I was there when I heard this for the first time. I remember being very emotional. Crying in fact. I was a welder at the time, part of the Submarines - Trident. In a massive escape of a brilliant first festival, couldn't tell a soul - but just found it then! Cathy Lesurf to hear next! Looking at the years, I am older now. Pure joy. Thank you for posting.
They did a version of this for the BBC, which was supposed to be Live but isn't; but it is by far the bestest ever version of this, just about Perfect. I hope someone can post it soon, it was in either 1986 or 1987.
QUE TEMA MAS BUENO,ME GUSTARIA SABER EN QUE DISCO ESTA,NO LO ENCUENTRO.LO TENIA EN CASSETTE Y CREO QUE ERA "A REAL TIME 87".GRACIAS POR COLGARLO,TREMENDO
This song provides a musical dream sequence turned into a tale of an occasion when real hiring fairs existed thus making legitimate use of the folk message. I believe it was written by Ralph Mc Tell.
Wonderful - thanks for uploading ;-) Would you happen to have any other clips from that concert? I would be really interested in the fantastic "Red & Gold" - also by Ralph McTell - which made its large venue debut at that concert ( apart from some trials with Ralph himself during 3 warm up concerts in the Half Moon Pub in the week prior to this festival ).

My uncle Mick Cooper was a welder on the same boats! I am sure he would have agreed this was a great escape.
My favourite version of this amazing song!!
Thanx for sharing!
This has been one of my all time favorite songs since first hearing it many years ago.
