Hello, my rog ally has installed your tutorial to unlock tdp50w, thank you very much, I have a question, that is, when I plug in the power supply to play games under 50w tdp, the battery will still lose power. The rog manager has set up battery maintenance. The program I use is universal x86 tuning utility. What else do I need to do to prevent the battery from losing power? Thanks again。
If you are running it at 50W, even while plugged into power, it may lose some battery due to the higher demand, albeit slowly. Is it dropping quickly while plugged in, or just a little bit? Keep in mind that the ideal maximum power rate is 65W for ally and ally x. If you are running at 50W, even when plugged in, it may drop some battery percentage because it doesn't charge at 65W all the time. For instance, at higher battery percentages above for example 80%, it reduces its battery charging rate to protect itself
Yes! Ally can run exactly 50W too. Given its Z1 Extreme chip, there's no difference in GPU clock. However, the memory timings have different values. I have the original video for the Ally, my unit has Samsung memory, but there are also others by Micron and, I believe, SK Hynix. It depends on the region, in Europe, we get Samsung ua-cam.com/video/lckQfPczgDk/v-deo.htmlsi=du2lO7eyuu9cWo9S
They're a one-time set in BIOS, but if you reset settings to default or install a new BIOS version, they get erased. In the OS, you only need to set it above 30W, even with handheld companion if you don't use universal x86 tuning utility
With every 5 W, there was roughly a 1 fps increase. It's to be expected, the APU sweet spot is already how they originally set it. Anything above that is extra and provides marginal gains. But it's great how the Ally X is not overheating at 50W, it can easily be used daily at 35-40 W

Is there an easy way to default these changes ?

4 fps more with 85 gpu temp 😂😂😂
