If it makes you feel any better, I find it fun solving puzzles the 'correct' way, simply because it's interesting trying to interpret what the game, and by extension the devs, are trying to tell you
This 100%. I got the bridge schematic pretty early and was like "really". Two shrines later and it was my most used autobuild for the rest of the game right after the hover bike.
@@greenberrygk Sucks that you can't ascend through the ceiling of the depths besides at designated points, though. I couldn't find a valid unintended spot it would work at, anyway.
I’ve found out that rock salt works the best for pressure plates, it seems to be one of the heavier materials that everyone has plenty of and you only need to throw down one instead of multiple like other materials
I beat the last room "Aginst the flow" shrine in death mountain like this: Normally ur supposed to attach a fan to a lava slab across a giant lava lake to reach the end. But with built limit amount of lava slabs, you can make a bridge jjjuuuussstttt long enough to reach the end. It's a bit frustrating to build given the limited space, but it definitely works. The only reason I did it was to prove to my dad that my stupid ideas can work, lol. I think it was intentional that the pool was just long enough for a build limit bridge.
I often do the shrines the way they’re supposed to even if i know i can just cheat it, because i know the things a lot of the shrines teaches me has been useful knowledge later on.
Some of these shrines make you feel like you need to do alternative ways and I think that’s how they were designed to be. Multiple ways to solve puzzles. I like it.
I remember in BoTW the shrine where you had to tilt the entire board to get through the maze. I turned the board upside down and flung the ball into the hole (either that, or it rolled into the hole. It’s been a while since I did that shrine in that game).
Same for me, but if you go for a electric stuff during the shrine at 1:48, I recommend you to wear any electric resistant clothing, or even if you have a High-Level electricity resistance food recipes to withstood against them. But for the Bomb Shields? Well I'll go for the Spring Shields if thanks to "Morok Shrine" for having that as a "Best First Carry" though.
you can use pretty much any object that can be attached to a lever to pull the lever, i found myself using tiny icicles and tiny enemy clubs in the Wind Temple
The thing is there is no correct way of solving any puzzle. Each way is valid, otherwise they would have just removed everything from the inventory at the beginning of the shrine, like proving grounds
I did one yesterday where I couldn't find the small key (it was suspended high up), so I solved the 2nd half first. Swinging a large ball with ultrahand behind a locked gate, shooting the rope with an arrow to have it land safely and open the door. Still took a minute to locate the key chest 😁
This is what is called resourcefulness. The fact that you enter with your inventory untouched in contrast to proving grounds shrines, stands for intentionality of this state i think. The more room you give player, the longer it stays interesting, also Link is not on some fair play joyfull adventure, but have a dire situation to solve, the end justify the means.
When you said “fuse a cart to your shield so you can turn your game of Zelda into Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2”, I instantly got Cyclone by Dub Pistols in my head “LIVIN IN A CYC-A-LONE”
Early on, I found a shrine where you have to guide a large ball through an obstacle course using the Large Wheel. You are supposed to fuse platforms to it to create a makeshift paddleboat, but that one went right over my head, so I created a rickety gondola by placing the wheels on top of the walls segmenting off the water. In the very last shrine featured in this vid, I used platforms and the column to create a makeshift finger to poke the target, fused it to the end of the on-rails platform, and used Ultrahand to push it .
The one where you ascend through the floor is, afaik, the intended solution to that shrine, if it's possible to make something that can clear that distance and land on top it's not obvious how, whereas you can ride one of those gliders exactly as is and then ascend through the floor.
ummmmmmmm..... did you know that you can control a glider without a steering stick by moving to different parts of the glider? left=left, right=right, middle = slow speed buildup, and slow descent, forward = fast speed buildup and fast descent, and back= a slow, desparate attempt to stay in the air which results in a slow descent in place. hope that helps!
@@conorgalvin4289 I did, the distance in that shrine is too vast and there aren't extra parts to improve your glider either. It simply is destined to fall short. I legitimately spent time over engineering trying to find something I could stitch together that would cross the gap better without resorting to smuggling goods into the shrine and made no meaningful progress. You go underneath on purpose and ascend up, that's the puzzle.
Go back to that shrine, did you notice how you got up to that platform with the wings? Yes that’s right, there were 4 fans or more on the floor that you could use ultra hand to pick up and bring it to the wing. Of course you could also beat it by just using a rocket shield near that final part
@@onewayraildex4827 Now, unlike last guy, this is a fair criticism. For whatever reason, I think the awkwardness of plucking them, I didn't think the fans were meant to be used in this part of the puzzle, and solved it without it. Considering you can just solve this puzzle with Ascend and the stock gliders that are being readily launched, that still feels like the intended solution to me though.
In the second shrine of the video, you dont need octo baloons. just use ultrahand to levitate de sphere, and then recall it from above to make te sphere levitate again and then use ultrahand. in fact, you can break most of the shrines using ultrahand and recall.
If you need to complete a circuit with a big gap, the electric Chu-Chu jelly has a bigger 'blast radius' than a shock fruit (as all you need to do is make sure the effect touches both sides for some)

Another way to cheese most shrines is to attach somthing to an arrow and then after it hits and lands attach somthing to it and recall the wood and it will travel back along its path if you shoot it up you can rase things up and you can use it to move things across where you aren't supposed to
I feel like there is not a right or wrong way. Sometimes the shrines gives you little to no tools to solve a puzzle, and if you figure it out a way to make it work, it's ok. That's how the game was designed
I notice that anything that has infinite balls or objects going downhill, they actually just respawn every time they despawn (like fall into a void). By preventing them from despawning, the infinitely generating objects just stops.
If the gate is too far from where you need to activate the circuit and it's not in line-of-sight for an arrow, use a Shock Fruit/Electric Chu-Chu Jelly + Time Bomb from a capsule, hit the bomb, then sprint to the door
That railcar one I solved the wrong way. I put a rocket on one side, the right side, and ended up not only doing a sick drift on the rails but passed the last part of the puzzle!

I just said fck it and Recalled the thing alllllll the way back.
