WOW!!! KANE!!!?? Actually, I shouldn't be surprised. A lot of people don't know that many professional wrestlers, when not in the squared circle, are very intelligent, articulate, well-read folks. John "Bradshaw" Layfield comes to mind, as he wrote a best-selling book some years ago on stock investing, and is a successful entrepreneur outside of pro wrestling.

One of the most intelligent people in wrestling. I know that's what is always expected to be said but I legitimately doubt the Kane character would've been as successful if it was given to someone else. He was great both behind the mask and without it, he always delivered when Kane changed and brought new-layers to the character, whether he was the monster, the psychopath, the comedic character or the jealous vicious brother of The Undertaker. Glenn is one of the best things that happened to WWE

During the Second Punic War, the Romans introduced a new monetary system based on the Denarius, which was a silver coin, and therefore hardly "valueless." The Denarius was the backbone of the Roman monetary system for 400 years, during which the Roman economy was quite prosperous. In the third century, the emperors, most of whom reigned only a short time, ruined the Denarius. At the same time, the economy went into depression. Coincidence? I think not.

I'm gonna take his advice and learn more about the Federal Reserve System,. I can find one online--that way I won't have necessarily have to go to the library. He also has some strong valid points on the economy.

they did not interfere with the idea of the USA, they encouraged it, they funded it, they pretty much ensured that you Americans, get what you deserve... a life of servitude, a life of suffering, a life of penance.....Christianity and the fed? one offers you salvation in the afterlife, while the other, demands you obey in this life. both of them.....served to the people in such a way that, while you debate this conundrum, you do not rock the boat or think outside of the box

Although I suppose the other side of the argument is that gold standards DO NOT work exactly because governments do not honor them.
I can guarantee you this, though: It's better than the current system, which encourages out and out counterfeiting on the part of the banks.

I use the example of the government repudiating debt, because there is not enough money in the M1 money supply to pay the nominal debt. If there was, then the same assertions hold, but the economy might not be so much worse off as in the repudiation example.

Well, the idea is that a gold reserve keeps inflation in check because at any time, people can just redeem their currency for gold. It's supposed to keep the banks honest. The problem is that governments have repeatedly REMOVED the gold standard every single time they want to deficit spend (usually so they can fund war). Gold standards work(at preventing government overspending), which is why governments hate them and always demonize them.

If the US Government paid off all its debt then there would be no money. Let's examine that more closely. If the US Government repudiated all of its debt, then there would be paper in wallets and numbers in bank accounts, and the economy (or what's left of the economy after the biggest financial Armageddon of all time) would continue to use this paper as a medium of exchange. There is no reason to believe they wouldn't. There would still be money; it's the economy that would be toast.

Anyone notice how Mr Glenn is reading from a text or screen? Watch the video on full screen, observe his eye movement, and match that to what he says. So he is reading something up, so it does not come from the heart. So in effect he is acting. Do people see this? and do people understand what this implies? or are people blinded by wanting to hear what they believe? B.T.W who do you think sponsered Von Mises?

Consolidating power upon something like gold allows for more power over that vehicle. No? Why does the gold standard always fail? Because it's the few with the most that have control and the most (public) with the fewest (wealth) get screwed. In other words, 70% of the current debt is interest paid to banks. You want to peg that to gold and allow the banks even greater power over a "sound" currency? Funny.

It is time for WWE to create a Federal Reserve inspired wrestler with a well groomed beard. He will have no name but would be known only by his finishing move, the "Printing Press". He will fly into the arena in a specially equipped Chinook helicopter with a fire hose that floods the ring with Federal Reserve Notes. After The Printing Press lowers himself down into the ring, the fireworks hit, the arena goes dark, and then Kane appears and proceeds to spank some Federal Reserve candy ssA!
