Just hot back into helis after a 14 year absence. I'm currently flying a Blade 230s V2. Love the damn thing. Your videos have helped more than you will ever know. No 3d master. But I'm doing very well. In South Florida. Everyone is into drones. I own 1 and at the moment it's a dust collector. Hate it. UA-cam is a wonderful tool when having to repair it yourself. Once again. Thanks.
Fantastic series Freddy. Your explanations have helped me with my flying immeasureably. I've noticed on the Phoenix sim you have an autorotation competition where you aim for a target on the field from various heights too...and being an aircraft engineer I dealt with helis early on, so know how the autorotation thing is supposed to work but with RC it really is pucker time. Conservation of energy is really critical... love the bank account analogy.. makes perfect sense. Thanks again mate even if it's 12 years after you made this vid!!
@@steveblackbird thanks so much :) I am actually working on remaking this series in a new modern sim. I have learned a lot since I made these a while back.
+valderja thanks so much buddy, means a lot if you ever have any questions please feel free to reach out to me at 801-654-2803 or visit freddycanflyrc.com fly safe brother
Just had my first engine stall the other day. Luckily I managed to get the heli down without to much damage. This helps me alot. Thanks for the video Freddy.
Great vid Freddie, keep up the good work. What range of pitch should you be using when actually in the auto ie any minus pitch to 3 or 4 degrees positive in the landing phase?
I have a shuttle plus nitro heli and been recently doing hover failures, it seems to me that the heli tends to drop out of the sky much faster. I'm currently too nervous to take the heli up too high in case the engine really fails and I mess up the auto. I'm unsure if I can come down vertically on a shuttle 30 or if I need to flair to maitain rrpm. I'm ok at the flair, I guess i'm gonna have to take a risk and try a power recovery at the bottom. Its mostly my nerves that suffer.
I lost the authority on my tail boom and had to do all the location down from around I guess the seventies 100 feet and got back on the ground and in one piece but it really helped to know how to do the auto rotation down Get It On The Ground without destroying the helicopter
Hey Freddy I have a trex 450 and I keep crashing since i try to do tricks above my skill level but it's voting for me if I stay at my skill level and since I'm 15 it's really hard to keep up with the hobby financially and I'm finding it really discouraging any advice?
Had my main gear strip as i punched out of inverted at 20 feet of the ground . Yeah thats not fun. especially on a 250!! I think i mostly saved it though, got up right but it didnt float down, but rather dropped and didnt have enough headspeed to soften the landing much. It broke the landing gear and possibly bent mainshaft showhow. The heli bounced up and onto its side, it also broke a ball link on the DFC head. Apart from that everything else seems intact. Not sure there was much else i could do as in that instant alot of headspeed was soaked up just getting upright from inverted.

You are great at explaining this complex stuff in an easy to understand way.
Another great tutorial. Having never done an auto, I did understand roughly what was required but this has clarified everything very nicely.
Thanks so much buddy :)

Great video! It was a huge help with understanding auto rotations. Thanks!
Great intro to autos. Thank you. I will practice with my old X-Cell Fury 60

Hi Freddy....great videos...i have a question; how do you setup throttle hold to do autos....thanks leo
I really like the bank account metaphor. Great video

Hello Freddy, great tutorials. Would you please post some advice on upright funnels I can not master? Thanks, Daniele

Hi, can you make a video on funnel normal & inverted?
THANK YOU.Rally good material ;) awesome! NOW i CAN FLY ! ;d

Spent all my money. :)
That's awesome!
hi freddy, where're lesson 8,9 ??
I have a phoenix 4 simulator came with DX 5e , what switch or how do I get thotle hold for auto rotations
Yes, there is an important need to put it on a switch ! It's better to get used to the switch and not the keyboard .
Thanks
Awesome
thank you valuable
+donald allen thank you :)
Hi,
nice Video, but i realy like to see you doing it with real Helis!
