It sounds like a cool adventure to be on a boat when one of those big mating whirlpools happen and the characters get drawn down into the ocean's depths into one of those air bubbles with a bunch of slaves in it. The characters could be deciding on what to do as the kraken who once held the area is either still in the mating ritual or has been killed by it.
"Teeths" I only just found your channel, and I already love you. Also, DnD Kraken sounds a bit like the Liir Elders from "Sword of the Stars". Would be pretty cool if the Unbeheld was Panzuriel's tentacle that grew into its own entity, like a starfish.
These videos are really helpful when it comes to campaigns,if my players know, for example, that green dragons put their young above all else (from the past video MrRhexx made about green dragons) and they knew beforehand that said green dragon has it's young in it's lair, they can disregard the lies of the dragon and put it's young as hostage, forcing said dragon to do my players' bidding. There's so much more about the monsters in the MM book than the info that the book gives off,and they can heighten the experience of the players if they can use that information to their advantage. And as a DM,i must know said information so that i know what my players are trying to do,that's why these videos are way more helpful than a handful of people might think.
“ The day was a slow one, hot and windless, and we sat a drift on that god forsaken sea for near a fortnight before we so much as felt a salty breeze on our brows. It was on the fifteenth day at sea that it appeared. Firstly, the winds that had thus far scorned our vessel was whipped into a frenzied gale. So great were the forces of the storm, that the mast of the ship bent to the point of destruction, snapping and splintering into a hail of wooden needles that rained down claiming the lives of two deckhands. It was not long after this that the second calamity befell us. The sea, which had been in a state of dead calm not but the night before, writhed as if alive and trying desperately to escape its bondage. Waves, taller than any I have seen in my twenty seafaring years, crashed around us, threatening to smash our iron enforced hull like rotted driftwood. By this time, between the thrashing waves and hollowing gusts, the sea around us appeared to boil, as if the gates of the nine hells had been opened by some arch-demon. It was then, amongst the battering waves and cutting gale that we met our fourth and final doom. Great and terrible arms reached up from the deep, each one lines with suckers and tipped with jagged barbs that even the most vile creatures of the Underdark would recoil from at the sight of them. The four hellish appendages rose to greet us in our hour of despair, coiling tightly around the length of our only salvation, for if the ship was lost to the sea, we would all surely perish. And so it was. The beastly arms needed but to twist only once, and our vessel was torn asunder. Iron and wood exploded violently outwards, shredded as easily as snapping tinder for the fire, and all hands were lost to the unforgiving depths. My memory of that dark day ends there, for the next thing I can recall clearly is being found washed ashore, beaten and bloodied, and near half dead from lack of water and food. You may think me daft or crazed, but I tell you I ain’t. I’ve seen the beasts of the deep, I’ve seen the one they call Kraken, and I tell you, sure as I live, that those monsters will be the end of us all. Gods help us! Gods help us all!!” Testament of Ishtar Mally, first mate and sole survivor of the disappearance of the merchant ship Red Dawn.

Always happy to see a new video. You do great work. They provide solid info and inspiration for my own campaigns. I am currently running Storm King's Thunder and the Cult of the Kraken plays a big part of our game. In my canon the Kraken was the right hand of Anman, the one eyed Allfather God of the Giants. They helped to fight elementals and powerful beings as the Giants helped to form the Material world. Once the war was over and peace and come, the Gods saw that the Kraken had many children and was dominating the seas. The Giants betrayed the Kraken and all its offspring, and several millennia later the Original Alpha Kraken is still healing but ready to exact revenge upon the world.

thank you so much for getting the distinction between the tentacle and arms right. My animal nerd inside is singing songs of praise XD
Intro: plays
Aboliths: wtf dude
It sounds like a cool adventure to be on a boat when one of those big mating whirlpools happen and the characters get drawn down into the ocean's depths into one of those air bubbles with a bunch of slaves in it. The characters could be deciding on what to do as the kraken who once held the area is either still in the mating ritual or has been killed by it.
Anyone else thinking about Uk'otoa? Great video as usual!
Archon Megas uk’otooaaa
"Some krakens seek Undeath" *Krakolich*
The Great Unbeheld as warlock patron.
I feel like that would be one for a certain half orc named after a car company.
"Teeths"
I only just found your channel, and I already love you.
Also, DnD Kraken sounds a bit like the Liir Elders from "Sword of the Stars".
Would be pretty cool if the Unbeheld was Panzuriel's tentacle that grew into its own entity, like a starfish.
What they dont tell you about the Kraken:
- they like to vore Liam O'brians character.
Broooooooo
Ever need to learn some lore for a campaign you're writing.... Mr Rhexx is the man for the job. Absolute legend carry on the good work my man.
Please do something on the essence of pure evil, the makers of strahd, the dark ones. The formless entities of the shadowfell.
Male Castrated Lich Krakens looking at the storms: "SIMPS!"
these videos just get better and better, keep up the good work!
I literally just added a kraken to the campaign earlier today lol
Exceptional series of very informative content.
The way you talks makes it extremelly enjoyable.
Gods help us all!!”
Testament of Ishtar Mally, first mate and sole survivor of the disappearance of the merchant ship Red Dawn.
Nice work on the video!
this makes me wish kraken warlocks didnt get left behind in UA
Great Old One definitely fits an ancient Kraken
Once again I just want to thank you for all your efforts
19:40 metal. Rip me apart ladies lmfao
J’adore! I was going to use this in my upcoming session and needed this!
I actually kind of like the 5e kraken. it has a unique look to it, and it looks like a monstrosity and not just a giant squid. it LOOKS like what it's stats would suggest, an intelligent, magical monstrosity, instead of just a comparatively boring giant squid.
Thank you so much for this. I just started a campaign with my 7yo and he want's a pirate adventure. I don't see how any reasonably exciting sailing adventure could NOT include a Kraken at some point, so this will be immensely helpful.
Anything unique about vampires in the D&D universe compared to other interpretations in fantasy?
From how they made to their set of powers. Afull fledged vampire is nigh unstoppable. Only the Witcher comes close to vamp overpowerness of D&d
@@bezyn2291 what about the antideluvians and cain from the old world if darkness the only one that ever got killed took the combined efforts of some asian vampire curses, a magic enhanced nuke and the big collective of mages useing a giant solar death ray to glass it from orbit. Id say that tops the witcher.
I absolutely love these D&D videos they help me with my campaign so much your work is amazing thank you
You should work with Wizards, you're just too good! Where do you find all this information, if even the manuals are lacking?
He's mentioned in other videos that he gets it from older materials from other editions.
Manly manuals from 4e and 3e for the dragons. Kraken probably on the monsters manuals of 2e
So a kraken is a plot point for my characters and is tied into a personal arc for one of them, so I appreciate the video!
Every time I hear him say "Tenta-cles" I want to drink Tea in a pretentious manner.
This channel is really cool because it gives me amazing ideas for campaigns and I really enjoy the stories from the lore of these monster
Oh hey, some darkest dungeon stuff in the video. Since you mentioned elves... why not cover some of the elvish races?
this is good to know as i have a pirate hunter who made a pact with creature of the deep.
I want shadow dragons, and dracoliches.
Or void dragons
Thank you for this. I am currently working on a lawful evil tempest cleric and intend to use much of this information in creating him.
Can you do demons next
11:02 this was so sudden I thought someone was breaking into my house
Dude i want u to do the kraken-lich
this is definitely my favorite one youve made yet
are u stalking our campaign or why are you always relevant xD
Yessss this was the next thing I was hoping for in your series, seeing I’m running a Kraken in my own game
Wait...... So squidward is not actually a squid
This gave me a good idea for a later storyline for my party. Thanks for the video and the idea for the storyline.
“The Great Unbeheld” is a fantastic name. XD
Why does the kraken look so different in 5e? Because 5e is basically one gigantic retcon.
Most xE's are Retcons hence the new x and not x.5
@@4717-b7j I'm going to respectfully disagree with that. D&D lore was fairly consistent from 1e and 4e as long as you stuck to the core rulebooks. Dragons did magic, krakens were squids, and orcs were a little bit rapey and pig-like. But in 5e Wizards decided to turn it all on its head because basically "lore that's been canon for thirty years is boring."
@@HoundofOdin Fair.
How many tickles does it take to make a kraken laugh?
Ten tickles
What they don't tell you about human's? - D&D
Yes. Make this one!
OMG! Thank you so much! I don't know if you read my comment on the last video, but I appreciate what you did here! Keep up the amazing work! If you keep doing lair creatures, that would be awesome!
