the snow while following you down the hill was fun, he sure had a blast. Nick beat me to it with the comment about not having chains for the tractor. Definitely need them!. Larry, Central Valley, Ca.
Hey little late today I hope you guys are having a good day out there and I'll keep up the good work I'm proud of what you doing hey she likes her storage container and whatever that place is and I'm going to have a great day and have fun and just be careful out there it's snowing and it's wet
Snow looks lovely, but endless clearing, On the Solar panels, have you tried a Leaf Blower to clear the snow?, Maybe make a little insulated kitten house in a corner of the garage for the kittens, !! .Great video fun for us, stay warm Love from UK, SUN shining at end of January today 8 deg, outside. x x.
Looked like a lot of good snow ... please keep it there, don't send it east. We have a taste of spring the other day.. we're ready for that lol. Thanks for letting me come along on the journey..
Aloha from Hawaii, warm here but we did have snow on Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa, comes and goes this time of year. From Ocean View Hawaii on the Big Island.
Nick, you need to get rid of the box blade for snow removal and at a minimum get a 3 pt hitch rear blade, or if you have the funds, a front blade for your loader. The box blade keeps pulling the snow into the rear tires. You probably should have loaded rear tires if you don't already, and tire chains as well if your mountain drive is that steep. You can get rear blades reasonable at Tractor Supply. We left the snow back in PA and moved to SW Utah where we don't have to deal with the white stuff! Stay safe, and warm!
Love the closet by the door! Fabulous. Love the colors and stain you picked!! I was wondering what you will do when you build your house and no one is in the apartment. I’m guessing you’ll still have to shovel because of the snow loads! Is a roof over the deck out of the question?
Well the kitties are not feral. They are domestic, but just outside cats and they do need some warm shelter off the ground with lots of straw (not blankets or beds that will get wet and not dry and then kitties freeze). I don't know how you will keep the chickens out of the cat house though. Do the chickens have a chicken coop to get inside out of the weather? I think I remember seeing it. Chickens put up at night should keep them out of the cats' house. Also make sure the opening is small and away from rain or snow blowing in, also prevent the wind from getting in. I have 5 house cats and one outside kitty that kind of adopted us and we her this fall. She won't come in. She allows me to pet her and she rubs on my legs, but is very skittish. She has a heated cat house that under the patio cover and also windbreaks around it and covered to keep rain or snow off of it when it blows in. Her food is under our big patio swing that shelters it and her. I'm a dog person, but each cat we have was a rescue of some kind. If I had your land and space I'd rescue every critter I could. LOL Love watching your videos and seeing all that you've accomplished.
I really wish you could get your selves a better snow removal machine. A front mounted push blade would be ideal, wide enough so you can put it at a steep angle and your rear tires still stay inside the pushed area, or a rear mounted straight blade, also wide as your tractor can handle, so again, you can run it at a large angle so the snow rolls off. Your box blade really isn't doing a lot more than moving snow around and packing it. The best tool would be a blower that attaches to the front of your tractor, but not sure if your tractor is set up to run it all. Another thought better than all of it except the tractor snow blower wold be to get a blade for the front of your truck. That would be a lot faster than any of them. Chain both the front and rear, and you can fly through the clearing task.
Have we left yet to Utah? LOL LOL I think it sounds like a great idea to rock crawl in Utah.......Trent and Allie......Maybe even see Matt's Off Road Recovery.......Fab Rats......Robby Layton...great You Tube Channels from that area. Family time is so important
enjoy your videos, you need to change your snow removal method , either a front blade or a back blade , The scraper is just making the tractor work harder , need to have a angle blade of some sort so the snow moves off to the side , oe even use the bucket in float mode
I noticed you are constantly having to clean off your solar panels from snow storms. Well they make a thing to fix that issue. Its a solar panel heater. Granted Ive only found one company who sells it so its not a common item or anything. They are called next step electric and they have a heating strip that you attach to the mc4 connectors of your panel and tape it to the back of the panel. Alternatively you can get some seed heating mats and put them along the bottom of the panels. The seed mats come in all sorts of dimensions but crucially they come in 3" x 21" which makes it just about perfect to fit across the bottom of your panels. The best part is the seed mat is fully water proof and only uses 6.5w. So you could string 10 or 15 of them together and plug them all into an outdoor plug and then just turn the outdoor plug on from inside (granted you'll have to run a line to the house from the panels if you dont have one already) and in a few minutes your panels will warm up to 85F and all of the snow will sluff off. As a 3rd and basically free option... tilt your panels up more so the snow doesnt accumulate then tilt them down to your best angle later if needed.
Box scrapers are not ideal for snow. Find a drag blade instead. Or a push blade for the front of the tractor. What’s the plan for the foundation that shows up in the background? Doing anything with that? 😊
New sub Enjoy your video It was exciting to watch you open up-and-down the driveway And then you couldn't make it back up I would put a snowblower on that tractor So have a good day stay healthy stay happy Stay safe And we'll see you on another
I thought you brought the cats there, so they aren't feral cats. You need to make a cat hut, because they will keep going in your garage. That is because it's open, dry and out of the weather. You can make a cat hut with a light in it, to help keep it warm. You should take care of them, because they keep the vermin population down.
Love following you! Perhaps it would be interest sting to see you make some kind of dumb-waiter to auto-lift wood, groceries, and various things from below to above - I would think it get's old carrying every single thing up those stairs! You guys are pretty skillful - maybe some kind of platform with a winch? Doesn't have to be people safe etc. *Removed chain comment* :)
Thank you for your Service..!
you need snowblower for deck like Trent and Allie have

You really need to get a plow or a snowblower for the front of the tractor. You will use it a lot living there on the mountain

and yes you can build a cat house like a dog house and put straw in it lets them stay warm but the cats might now use it but you can try

couldnt you run snow melt water from your water collection roof into your tanks
Yeah man, making memories is what life is all about. Carpe diem!
Build a kittle house with a heater. You also a snowblower attachment for your tractor.

👍👍You’re doing good. Sometimes we have to “make do” with what we have until we get what we really need.
Thank you for taking us on your journey guys!!! So glad to see your smiles and happiness
Put you a rope on the end of broom to do snow removal from solar panels. So you can stand at top and pull back up.
I live in Wisconsin you probably need a ATV with plow or a old truck with plow. I have a mile driveway that I plow with ATV with chains on back tires and never had a problems.
Are you guys considering building a roof over the stairs? Seems like a pain to have to remove the snow every time. 😊

A plow and chains do wonders!
I LIVE IN MANCHESTER,NH WERE GETTING NOR EASTER 8/12 AND ITS MIXED FREZZING RAIN WITH HEAVY SNOW ITS GOING TO MONDAY AFTERNOON
Good morning beautiful family
Take time to enjoy the view.
You guys plowing that much road you need to invest in a snow blade for the front of the tractor loader that will actually angle and push the snow away
just a polite comment.. i almost needed therapy when i saw that guitar warping in the sun behind you. LOL LUV U ALL.
Nick and Jen great video 😊 I see winter finally hit have a great wknd❤️🇨🇦
You should invest in some chains for the tractor

I thought you couldn't be living in the apartment above the garage without the two layers of 5/8 fire rated drywall on the garage ceiling.

I'm a Texas girl. I couldn't imagine this much snow. I'd be calling 911 every 5 minutes. Lol
Some off-road adventures sounds fun. Looking forward to the new content.

I would suggest a 2nd channel for those adventures, people get upset when you switch focuses for whatever reason.
The cool running quote was funny for me being a Jamaican. I dont envy you guys all that snow😅
Wow. Winter...
We visited America over 35 years ago, did Lake powel, Zion and a few other parks. Loved it. So looking forward to your travels

Good morning happy sunny day 👍😎👍❄️❄️❄️✌️🙏🙏
You need some huge windshield wipers for snow removal on your solar panels, LOL
I’ll watch whatever you post!!!!
Hi, you have such a big roof on your waterzistern why you build no solar on it?
Regards from germany.👍🏼 Ingo
Thank you for your show
Wow, this is absolutely amazing to see

Hello! I enjoy your channel. Wondering if you should consider in roofing your deck. 7:13 pm. Puerto Rico
I just love Charlie, I’ll puppy sit any time lol.
AS A SOUTH AFRICA 🇿🇦 EVEN IN THE 🇬🇧, COULD NOT SURVIVE THAT COLD 🤯🤯🤯, IN SOUTHERN HEMISPHERE IT'S 40 DEGREES CELSIUS, COMPLETELY OPPOSITE 👍
So pretty!
Can you use the snow for fresh water ?
Pulling all that snow is not helping. you need a snow plow or blower. And chains for the tractor is a must.
watch out for the Utal Bigfoot
Yep, you need chains for the tractor and your other vehicles in those conditions.
what are you doing with the old pad
You are so lucky to have a wife like that she has beautiful eyes❤
Do you have a well, if not, get one.
you need a snowblower
BLUID LIL HOUSE FOR THEM TO GO IN

Get that gutter put over the front porch where the steps are or do you plan on putting the roof
What no rainwater recovery system
