Such a great time to collect with the addition of Fleer and Donruss. The 1980s are when I collected the most, although the 1970s are my favorites because that’s when I got started.
Love it, Orlando! The 80s, mainly the 2nd half, are right in my prime collecting years as a kid! You picked great ones to represent the decade. Thanks for sharing!
FANTASTIC 80s showcase here, Orlando! I’m glad to see the ‘84 Donruss as the Mattingly of choice! I might replace the ‘85 Topps Clemens with the ‘84 Fleer Update one (and add the ‘84 Fleer Update Puckett as well!). VERY impressive Bonds ‘86 Tiffany!! Although I’m a total sucker for Tiffany, I’m personally more partial to the ‘87 Donruss Opening Day Error for Bonds, as I like the exclusivity and low pop count - especially during an era when the printers were never shut off! 😂😂😂 One more card I would include is a certain Billy Ripken card… 😂 Awesome video! Right up my alley here!!
Nice! The 80s are my decade! You some great examples. A few others that I think should be in an 80s collection are the 89 Fleer Billy Ripken FF error, 84 Fleer Update Clemens and Puckett and 82 Donruss Diamond Kings card number 1 in the set, Pete Rose and it’s the first ever Diamond Kings card!
The video was about the must have rookie cards from the era. Agree that Clemens and Puckett should be included but the Ripken and Rose cards aren’t rookies.
Hey Orlando, it's adam. I just wanted to say your collection is awesome! Thanks for sharing your amazing cards. I agree with you. The 89 upper deck Griffey and the 80 henderson cards are classic and a must for every collector.
89 Topps Randy Johnson, 85 Topps Kirby Puckett, 84 Topps Darryl Strawberry, I would have definitely included the 83 Sandberg also, I think you got everyone else correctly, some might be junk wax, but they are still must have cards.
Gave a video like. Lots of great cards here. The Griffey Jr. is an iconic card for the decade. Same could be said for the Henderson rookie which is on my want list. I don't ever recall seeing Joe Carter's rookie. It is a beautiful card. I will have to add that to my want list. Great video, Orlando. Will look forward to seeing your 70's video.

I love this topic. Great idea Orlando. I have all of these with the exception of the 84 Donruss Mattingly and Tiffany Bonds. I would suggest the 84 Fleer update set, specifically the Puckett and Roger. Thank you for including Bo Jackson. He changed collecting for me. I LOVE the Future Stars version Jackson! In my opinion the 88 Score traded of Craig Biggio is a must have, but take it with a grain of salt because I’ve been an Astros fan since 86. Great video! Respectfully- Shawn.
Thanks for the video Orlando. Love the Henderson, I still have mine I got as a kid. I always wanted an 84 Donruss Mattingly as a kid but could never get one. I finally did as an adult. Thanks again for the awesome content.
Hi Orlando, Awesome run thru of some of the great 80’s card. That Cal Ripken 82 Traded continues to increase in price. About only one on your list I’m missing. Just got to bite the bullet soon and snag one up! Have a great rest of your week -Jeremy
Nice video. You definitely hit it out of the park. Think you turned me on to picking up the ‘83 Topps Boggs as a partner to the Gwynn. Thanks for sharing.
Great cards. A lot of memories. I packed pulled the 1980 Rickey Henderson as a kid and still have it. I think the 81 Valenzuela RC could also be added because he was such a phenom that year. Thanks
Great cards and video, Orlando. The '80s decade starts and ends with 2; of the best, from the '80's. The Rickey Henderson 1980 Topps, and the Ken Griffey JR. 1989 Upper Deck.
Thanks for your opinion, Orlando. All great cards. They are more in my sons’ time frame and not mine, but I am a Mariners fan and I am targeting the 89 Upper Deck Griffey. Thx again.
Hi Orlando, Thanks for your review of the important cards from the 1980s. It’s good to remember that not everything from the 1980s was junk wax. Hope that you are well and happy, Peter
How do you not include the 1983 Ryne Sandberg! No 1985 Kirby Puckett! Blasphemy! 1981 Fernando Valenzuela is a nice cheap iconic player/card. Topps by far is the best.
If you're talking iconic "chase" cards from the 80's you have to include the 83 traded and 84 Strawberry. The 84 was the definition of a chase card back then.
Great stuff Orlando. How I would love to go back to those times.
You and me both!
Such a great time to collect with the addition of Fleer and Donruss. The 1980s are when I collected the most, although the 1970s are my favorites because that’s when I got started.

Great time to collect
Billy, same here. I think 84 and 85 were some cards, but 86 on were prime years for me!
Great cards Orlando. I can’t argue with those cards you shared. I would’ve included Puckett in some way. He was a huge chase for me. 👍🏽
Totally agree, he was a superstar
Especially the 84 fleer update Puckett and clemens cards
FANTASTIC 80s showcase here, Orlando! I’m glad to see the ‘84 Donruss as the Mattingly of choice! Awesome video! Right up my alley here!!
Appreciate you reminding me of the Fleer update
Hi Orlando. I really loved seeing these cards again, you have a lot of real beauties. Thanks for sharing my friend.
Glad you enjoyed it
A week ago or so it was the 1880's now the 1980's! Love your collection!
Yes! Thank you! Covering 100 years of cards, love it
I was thinking the same thing. Never know what 80s set Orlando will be featuring!
Thanks for sharing! Definitely need to include those
The video was about the must have rookie cards from the era. Agree that Clemens and Puckett should be included but the Ripken and Rose cards aren’t rookies.
Great group of cards for the 1980s, I would probably add Sandberg, Puckett, and the Billy Ripken FF card.
Great choices, thanks for sharing your thoughts
Orlando my brother thanks for sharing, these cards brings back so many great memories from my teen days 👍🏼. NY Lou
Glad you enjoyed it
Hey Orlando, it's adam. I just wanted to say your collection is awesome! Thanks for sharing your amazing cards. I agree with you. The 89 upper deck Griffey and the 80 henderson cards are classic and a must for every collector.
Thanks! You too! Truly appreciate you sharing your thoughts, thanks for the kind words
You're welcome Orlando!
89 Topps Randy Johnson, 85 Topps Kirby Puckett, 84 Topps Darryl Strawberry, I would have definitely included the 83 Sandberg also, I think you got everyone else correctly, some might be junk wax, but they are still must have cards.
Great choices to add to the list
Awesome stuff, Orlando! You pretty much covered the most iconic rookie cards of the 80’s. Beautiful collection, my friend. Take care!
Thanks! You too!
I enjoyed it Orlando Thank you! Love my 80's cards
Glad you enjoyed it
This was a very nostalgic run of cards, Orlando. Very cool to see these cards highlighted. Nice video!
No doubt! Great era and cards, giving them some love
Great cards. My childhood in a nutshell! Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching! Appreciate it Lou
Thanks for including the 84 TT Gooden. He was my 1st pc player. Great video!!
Glad you enjoyed!
Love Roger Clemens and Jose Canseco. Outstanding video.
Many thanks!

Thanks for watching!
Those were some iconic cards you showed. I am going with Henderson as my favorite.
Henderson is the goat
I agree with your list completely. I'd just add a Kirby for me. I loved the fat guys in the 90's. Gwynn and Kirby.
Definitely need to include Kirby, he was awesome.

Agree completely about the Puckett and update set. Forgot them
I love this topic. Great idea Orlando. I have all of these with the exception of the 84 Donruss Mattingly and Tiffany Bonds. Thanks for the video Orlando. Love the Henderson, I still have mine I got as a kid. I always wanted an 84 Donruss Mattingly as a kid but could never get one. I finally did as an adult. Thanks again for the awesome content.
Thank you Winston

Definitely need to get the a Ripken traded. Tough to find centered
Awesome! Also ‘84 Fleer Update & ‘85 Kirby Puckett cards were a must have.
Oh yes! Definitely the two main cards I missed. Thanks for sharing
Great foundation to the sets of the era. Fun stuff, sir!
Thank you kindly!
Nice video. You definitely hit it out of the park. Think you turned me on to picking up the ‘83 Topps Boggs as a partner to the Gwynn. Thanks for sharing.
Glad I could help
Great cards thanks
Glad you like them!
Great cards. A lot of memories. I packed pulled the 1980 Rickey Henderson as a kid and still have it. I think the 81 Valenzuela RC could also be added because he was such a phenom that year. Thanks
Thanks for watching! Great choice on Valenzuela, another great player that fell short of the hall
I think I have all of them, just not any of the Tiffany versions. Great compilation, Orlando. Looking forward to your 70s video.
Glad you like them!
Great video. Great collection of cards. Maybe include a Kirby Puckett , Eric Davis , Barry Larkin and the infamous Billy Ripken card.
Good choices to add, thanks Todd
You left out the 84 fleer update Puckett and clemens
Yes, I definitely forgot the fleer update with Kirby
Great cards and video, Orlando. The '80s decade starts and ends with 2; of the best, from the '80's. The Rickey Henderson 1980 Topps, and the Ken Griffey JR. 1989 Upper Deck.
Thanks Andrew
Buy buy buy all the old school cards asap
Agree completely
Best cards ever, Orlando! Thanks for sharing them!
Thanks for watching!
Great cards Orlando!
Thank you
Great video Orlando, I think you nailed it.
Glad you think so!
great video orlando. In 88 I kinda like the roberto alomar rookie and craig biggio rookie.
Great choices Ray. Definitely need to be included
80s rookie cards are great. Easy and fairly cheap to get for the average collector if you're not going for a 9 or 10 in everything.
That is correct my friend , great era for collecting
Thanks for your opinion, Orlando. All great cards. They are more in my sons’ time frame and not mine, but I am a Mariners fan and I am targeting the 89 Upper Deck Griffey. Thx again.
Great, thanks for sharing your thoughts
Sandberg to a lot of people in 83 and Puckett in 85 are two that I would’ve included
Two great ones to add
I have a few of them. 😁
Definitely would love to get a Donruss Mattingly & a Ripken rookie.
Great choices Victor
such a great decade. Great cards too
Agreed! Competition took over
Only missing the Billy Ripken FF error card, granted it's not a rookie but it's one of the most classic cards of the 80s!
Definitely a classic, Ripken error.
Hi Orlando,
Thanks for your review of the important cards from the 1980s. It’s good to remember that not everything from the 1980s was junk wax.
Hope that you are well and happy,
Peter
My pleasure!
Love the video!! Gotta object though you need Larkin in there for 1987. He is a HOF and one of the best shortstops in the 1980s and 1990s.
Good add to my list, Larkin is in the hall
1983 topps Ryne Sandberg another banger and must have.
Definitely good choice
One addition would be Barry Larkin. Clear HOFer but often forgotten
Great choice
Would include: 81'- Baines, Gibson, Venezuela, Raines & Sax. 83'- Sandberg & Strawberry. 85'- McGuire, Puckett & Davis. 88' Glavine! 89': Just the best draft class in MLB, NFL & NBA!!
Great additions Jeremy, appreciate your support
Maybe add the Strawberry and the Bo Jackson w the shoulder pads Score card and 87 Mcgwire Rated Rookie
Good choices to add, thanks for sharing your thoughts
1989 Ken Griffey is not a rookie, sorry but true
Many of these players have rookie cards other than their regular cards. I’m using the most popular” rookie” cards.
No '81 Topps Harold Baines rookie? 😁But seriously, I'd also figure out how to add a Randy Johnson RC in there somewhere
Should include Baines and Johnson but for me they are secondary
Like a lot of people I'd also go with the kirby but I would also throw in the iconic 89 fleer billy ripken f face not a rookie but a must for me
Definitely forgot Kirby, thanks for sharing your thoughts
How do you not include the 1983 Ryne Sandberg!
No 1985 Kirby Puckett! Blasphemy!
1981 Fernando Valenzuela is a nice cheap iconic player/card. Topps by far is the best.
Agree completely on Kirby. Ryno was also popular along with Valenzuela, but second tier for me.
You got put Sandberg in with the other guys.
Definitely forgot about Ryno
Mark mcgwire rookie is 1985 topps usa card.
Yes it is, thanks
Maybe Tom Glavine from 1988 and for 1981 Tim Raines, Fernando or Baines. Cheers
Good additions, thanks for sharing
@@ACollectorsDream Loved the video thanks!
How about the 85T Gooden or the 83T Tr Strawberry or the 86D The Rookies Canseco.
Great choices, I included Canseco and Gooden
If you're talking iconic "chase" cards from the 80's you have to include the 83 traded and 84 Strawberry. The 84 was the definition of a chase card back then.
Good choice, Strawberry was incredible back then
⚾👍
Thank you
Tom freaking Glavine from 1988
Yes sir, needs to be in there
Puckett doesn't make the cut?
Puckett was the other one, I’m a Puckett collector and had his cards in another box 😂
What about 83 Ryne Sandberg, huge swing and a miss
I’ve got it and should have included Ryno
No Sandberg?
No Puckett?
Definitely need to include them
Sandberg????
Definitely need to include Ryno
A lot of people are sleeping on there child hood cards go buy buy buy
You are correct
No Strawberry?! Can’t subscribe now
Missed him and a couple other legends.
@ I was only kidding, I still subbed 🍓⚾️
