While they should obviously be more willing to use violent means than the X-Men, they should still feel like a legitimate counter-point to the X-Men's vision instead of just "the bad guys".

We really do need more live-action solo villain movies in the MCU because if Joker can get his own successful solo movie and an upcoming sequel, then why not villains like Magneto? I don't mean movies about morally grey anti heroes like what Sony is doing poorly with Venom and Kraven the Hunter or what DC tried to do with Black Adam, Im talking about genuine villains who may have redeeming/complex qualities to them but ultimately remain as pure villains since they remain as such interesting characters like Doctor Doom, Darth Vader, Lex Luthor, Hannibal Lectre, Hans Gruber etc... Marvel and DC have plenty of those types of villains who are down right evil yet still remain as interesting characters who can be naturally explored on a deeper level with their own film.
I legitimately think a Doctor Doom movie would be amazing! Get someone who can do epic battle sequences and personal human drama and make it into essentially a Biopic of Doom's rise to Power. Oppenheimer or Elvis meets Joker Going from an orphaned con artist on the streets of Latveria under the control of a dictator, who manages to trick his way into a prestigious American university, begins a fierce rivalry with his room mate, accidentally scars himself in an tragic accident caused by his own hubris, and then returns to his home country to organize a revolution and free his oppressed people. Get someone like Gareth Edward, Ridley Scott, or even Christopher Nolan is he ever wants to return to super heroes, and it would be AMAZING!
@@nonspiderweb Absolutely. Ive had the same idea for a while, and the Book of Doom origin comic is the perfect template for a Doctor Doom movie. I don't know if the MCU will give RDJ as Doom his own origin movie before Avengers Doomsday, but I think it could be amazing if it were well executed. Even though Im very conflicted about RDJ as Doom, I at least hope they finally show Doom's origin as a Romani orphan son of a witch and son of a doctor who decided to dictate how he wants life to live as a master of science and magic, a saviour of Latveria and a man dedicated to proving his superiority to his arch enemy Reed Richards. Im hoping that we never see Doom's face for the majority of the movie until possibly the ending of Avengers Doomsday, and despite how big of an actor RDJ we've seen actors emote wearing a mask like Pedro Pascal as Mandalorian conveying so much emotion in a helmet (coincidentally he's going to be out Reed Richard).
a dark comedy movie out of the Dark Avengers storyline could be great, 616 Norman Osborn (or maybe Val) trying to wrangle all these out-and-out psychopathic villains posing as heroes who can't stop infighting and killing random people, could be the MCU version of The Boys if they let it have an R-rating now D&W is doing insane numbers
What if the brotherhood of mutants is what causes the X-Men to form in the mcu, like Charles has a school but he’s not sending out his children to literal war until one of his old friends starts making the name of mutants look bad.
That’s what I would like to see the only thing I would change is that Scott is the one that wants to stop Magneto, and convinces the rest of the first class which puts him and Charles in a bit of conflict but ultimately Charles realizes they have to fight.
We shouldn’t be too suprised. I believe it was in the Midnight Sun’s pitch where “Feige” included the phrase “The walls are closing in” it appears Nando may have been playing the long game with his Kevin Feige lore.
Okay, first of all, I absolutely LOVED this pitch. It's really awesome! Kinda unrelated to your pitch though, but as a teen who watched the animated series X-men evolution as a kid (and still obsesses over it) the brotherhood seemed slightly different than the other variations. The brotherhood was seemingly very unserious, only being there as minor villans to parallel the other teens that were the X-men. But they were so much more than they appeared, and it fascinated me a lot. The team consisted of Avalanche (Lance Alvers), Todd tolansky (Toad), Fredrick dukes (the blob) and Pietro (quicksilver). Wanda (scarlet witch) joins them later, Rouge and Tabitha (boom-boom) join and leave at some point. A concept brought by the series was that these mutants, being too difficult to manage or not fitting with the image of the 'x-men' and being put in a position so they have no choice but to join magneto and the brotherhood with mystique leading it. Sorry for the rant
Worth the wait, the best pitch/rewrite which you have ever done. I got hyped, shocked & left speechless at points listening to this one. The worst part is knowing how unlikely it is for Disney to release a movie which will go in as hard as this script did at certain points.
I like Hodge's death for how it perfectly illustrates an idealistic reason for Charles and Eric to fall out. Eric just watched Xorn die, firsthand, due to Hodge's actions, and would justifiably be fixated on justice. However, looking from the outside, Charles understands that Xorn chose to sacrifice his life, and would argue that killing Hodge means that Xorn died for nothing. Neither one is wrong, but each of them would be personally offended by how the other one sees it, as Xorn was a close friend to them both.
Peak, loved this pitch. My only critique (for what it’s worth) is I think Vanisher and Darkstar kind of got sidelined as characters but other then that I really liked it

Introducing a character that "does not age" into a live-action movie is an idea that requires SO MUCH suspension of disbelief! And so much work on the actor's part! We saw it with Hugh Jackman. And though he looks great, he had clearly aged. And it's weird for someone to look exactly the same from 1980-2030 and then just start aging all relatively quick. That's what we're dealing with with Captain Marvel, now, too! In the mcu, woman is about 60 years old now. And didn't age from 1995-2024. But now her aging has been turned back on. It's weird.
