Great passage there! I remember the first beers in the Nautilus opposite the marina after sailing Madeira to Mindelo, and the flying fish too! Enjoy the island.

Hi Luke and Adam, I am so pleased you've got to CVI and found a decent anchorage. But the biggest shock of the trip has to be the disgraceful lack of cheese on board. No wonder Luke had the shaky shakes. But the best bit was the look on both your faces at the anchorage when the realization dawn you had really made it. Absolutely brilliant. By the by, flying fish taste a bit like swan and you can fry the wings for a great meal of Bakey Bakes...... Best Wishes, David

You are inspiring boys well done, my wife said that you made it look enjoyable almost like something she might like to do. She said next time get alot more cheese Gouda keeps really well and even if it gets a little bit mouldy you can safely cut it off

Wow! Great accomplishments: arriving at Cape Verde and Martinique all in the same week! Not surprising about the crowds, this is high season for crossing the Atlantic to the Caribbean. The Dorado fish looked delicious. I heard that a lack of cheese can make you go mad!
Yes it's peak season. Can be a little bit confusing arriving in Cape Verde and the Caribbean within a week. It's a shame the videos are 4 weeks behind, but we need the gap. That fish was absolutely delicious Cathy 😋

Great achievement lads, you've gone proper foreign now. I know you are even further now. Sometimes if you have your fishing line in a birdsnest, if you put it back over the side the water pressure will sometimes unravel it. Enjoy

If you catch flying fish onboard (or others on your fishing line) beyond what you want that day simply keep them in a bucket of seawater till you want to eat them.
We haven't eaten any flying fish yet. We have only used them as bait to catch Mary Mary and tuna. Our bucket is black the water heats up really quickly inside 🙄

In UK you never considered that a black bucket would heat up so much right? (I'm in the tropics now, so I learned that too.)

For keeping cheese with no fridge, you are supposed to be able to store cheese in olive oil and that stops it going off. Could be worth a try.

We are really proud of Atlas Craig. She is copper coated. We have never had an issue with barnacles, only a little bit of slime.
