Are flushable wipes safe to use?

  • They may look the same, but flushable wipes are not the same as disinfecting wipes. Disinfecting wipes can’t be used on people. Read the label to see where and how it can be used.

    The National Pesticide Information Center (NPIC) provides free information via a toll-free number (1-800-858-7378) to anyone in the United States, Puerto-Rico, and the Virgin Islands including the general public, medical, veterinary, and other professionals. NPIC operates from 8:00am to 12:00pm PST, Monday through Friday. Pesticide information is also available at NPIC's website (npic.orst.edu), or via email (npic@ace.orst.edu).
    NPIC is a collaboration between Oregon State University and the United States Environmental Protection Agency. NPIC provides objective, science-based information about a wide variety of pesticide-related topics, including pesticide product information, information on the recognition and management of pesticide poisonings, toxicology and environmental chemistry.

    Now that I have learned that none bleached toilet paper is better for you're body. How about flushabl wipes Are there chemicals in there?

      There are different types of wipes and they each have different ingredients. Flushable wipes and baby wipes may be designed for use on the skin and are different from disinfectant wipes. Disinfectant wipes are NOT for human skin and have chemicals that kill germs on surfaces, not the body. Wipes for makeup, cleaning, or babies have different ingredients than disinfectant wipes.
