The only thing I can think of is in the movie the lower roof section is much more muted in color. Much closer to the 2010 set. But I personally like the vibrant colors of 2020 much more.
I think the old minifigures are miles better overall. Sure you get two less figures at a FAR lower price tag, but the prints (except for Fenrir Greyback) are just so much better.
Honestly this video just gives me mad nostalgia. I was like 7 years old when that re-vamped wave of harry potter sets came out in 2010 and I had all the sets. Damn
Prediction before I watch: He'll compare the minifigures and decide that the 2010 selection is overall better, but he'll still give the point to 2020 anyway.
@@ratbat1072 Well, this is a case where the overall set is better, but that is a consistent fault with these videos overall. Especially seeing as how, since the desired ratio of $0.10 per piece has remained constant in LEGO for decades, it doesn't make any sense to adjust for inflation. (Also, I'm still not over how, when he compared the Imperial Landing Crafts from SW, he found that both minifigures and playability were better in the 2007 set, but still gave the point to 2018 for arbitrary reasons.)
They should have made it the Harry's birthday celebration scene before the attack. More unique and could have had zenephelius (forgive the spelling :D) and luna lovegood or some more unique characters
Fun fact, the 2010 Ginny Weasley outfit is actually Order of the Phoenix, during the Battle of Department of Mysteries, and that 2020 Ginny Weasley outfit is from Half Blood Prince, but it is during the Kissing scene Harry and Ginny in the movie but ya both of them are inaccurate
One thing I like more about the 2010 set is the single roof colour, I'm thinking of doing that when I finally get the Burrow. I'm extremely new to collecting Lego, got my first set today!! The Great Hall set, so I don't know how easy, or costly, it is to get replacement bricks all in the same colour but I think I'd like to when I get the Burrow.
@@MandRproductions That is a good question, I don't know what other side builds they could've included but it'd be cool to see some more things from the weasley's day to day life, or it could've removed the side builds altogether and included some more figures or lowered the price though you would lose a lot of playability. I'm not sure what I want exactly but something more unique would've been cool
@@MandRproductions they could do one based on the wedding in the deathly hallows, or one which was just the normal house and had a side build for Mr weasleys shed. My main issue with the attack on the burrow scene is the fact it's not in the books
I think for the price tag the minifigures are MILES better in 2010, especially given the higher quality of the prints a decade earlier (except for Fenrir Greyback). 2020 definitely has the better build though, there’s no denying that whatsoever.
It’s best to start with the movies first, that way they don’t disappoint you. I should know, because I was 4-5 years old when the first movie came out and I still love the film saga.
How I did it was I read one book and then watched the movie for that book and kept doing that. It was really fun because I got to see everything the movies didn’t have.
I personally prefer 2010 version, for me it is more special. The new one is maybe more movie accurate, however I really don't like all the colours and minifigures. The worst ones are undeniably Molly and Giny Weasley, who are one of my favourite characters. So for me, older one is definitely better.
do you think they sacrificed some playability for aesthetic on the 2020 one compared to the older one as fans of the films are older and are wanting more of a display piece?
I love the Tonks minifig, but that is definitely NOT the right hairpiece for Half Blood Prince. LEGO Even has a hair piece already that would be spot-on for this scene. I hate how overused that shoulder-length shaggy hairpiece is.
i remember having the 2010 burrow set but a flood came in taking out my burrow set and like 10 of my favorite lego star wars sets including jabbas palace and the cad bane clone turbo tank i liked
Hey ryan this isnt an ask mandr, i need you opinion on this. With the mosaic sets, do you think they will do a second wave and do more than 1 (technically 3) star wars ones? I posted this on reddit a while ago. And i have some ideas. Boba fett, bossk and IG-11. Iden versio, a rogue one trooper (the black one, i forgot the names) and captain phasma. Captain rex, 501st trooper and grevious( with a blue saber). Thanks
I'm willing to bet that Lego didn't want her in bathrobes as to not have a massive uproar about them sexuallizing minfigs etc. I think it was them just playing it safe because we have seen some stupid controversies from lego ie. The jabba palace mosque controversy
These 2020 sets are supposed to come out on august 1st, I haven’t seen these anywhere and some stores say they will have them on September 1st or august 15, has anyone seen them in store in North America
I think the reason why the new one doesn't have so much printing in figures, is because at least for me, less print is nicer to watch. Of course I like details, but if there is too much going on, it just doesn't feel so nice.
We all already know which one is better before going into the video , the only reason people go into this video is to see ryan make fun of the 2010 set.
Any reason you think the 2010 Burrow is better?
There are no reasons that the 2010 version is better.

I thing the 2020 version better
The old one was good for around 10 years and I thought nothing could beat it. Then I saw the 2020 one.
Never thought i would hear ryan refer to a lego house as a chad or virgin
I just realized that the 2010 set used sticks as wands THE HORROR
I have plenty of the new wands that comes with the minifigs packages so I will be changing to those!
As someone who grew up with the 2010 Harry Potter sets, the “sticks” weren’t really that bad.
Just for laughs could you add a 'easy to dust' section in your comparison videos
@Avocado Cucumber same
The new one really splits me. The build is absolutely incredible but the minifigures really bring it down for me
In the new one I feel like tonks and Fenrir greyback and Arthur are good.Harry and Ron and Bellatrix are eh and molly is just bad
Old hair piece on Harry Potter show his big brain
Lol don’t take seriously
JIMMY NEUTRON is that you?

My old Lego sets from the 90’s and early 2000’s give me huge nostalgia as well 😔
I think this is the first Tonks Minifigure ever
Prediction before I watch: He'll compare the minifigures and decide that the 2010 selection is overall better, but he'll still give the point to 2020 anyway.
Edit: Hey, I was right.
The newer ones always win unless the older one has a better part to price
@@ratbat1072 Well, this is a case where the overall set is better, but that is a consistent fault with these videos overall. Yeah - you were spot on - and it's ridiculous. He does that with (usually the mid-sized) Star Wars sets too.
where did he say the 2010 selection is overall better? you just made that up.after he compares them he literally says 2020 is better.
I like how both of them are really good! They both have their pros and cons and that makes them amazing!
They should have made it the Harry's birthday celebration scene before the attack. More unique and could have had zenephelius (forgive the spelling :D) and luna lovegood or some more unique characters
2010's minifigures don't steal face prints so it gets that point for me

They should've added the ghoul
The ghoul is a forgettable character.
I definitely like the 2020 version in my opinion, it may have less options for playing, but I really like the designers and the quality of each room.
Now i was a kid when the 2010 version came out and i loved the character flu network but personally i also like the jumping through the fire piece

This video makes me very happy. I have waited this from new burrow review.
I would've liked just a regular burrow as opposed to another attack but I prefer the new one so I guess it's okay
Good point they could have made new Wesleys instead of remaking the Fenrir and Bellatrix
What would a "regular Burrow" entail?
Yeah but tbh it's like the only exciting thing that ever happens at the burrow.

Ryan read the books! They're really good and much better than the movies.

Hayden Socha true
harry potter is probaly my favorite series ever and it has been since i was a kid. is it bad that i haven't read the books lol
We now have a bad batch tv show coming 2021, spread the word!!!
Proof?
Im not calling you a liar, i just have trust issues when it comes to tv shows/ movie rumours.
M E M E M A N it’s true on Instagram The Disney plus account announced it
They should have made tonks a spare pink and/or orange hair piece that would be cool
I like how all the wands in the new one are color accurate to the character
ive built the 501st battlepack and its awesome! (I live in Europe)

My favourite MandR quote "that ones the Chad burrow and that ones the virgin burrow"
I don’t even know anything about Harry Potter but Ryan makes it entertaining
This is one of those rare occasions where the advancements LEGO has made in the past decade are _extremely_ apparent.
do you think they sacrificed some playability for aesthetic on the 2020 one compared to the older one as fans of the films are older and are wanting more of a display piece?
That's actually a really good point, I didn't think about that
Fun fact: Justin designed the new one based off the pieces not being pressed down.
I was hoping today's vid would have been about the 501st battle pack and you would've got it earlier than expected. I guess I will wait another day

Oh but I have them now

(the middle room in the 2010 burrow is fred and George's and the top one is actually rons.)
We wan MandR to collect Power Miners!
Cool review these are really awesome sets and I wish I got the old one when it came out
Me after finishing both sets and comparing
2020 Burrow set: OUR BATTLE WILL BE LEGENDARY!
the sets combined would be bad ass
Yes
the new one is a lot more accurate than the old one
You don’t say?
You are soooòoooooooooöoooœooooooooooøoooôoooooo smart
The Tree Of Magic
Nicholas Cage is that you?
Yeah but neither one had a scene that actually happened
Hayden Socha like more accurate to the burrow
Can't wait to see the new zoo. Are you buying more animals I would love to see step by step tutorials.
Never knew how different they were before now.
Who wouldn't want to live in the Burrow? Quite a legendary home
I feel like you're bullying the old one lmao
Chad new burrow vs. virgin old burrow 😂

😔 feel for you man I had a similar situation
I still think you should split design into looks and stability because they’re very different
cool comparison and also I got the lego death star for 64 $

I hope I can get the newer burrow
Quite cool sets
How often do you clean up your sets from dust
Nice,comparison.
I want that Bellatrix
I miss the original heads that were used for Harry, Ron, Hermione, Molly, Arthur, Ginny, Bellatrix, and Fenrir.
The best thing about Tonks is you can change her hairpiece to anything else because she’s a metamorphogus!
The print is acually really good from the 2020 version, must be somthing where you live.
I had the 2010 set, I wish I could re assemble all of my old sets I took apart as a kid

I don’t think that’s the reason. We haven’t gotten a Ginny Weasley minifigure yet so LEGO wanted to include a more generic version.
@@alexeissenstat1407 Its probably a combo of the two factors, lego being kid friendly, and lego being "cheap" though i don't mean it negatively

When are the new HP sets supposed to be in US stores?
You have the faces/heads mixed up between Arthur and Molly Weasley on the 2010 minifigures.
So the 2020 version is better, but if we wait for a third version could we expect better minifigures?
