    One of the most iconic riffs from them and a huge fan favorite. If you want to have fun breaking down that riff, it's a total of 15 8th note beats, which is a single eighth note feet shorter than what a normal straight 8 would be in the overall feel. That's why it feels like it always kind of jumps forward into the downbeat of the next cycle.
    But almost everything they do when it comes to polyrhythm is built on triplets, although you should check out there absolutely insane tribute to James Brown, The crunge, which is one of their most difficult songs and also absolutely hilarious with some highly quotable lines near the end.
    But anyway, for the riff in this, second way to count it would be a triplets with five of them which equals 15, but it makes a lot more sense to just think of it as 5 triplets in a row, so you can just count 1 2 3 2 2 3 3 2 3 4 to 3 etcetera. I know that you get the stuff and that your roommate so if you try counting that those three different ways, and just feeling what the most natural way is for you to feel it, that's typically the way you would play it if you didn't had to execute it and probably what they were feeling when they came up with it. They were just so good at it.

    Singing to a huge crowd of people, an ocean of people. Speaking of his 3 yr daughter that stole his heart… A father’s love. Robert sang at a higher pitch for this song. Great review!

    Led Zep's changeups for us who know, create anticipation; and for others who don't know, create interest.

    You say this song is all Plant and Page, but your body says it's mostly Bonham and Jones driving the train, as usual. Maybe some earbuds or headphones would help with that, my friend. Peace.

    This song has an awesome groove, with that delayed beat nailed by Bonham. Led Zeppelin among the "GREATEST" for a reason. Going deep into their catalog and you still find amazing songs. Impossible to pick my "Top-5 Zeppelin" songs, since so many are "favorites". The other Greatest band combining Rock & Blues is the Rolling Stones. Their musical peak was the early 70's, following the Beatles break-up. Try Stone's "Sway", "Can't You Hear Me Knocking", and "Winter". Or "Midnight Rambler" from live album "Get Yer Ya Ya's Out".

    • @lizroberts6257
      @lizroberts6257 10 місяців тому

      Yes, the delayed beat is often missed in analysis, but contributes a strange sub-psych effectt that is "tasty." I don't know why...

    Page sped the tape on the Song Remains the Same to make Roberts voice higher pitched. He might have done it on this song too, since they are both on the same album.

    This is off topic but I would like to have You listen to VoicePlay if You have never experienced them. I have just discovered them myself bc I tend to stay in a box of what I know most of the time. Check out all their covers and Geoff Castellucci's ( his own YT channel) solo of Jack's Lament from Nightmare before Christmas is amazing.

      I mean they performed this live famously in 72. I was 2!...saw them in 77 and remember every moment. I have chess memory😊..I may have been to lone pot smoking 7 yr old there😊...was not my idea tho to be fair and resent my father for that...but boy am I a wealth of rock history😊...I remember them all in their prime...including Lynard Skynard prior to the plane crash....saw the wall tour ans many more....nobody has ever compared to a concert where Plant sung. No joke, and I have many awesome non LZ related concerts I can relate now. Awesome stuff but nobody like Plant and Page and Bonham live...Moby Dick was homage to Buddy Rich!!!? Watch Buddy Rich on Johnny Carson and you'll see Moby dick

    Singing to a huge crowd of peoples, an ocean of peoples, AND YOU DON'T LISTEN TO THE LIVE VERSION 😡That studio version is pathetic! IN THAT SONG THEY EXPLAIN, WHY THEY WERE LIVING ON STAGE, PLAYING 365 DAYS PER YEAR, ON STAGE, WHY THEY ARE LEGENDS, THE BEST ON STAGE! AND YOU LISTEN TO THAT SHIT STUDIO VERSION😡😡😡😡😡Apparently, the young generation didn't understood those bands😢

      @@juliemanarin4127 That one is! Sorry! I love them Julie, but they were the best on stage, not in studio....Hendrix, and Pink Floyd were better in studio...."Since i've been loving you", and some other songs were both good in studio, and on stage! But, certainly, not that one🌹
