Great review. I have sworn by Epson scanners since the mid 1990's. If I might make a suggestion to unlock the true power and capabilities of the scanner, I would highly recommend checking out VueScan by Hamrick Software. The software has a lot of options, and as a bonus will run on Linux, macOS and Windows. Much more capable than the included Epson software, which sadly hasn't changed substantially since the Windows 3.x days.
Unfortunately not on the device. I bought a USB hub with 4-ports and physical switches that I place under my monitor table for easy access (Velro upside down).
This is the first of your videos I have seen. I just replaced my Epson V30 to a V19. The step by step instructions were very helpful to me, as I am not too hi tech. Thank you. Question - Can I print something to come out the exact size of the image? And yes, I subscribed.
There are several print options. When you say 'exact size' do you mean as the original? If so, I do that all the time with the default setting except for resolution (I use 600). I just looked at the settings and it seems that is how it would default. Also, thanks for subscribing :)
@@PE4Doers I have that figured out, thanks. Now I am having trouble finding the page as to where I can store my scans, Where can I get the settings box to do that?
@@march149 After you 'Pause' the automatic scan, go into "Customize" then 'File Save Settings". You get to choose a location (directory) then able to pick a pre-fix and a stating sequential number.
It has been 3-years since I have visited their site. I have updated the software, since it lets me know when a new version is available and automatically gives me the option to download and install the new version. I'm curious though, what are you looking for on their site?
Sorry, there is not. What I did is added a USB 4-port hub that has switched for each of the ports. Then I turn it on when I need it, and it works just fine. Here is the one I bought: amzn.to/3SOcI3u
@@PE4Doers Yes, but it did not work. Anyway I found a tutorial how to reset scanner. All you need to do is press the button next to blue light for 5 sec. before you plug it and then another 10 sec. after is plugged already. Now it works without any problems.
It did not come with OCR software like some of the higher priced scanners, however there are several highly rated FreeWare OCR programs on the Internet.
@@PE4Doers I have to lift the whole lid after lifting it a bit horizontally? How could I put it back then? :) btw, does your scanner still works the same? I read some reviews that after a few weeks it stops, hopefully won't happen to mine. I also notice it collect dust on the glass all the time. How do you clean it?

That great to know. Thanks Jeremy.
I got the V19 as a present from a friend but he did not have a manual. It's all set up and going now after watching your video. Thanks a lot
You are very welcome :) Thanks for the great comment.
Great review and like your relaxed presentation.Easy to listen to you.

@@PE4Doers Things are good over here. Just pushing through! Celebrating 30 on October 1st.
I just bought v39 model , is there a way to turn it off without pulling the cable from the computer

I am not tech savvy at all :) Thank you for a concise and helpful video Thank you

Very helpful video. Does the scanner allow you to scan multiple pages into a single pdf? Thanks!
Yes, it does. you have to pick the correct options however.
Thank you ! subscribed

I don’t know where you are on their site but I get nothing like that.

Hey David! Here to show my support.
Thank You Da Leigh, that is very much appreciated. Did you see my latest upload? Can I count on you for an Academy Award nomination (J/K)?
@@PE4Doers I'm not sure if I did, but I will go check. You can count on me! 😉
Is there a way to turn off this scanner? i.e. other than unplugging the USB? this is for a V39

After 2 years it doesnt work at all and during the period I used it like 15-20 times.
Have you tried removing and re-installing the driver software?

@@vijayveeramootoo8533 WOW, thanks for the information.
thank you so much
You are quite welcome. Ar you buying (or have purchased) one of these units?
is there ani´o text scanning software with ocr as well?

did you found the pdf, send to, copy software to operate scanner direct from screen not with the buttons?
I have not tried that, but will look into it and post a reply if it works for me.
Scan 35mm film?
I have not tried that. I know that some scanners have an accessory that allows you to do that, but that is not included with this one.
Can you tell me how can I detach the lid entirely? I saw it's possible, but I can't remove it (if i scan thicker books ect)?
You need to lift it up in the back, then Open it a usual and it will disengage the lid from the unit.

how did you tearn it on?
It comes on once power is applied.
I've bought new V19 Scanner but scan copy are skewed while I'm placing document perfectly linear
Any solution?
the sensor must have popped out of alignment in shipping. I would send it back for a replacement.
