Devastating Chennai Rajdhani Express: High Speed Station Skips Compilation

- Along with the Trivandrum Rajdhani, the Chennai Rajdhani has one of the most aggressive schedules on Indian Railways, given the distance it covers. The train travels for 2,175 kilometres, in a little over 28 hours, which include at least two stretches where the train is restricted to a top speed of 110 kmph. Regardless, the train maintains a fine tempo, as the Lallaguda WAP7 leads it across 6 states into the national capital of Delhi.
This collection documents the major station skips undertaken by the 12433 Chennai Rajdhani Express. A large number of skips occur in the 431 km non-stop run from Chennai to Vijayawada. We initially have three slow skips of Gudur, Nellore and Bitragunta in Andhra Pradesh, before picking up some good speed through Kavali. Ongole is covered at a sedate pace but we are again at our best through Chirala. Post Vijayawada, the Chennai Rajdhani really opens up in 120 kmph territory. The train simply flies through the relatively large stations of Khammam, Dornakal, Ramagundam and Manchiriyal, hitting 115-120 kmph in each case. At Sirpur Kaghaznagar, we overtake the Kerala Express. As evening fell, we entered the Bhusaval-Nagpur stretch through the magnificent Sewagram curve.
I was rather tired after being on high alert through the day and went to sleep early, missing the night time skips of Betul, Amla, Narkher, Itarsi, Vidisha, Bina and Lalitpur. That was however made up by the Chennai Rajdhani's blitz post Jhansi. We were around 15-20 minutes delayed at Jhansi, and the Rajdhani went on a rampage through the rugged terrain of Madhya Pradesh. The skip of Morena at 130 kmph marks one of the fastest passages which I have witnessed on Indian Railways. There was a restriction at Dhaulpur and we cruised through Mathura: our last major skip enroute Delhi.
Spent a lotta time back in the day, Rail fanning, and travelling by train on the north - south corridor .. foot boarding :)
And today, barely get a chance..
Watching these videos makes me nostalgic. Thank you so much dude. Please continue this ..
Many times have traveled in this route especially in TN exp, GT exp, Duronto, Rajdhani, it's amazing route with train squeezing thru most AP stations at great speed. Hope India bring many high speed trains in the future, which help many of its citizens travel comfortably at a fare which is very competitive in the world, which I m sure no other country can afford given the facilities. Long live Indian Railways, it's employees, their families. Jai Bharat!
A Great Effort and Superb Video. Apart from several trail journeys, best was in August 1977 by Tamil Nadu Express from New Delhi to Vijayawada flat 23 hours. The bogies were designed for 160 kmph as was mentioned on both rear sides of coaches. Spectacular journey all through with N. Delhi to Agra in flat 120 minutes for 195 kms, non stop. During that era, no electrification and no concrete sleepers.
.k..
No
Stupendous videography !!! Specially the zoom in and zoom out effects made the photography tantalizing !!! Also the rotation of the camera is fabulous!! Altogether a different and extremely dynamic presentation !!! Keep it up !!!
This video is the best one on India's trains, so far, on youtube. If you haven't watched this one, and if you are reading this comment, please watch it quickly. It's very-beautiful.
Thanks a lot! :)

Splendid. Excellent coverage.
WAP 7 rocks. After all we payed huge money to ABB Switzerland to get the technology right.
We paid it for WAP5 , wap7 is made out of wag9

THATS A REALLY VERY GREAT VIDEO u dared a lot to capture Momentum from a such horrible SPEED train. I felt that i really travelled along with the train and great picture quality.
Nice and thank you.
superb video !
K good time oigfddd
That was a wonderful video. I really enjoyed it. Thanks a lot.
You have done such a nice job taking video and writing description. You don't need to sensationalize the work with misleading title.
Great Video! BTW Dhaulpur (sometimes spelt Dholpur) between Gwalior (MP) and Agra (UP) is in Rajasthan and not UP (as a couple of others have mentioned as well)
A really nice and well made video! Congrats!
I have also watched many other videos that you have posted.. and I especially like the compilation of many of India's rivers and the railway bridges across them.
However, I would like to point out that Dholpur (17:56) is *not* in Uttar Pradesh as you have stated in this (and some other) video(s). Dholpur is the eastern most large town/city of Rajasthan!
Moving north from Bhopal towards NDLS, there is a quick procession of state boundaries:
Bina (M.P) --> Jhansi (U.P) --> Gwalior (M.P) --> Dholpur (Raj.) --> Agra (U.P)
The river Chambal forms the boundary between M.P and Rajasthan around these parts, and moving north towards NDLS, crossing the river would bring one into Rajasthan. This line passes through perhaps less than 30 Kms in Rajasthan, but technically adds one more state to the count.

Enjoyed watching this. Thanks for sharing video.
This is a very well taken video and many thanks to the person who shot it. But I sincerely wish the Indian Railways installs electric doors that lock when the train in motion on the Rajdhanis and other superfast trains. Open doors are very dangerous. All it would have taken is a sudden lurch while moving over a point at high speed to pitch the cameraman out of the compartment and either kill or cripple him.
No it's safe if you are careful and don't do anything stupid.
Fully rainy season but great video good job
Great video..appreciate your efforts buddy. ..take some precautions while shooting near the doors of a super fast train👍. .train journey is the best way to discover the Indian countryside. ..I would like to visit A.P in the mansoon season by rajdahani express if possible☺
Chalti train ko dekne ka kuch maza hi alag hai 😍😍😍😍😍
Straight into my favs!! Awesome compilation :)
excellent
Gr8 compilation! enjoyed it.
Yukukj5jj
Nice compilation! Enjoyed thoroughly
Thanks a lot! :)
Amazing video and visuals. I enjoyed very much.
Nice video of journey in Chennai Rajdhani!
Enjoyed watching this. I watch a lot of train videos and have noticed that passenger trains in India seem to be the longest. Given the massive numbers of people there, I guess that would be right. Is this true? Does India have the longest passenger trains?
Yes.
where do u c ppl hanging and rec. vid on moving train....
David James
@@truth-ip1qj isn't it 1.676m
Yes, english man
Dhaulpur is in Rajasthan not up
but a good nd nice compilation👌👌
Perfect family pack mate, crossing TN, Overtaking Kerala, High Speed....Wish u could have added crossing MAS bound Coromandel.... Great journey indeed
Thanks a lot! :) I actually missed the Coromondal as someone else took advantage of my 1 minute trip to the bathroom and occupied the door! Was really disappointed by that. I will be producing a full journey compilation of this trip in 4-5 parts and that should include more crossings with other trains. There is a decent crossing with TNSK! :)
Nice video.Enjoyed watching it..
krishnaMohan Mande
Great video
Pl. be careful as standing in the doorway while shooting is dangerous!!
Also don't understand why you kept zooming in?? as this seemed to reduce the speed even further?
superb
Thanks a lot! :)
Best of Indian Railways I'm traveling to delhi from which is better rajdhani or duronto?
sandeep
Video of decade
Dhaulpur is in Rajasthan, not UP. Great video.
Awesome video
Fab video , be careful though , danger of standing at the door should not be under estimated , especially that of a high speed train.
.
I'm
Wow super I love this video
nice coverage big bro
Nice captured.
I love Raj,that was a real treat to my senses.
Awesome loved it!
WAP7 is the real power beast. The 6000 HP is hardly manufactured any whare in the world.
That thing is bloody moving man. 10 out of 10 for filming from the door but be careful mate.
excellent coverage
If there was some way to better this wonderful video where you could have filtered off the noise of the breeze and enhance the sound of the train zipping over on the tracks it would have been even more wonderful
Great video..
good job , nice video
fantastic compilation...superb
Great video - (minus) the litter everywhere.
I absolutely agree!
i am a loco pilot of a rajdhani train didnt found that uh people enjoy the journeys....
Sir ...u peopl are the one becoz of whom we passengers r save n njoy our journey
Hello sir
Good day sir. You are doing a great job.
Awesome compilation...!!!
A very super and well done. :o)
mast video , nice complilation , keep it up!
Sir
Please provide one minute halt at Kavali RS. Except Jammu Tawi express we do not have alternate train to go to Delhi. Ours is a prominent town with feeding to Kadapah Chittoor and Kurnool districts through Kavali - Duthalyr - Nandipadu - Birder - Pedapolukunta Vadvel - Mydukur.
Even it has no lift facility for old and physically challenged passengers besides ladies. Hence many passengers r opting to go by buses thus Railways losing potential traffic Sir.😁🙏
Nice capture
nice video, but really felt sorry for a such a prestigious train like kerala express being over taken...
In India, Rajdhanis enjoy top notch priority. So any other train, no matter how sentimental from ones point of view has to play a second fiddle to them.
Very nice... i enjoyed... Thanks for all efforts
hmm Ritadhi da, on seeing the Gudur skip I remembered that 12611 GR stops at both Gudur and Ongole but has the same schedule of Dep. MAS 6.10 and Arr. BZA at 11.50 or 12 noon. I think 2611 only has a technical halt at WL while 2433 has a stop.... and at least earlier, 2433/34 did not have a halt at BPQ but have a technical halt, while 2611 had...... 2611's arrival time at BPQ is around 5-10 mts. prior to arrival of 2622 TN Exp. 2611 is also a rare train of SR (PM at MAS) that comes to NZM on Sundays, but doesn't leave back the same day, as most non-NR trains tend to do in Delhi area, but it leaves on Monday at 1555 hrs. and stays at NZM for nearly 28 hrs. But it is not an exception, as the incoming 2625 Kerala, which reaches NDLS at about 1.40 pm, departs at 11.25 am the next day
hw much distance cvrs ds train in hw much time? nice speed n video
IRFAN ALI 2270 km in 28 hrs 15 min
Thanks for the trip buddy.
Why do the Indian Rail coaches shake so much.
Hi Bernard,
There are three reason for your query, first the long length of trains. second mix use of rail infra. third which is depended on second reason is that tracks which are optimize for load carrying then speed due to Indian demographic and economic requirement.
Nice work!! Enjoyed the video a lot. Hope you aren't risking life taking the video.. must be really fast standing at the door with 1 hand on the videocamera. Have you considered using GoPro or using that already ?
I wonder how many people are killed each year on IR as a result of falling off trains as a result of standing/sitting in open coach doorways? Are there no security personnel aboard IR trains? Why is this practice allowed?
After 9.00 train speed is superb good risky work to capture at high speed
Good effort.
Lovely video.
My dear friend for information Dhaulpur is in Rajasthan. Not many people know it but it is in Rajasthan. You can check on Google
Good one buddy. Thanks
nice compilation (y)
khub bhalo laglo :)
Awesome journey compilation !
Passing thro' Rajahmundry and majestic railway come roadway bridge on Gidavari were skipped. Pity.
Super video super dpeed
Super video!
110 kmph dude back in the 1990's the Rajdhani used to go at 130 kmph.
make correction in video, Dhaulpur is in Rajasthan ,NOT IN U.P
I think Chennai Rajdhani doesn't enter Rajasthan !!! May be same name wud be in Rajasthan also
Simply amazing compilation
I'm from andhra pradesh i know all these places well
Chennai Rajdhani Express is much faster & aggressive than Trivandrum Rajdhani Express.
I seriously don't understand what is devistating in this video.. please edit the title
18:04 Dholpur is in Rajasthan Not Uttar Pradesh
nice work
Wonderful
How do you tell speed of trains??
beautiful two engines at 12:36
What was devastated?
Super Horn bro super speed
Fantastic
Excellent video man! My God! what's the woman on the drains doing between the trains passing by? Look like she's having a 'nature call'! Really risky and disgusting! Looks alike a very long journey. How many hours? Foods in trains?
shes cleaner!! not natures call or somemthing
Oh sorry! Pity her doing the cleaning between trains rushing past her! This is v risky work! why cant they wait till later when there is less trains passing and the company buy her a yellow colour uniform for God's sake! Work safety issues! This iwll not happen in any other countries!
Littl Mastr Ha ha !!! Here in Ukraine in the same way. Pay little, and forced to work for three! I work as a locomotive for $ 120 a month. We are told: "Do not like it - Get out of here!" A family to feed, and that's working))))
How do you know the speed of train at every station in your journey?
I think some High end android based high definition mobile phone camera should have been used take this video. I came to know through one of my friend that some android based applications are there to detect the speed of the object on the move / travelling. He also said that he had tested this while driving his two wheeler and both the speedo meter and android phone shown the same speed rate at the same time at real time.
SRIKANTH SRIDHARAN
It is called Ulyssee Speedometer. It is one of the amazing apps I have ever downloaded and tested it as well on both Indian Railways and Korail (Korean Railways). In Ko Rail, the speed of the train is displayed and I checked it with my Ulyssee application. It was accurate. Download it and enjoy.
Great. Great.
super catch
vvb
the brave women
Absolutely! And they keep the railways clean! Hats off to them!
nice
Bro you did'nt show Gwalior station
