I wish this one-shot, single car qualifying format was more popular in racing. The adrenaline, tension and buildup for from start to finish on each lap is just amazing.
I agree. F1 would have a better more equal field with this format but the idea for them is they want as many viewers for as many days so their quali format is the best for that.
Will they bring back the top 10 shootout this year? The current format with all cars on track is much worse, there's no hype to just cutting to each car with two corners to go without the buildup of watching the whole lap, and the tension of there being only one lap to put it all on the line isn't there either. Would Murphy's Lap of the Gods be this iconic if the broadcast wasn't showing the whole thing as it happened, with the feed just cutting to him going down Conrod and the announcers not knowing how he had managed to get such a gap at that point? Bring back the shootout!
@@Avant-garde_Vanguardist They had a "qualifying shootout" but it was a session with all 10 cars on track at the same time, not the format of taking turns to do a single lap, which to me is the ideal one.
Where has the variety gone, just mercs and audis and a porsche or 2. Where are the lambos, astons, mustangs vettes like in all other gt world challenge events
GT3 has become a much more popular category since COVID. With WEC, IMSA and other series using it, it’s become harder for teams to justify attending the race. That’s one part of the reason for lack of variety though. The other reason is Audi, Bentley, Honda and Nissan have decided to end their GT3 programs. It’s such a great shame, 2020 was the first race I ever attended, and was amazed with the variety. To slowly see the lack of variety is disappointing

V12 Vantage sound 🥵
AM engines are pretty fire. That’s for sure
"One man, one lap" absolute chills
These GT cars are awesome. They stick to the road like sh!t on a blanket and the late braking is phenomenal.
Maro Engel 2023 pole was absolutely legend.
Man was he on the absolute edge sparing nothing.
Hopefully we get another insane battle in qualifying this year🔥
88 Ferrari didn't lock up. It was the turbo chirping away.
