Man I love Clever and I'm rooting for him. Who is Clever is one of the most surprising mistakes I have ever stumbled upon. To me it's Grammy Award worthy. Front to back. Not one flaw. Then Crazy finally dropped and it as severely saddened and disappointed. Dude had a fire Bieber collab with Posty, a Juice and post collab on crazy and Wayne and Lil Baby etc..Chris Breezy even! I was like God damn my man is about to infuse true ability and unique painful melody onto the mainstream...then 90% of the album he literally sounded like he recorded strong an overdose. Just mumbling through it. Since then he's had glimpses of his true ability but nothing that really popped out. Emotions was a great song and something diffrent but thats it. The power in Wooden box and Never need love have disappeared. He used to have that soft sort of subdued sound but he'd always hit you with powerful crisp vocals like he does in the chorus to those songs. This one is just sad. Literally telling us the pills are killing him. He looks terrible too, and his music the last 2 years had all been that of severe sorrow without that power and fire. We love you Clever but I hope you get the help you need. Your talent is beyond. Who is Clever is a Masterpiece and if you never make another album again; that one will remain your legacy...but we need you working with a great sound engineer who understands your voice because there hasn't been one song since that album that's really nailed it imo. Rolls Royce umbrella as good as it is, didn't fully capitalize on your voice and emotions in motion is fucking fantastic and your voice had some beautiful unique flutters and cadence, I think that came the closest but when you look at Loyalty and Never need love and Wooden Box there's just no comparison. Bro you hit the nail so hard on the head you literally split the wood. Crazy was a good album, but he seemed like as he says in the song, he was dying making it. And it really showed in how it sounded, like he was full of sorrow and pills and the pain in his voice sounds almost exactly the same in this song, as that one. It hurts to know one of my favorite artists is haunting himself, I’ve been down that road, and it really hit me how I’ve noticed his burning desire that used to show in every word of his old lyrics has slowly dwindled. Honestly, I truly hope the best for him and I hope he finds that fire for his life again. I seriously hope he finds what he needs, because he deserves to be able to move forward, we all do.✌🏻
