I'm Ladybug/Cricket combo. To me, when you can see all the stuff it looks so messy and feels like clutter which puts me on edge.
Yes! I thought I was a Butterfly but when she put all the stuff on those wire containers I thought it still looked messy. A Ladybug/ Cricket is more organized and soothing to the brain for me.

For me it'd the opposite I can see everything it'd like.hiding dirt . I'm not saying it is dirty but seeing what you have so you don't buy doubles or what not makes it look clean to me
Not a butterfly - seeing all that stuff nearly makes me nervous. At least clear bins have walls!

What blew me away (and I suppose this could just have been an editing “lie”, and it actually was done this way) was that given 5:51, she didn’t do Ladybug last! Cass, did you do this 5 times?!? 😯

Having all 4 of these images side by side allowed me to ask my husband to pick the one that he likes and would use and I learned that he doesn't like visual clutter, but needs large bins to toss items into (and hide). I've been trying to get him to take the quiz for weeks and he wouldn't so your side by side comparison images are a big help!

I was struggling with trying to figure out my own "bug" (I am notorious for waffling on my answers to any similar quiz, which increases confusion), but another video Cas did showing one closet 4 ways really made it obvious for me which is my preferred style. It was less obvious to me on this video, but mostly I think it was because I don't like those wire baskets she used for the butterfly ... too much chance for things to fall out!
Before clutterbug I spent most of my life trying to live in a house with everything in weaved baskets/ wooden boxes but in reality I was a bee. So much happier.

Lol, but then she put a bottle of what looked like body wash in with the other ones that looked like hand soap and I was like NOOOOO!!! Body wash is not soap! (Unless there's a global pandemic and you're desperate because your stores are picked over and you can't find hand soap anywhere...)

@@NormalJenniferG And now I feel seen and validated!😇 I did a Facebook Live in Walmart because people were flipping their wigs over no hand soap... and I go 2 aisles over and there's body wash, shampoo, and natural soaps (like Dr Bronner's) aplenty. When a pandemic / The Great TP Hoard of 2020 is upon us, suds are suds.🤣

I’m a 🦋 however I also really love the 🐝 set up. I have always gotten hung up on obsessively organizing one tiny area in the same time it would take to clean an entire room. I’m getting better 😂 thanks to you Cas!!
The butterfly organization gave me so much anxiety, lol. I think I am a combo Ladybug/bee. I mostly want things hidden and in big containers. As long as it is contained somehow and not out in the open for all to see, then I'm good. However, other everyday items can be in smaller transparent containers ( i.e. dental, makeup and skin care).
Bees want things visible. I think you mean ladybug / cricket.

You put everything in for the first too and my nerves were going crazy. You started the cricket and it was like my whole body went fluff and calm. So soothing.

I know this video is older but it caught my eye in the recommended. I just wanted to say it is so nice that you added the bit about your in-laws at the end. My in-laws are also wonderful people and we lived in their home off and on when we were first married. We enjoy spending time with them. It's such a blessing to have a close family.

I love this video- so practical. I'm a butterfly with a think some bee tendencies because I loved both the butterfly and bee options. I think too many wire baskets for me was too much so having some clear bins felt a bit calmer.
Looking at those wire baskets, I keep thinking that things will be sliding out of them. I have some plastic baskets that are always losing things like pens or nail files that just find a hole in the basket and leave! I'd much rather have clear bins, including some with lower sides ... at least 3" high, I think ... so I am sure that stuff put in will stay in the container.
This video was awesome! I LOVE my in-laws. I told my husband if we ever get divorced I get to keep his parents. ☺️
Lol I still miss my ex-in-laws on occasion, too. Never ever ever miss ex spouse but his family was cool! I married for that reason alone. Good to do but you also marry the person and it really is better if you like them as much as you like their family, too. Lol!

Okay, this is hilarious. As soon as you moved onto the ladybug organizational method, I laughed out loud because I legit bought those very baskets at dollarama to organize my cupboards. You’re so spot on. Love this.💕
I think it sometimes depends on the space and the stuff. Some of those "bee" containers with the lids off would have been great for a butterfly. Those wire baskets were just asking for stuff to fall out. I'm almost definitely a bee, but in certain spaces I can't have everything out (kitchen and bathroom come to mind). Plus, I have cats and hate dusting so sometimes I go for a minimal look for just that reason.
I, too... laughed aloud as a Ladybug and with the same plastic bins!
It's amazing how finding out your organizing style, can help you get organized! I took the on-line quiz and found out I'm a butterfly, and it has made a huge difference in my life. I used to literally get a sick feeling in my stomach, if I had to sort into too many small categories, but using the butterfly model,I 've been able to get my 2 craft areas combined into one room and it's organized, I can find things and it's so beautiful! Thanks so much for helping me find myself!
Wow, seeing the Bee cupboard was calming to me. I loved my in-laws and my sister-in-law's Mom. I loved their advice and their welcoming ways.

.. btw, (since you mentioned her) Catherine from Doitonadime also uses foam board and contact paper from dollar tree to cover the wire shelves and it always makes it look amazing 😍

same! my linen closet looks just like the ladybug but with baskets instead of bins.
I have watched your organizing videos so often, but could never really pinpoint which I actually was. The picture with all four in one shot side by side was so helpful!! I now know for sure I am NOT a bee or butterfly because I don't like seeing all my junk. It clutters my mind. I am definitely somewhere between a cricket and ladybug. I like it in a basket, box, or bin and labeled. Thanks so much for this video. Super helpful!! I love organizing. Between home, classroom, and craft shed it is one of my favorite things to do!
Same! I have thought I was a butterfly but I watched this and could not handle that butterfly closet. Definitely a ladybug. Definitely. But I need labels I can see, because I'm a forgetful ladybug.

So this has really helped me to finally pin down which bug I am, because I definitely got varying degrees of excited for those final reveals - and apparently I am SUCH a bee!! 😆 I want everything to have its own little nook and NOT have to put lotion with soap, but I also need to be able to get to it immediately and if I don't see it, I just forget it exists lololol I've never seen anything so attractive as those uniform, regular, but clear bins! 🥰🐝 (Although I'm definitely not a pure type, if such a thing even exists, because there certainly are places and situations when I go 🐞)
What a huge blessing we share! My in laws treated me like one of their daughters so I felt truly loved by a mother.
This is amazing!! I am new to all of this, but it has been a huge lightbulb in my organizing fails. I’m a ladybug with a house of organizing containers with tubs!!! No wonder it hasn’t been working! I just learned this the other day, and now seeing these shelves side by side really shows me what I love. Even before I realized which column was ladybug, I was drawn to that set of shelves!
This might be one of my favorite organizing videos of all time! I love seeing (and feeling) the different ways of organizing... and definitely solidified for me that I’m a bee 🐝 (with occasional cricket 🦗 tendencies) lol. Great video, thanks!!

Thank you for re organizing that closet 4 times just for us! I loved seeing all the ideas and options 😃 I liked the ladybug one and cricket next. Which I always thought I was a bit of a bee. I bounce back and forth weather I want to see things or not. I am half and half depending where it's stored and what the items are. I like open baskets because they have no lid or stacking to deal with yet it is solid baskets but you can still see in the top to see what things are
I took the quiz and got bee. 🐝 Feeling how excited I was upon seeing the bee organized shelves confirmed it. 🐝 ♥️
The cricket came close but the ladybug is best for me. TY for demonstrating how everybody does things differently.
I love the look of the ladybug one but I know I’d forget what I had, so the butterfly one is great for me and I really like the photo album labels!
This actually helped me figure out I must be a bee. Whenever the clutter bugs are described I like the sound of all of them, but visually I decided I must be a bee. I like to see what I have and how much at a glance. I have to say I like my in-laws, too. They are not very talkative or the type where you can really get to know them on an in-depth level. My dad was similar in that respect. Maybe a generational thing. But I do know they are nice people who genuinely care about me and how I am doing.
I took your quiz and I'm a butterfly (I think I also have bee tendencies). The butterfly storage, being able to see everything is so calming and joyful to me, I know I can find what I need and not forget about it, I love seeing all the colors, yet it's arranged in an organized way. The bee storage is also calming to me. It's so interesting how everyone's organization styles are different, and what makes us feel good!
That's right! Soaps and Lotions are different things, they don't go in the same container! 😁
The organized clear bins make me happy, but I prefer drawers over stacking anything, ever!

Oh goodness, you came across my feed this morning and I’ve gone deep dive. But at least I’m watching as I am insanely decluttering and cleaning. I can’t believe how much I’ve got done! So, apparently I am a lady bug, butterfly combination. Is that even possible??? Gurrrrl!!! You are my new Shero!🙌

*rolling eyes here* I'm a science experiment i've found. I like a little of all of the bugs. I think maybe I have an eyeball on my kneecap. An ear on my elbow. Mixed together and it baked up as me. I do however love all the bins...but not so much the wire ones as they make me want to sew covers for the inside. :D

Absolute 💡💡💡 moment when I realized that I am a Cricket 🦗 with most areas of our home, but 100% Bee 🐝 when it comes to my art supplies! 💜💜💜
Since there is a closet door it’s already hidden storage for me so I would go for visual storage inside, but if there wasn’t a door I would go for hidden storage, but then I would also have to change the shelving for something better looking... so I kind of like having the best of both worlds with visual storage behind a door?

I love the BEE!🐝 As soon as I saw the lazy Susan in the intro I was like, that's for me. It's not only visual, but it also has the feature of being able to be micro-organized. Everything with its own tiny space.
I think drawers would be nice, too. As long as they opened easily and you could look down into them and have everything neatly organized, easy to open.
I loved the colorful yellow labels for the bee thing, too. In fact, labels make even the most Ladybug or Cricket storage a good fit for anyone, at least for this closet.
The protein powder belongs in prime real-estate for me, though, in kind of an every blender meal type of way.

This video is by far THEE BEST of all of your videos (that I've seen, and I've seen quite a few of them). I've only been following you for a couple of weeks but ever since I first heard you make reference to the different organizing styles (cricket. bea, butterfly, etc), I've been trying to figure out what the traits are of each category, and which one most closely fits my style.
While its way too early to make that determination for myself, (I still have a ton or 2 of decluttering to do!), I understand waaaay better about the different styles after watching this video of your making over your in-laws' closet. What a fabulous idea to do the same space, with the same items, in all of the different styles! I can't thank you enough for dedicating the time, energy, and money it took to make this video. I can't think of a more beneficial way to explain and reveal your methods than this way.

I love the fact that you organized by bug so I could visually see each style. I relate to a ladybug most. This is how I have organized my hall closet
My MIL decided to help clean (very sweet), but she rearranged my stuff and took apart my vacuum cleaner to “clean it”. I am still looking for things she moved nine months later.
I know this is an old video but I love to watch it. You worked very hard to compare all 4 clutterbugs. My favorite is the lady bug but I do like some things from the others. My least favorite is the wire baskets which surprised me because I like wire baskets. I think its too much wire in one space. Thank you for your hard work.

Great idea, it helps with keeping things organized, but also prevents us from seeing from buying the same medicine twice. I found some expired ibuprofen, so I am sure sure keeping things in place will help a lot :) thank you !!
I've tried to organize my home using so many different systems, it was such a RELIEF to discover I'm a BEE! Now I can focus my efforts on what's ACTUALLY going to work for me!!

I'm a ladybug for containers but a cricket for labels 😊. Like, "Summer" wouldn't work for me or my family, but a big bin with a label of "sunscreen, bug spray, aloe" would be just great!

Amazing! Something to meet each personality style! As I age I prefer the clear see through containers, but then again I love the clutter free look of the grey container choice!

I am a butterfly with a very strong ladybug. It depends on the sort of stuff. My closet has everything hanging or stacked Marie Kondo style so I can see it quickly and get it out and don't forget about stuff but that Butterfly closet would overwhelm me and I would go Ladybug here :)

Thank you so much for taking the time and going the extra mile ! From this, I figured out that I'm a Bee on the micro-organizing, but with the Cricket (hidden) ...and I now know what kind of containers will work for me!!!
I fit the bee profile on the test but the cricket appeals much more. I love to see things but can easily get visually overwhelmed but I am a micro organizer for sure.
Your dollar store has better storage containers than our local ones do. Wish I could find those big white baskets. ❤️
