- The first televised debate between U.S. President Joe Biden, and his Republican rival, former President Donald Trump saw a shaky, tentative performance from Biden that rattled Democrats.
While Trump battered him with falsehoods and the two oldest U.S. presidential candidates ever descended into an exchange of personal insults.
Appearing on CNN's Presidential Debate on Thursday, four months before Election Day in November, the two traded barbs on abortion, inflation, the wars in Ukraine and Gaza, even their golf games, as they aimed to shake up what opinion polls show has been a virtually tied race for months.
Former adviser to Clinton and Bush administrations Steve Gill joins Talk’s Russell Quirk to discuss this further.

My mother died from dementia and I say the signs years ago. Watching Biden is making me relive my mom. Shame on his wife and family for not taking action!
I'm a 36 yr old guy, spent the last 5 years watching my elderly dad deteriorate with alzheimers and dementia, I helped care for him till the end.
The fact there are people who prop up someone suffering like this for their own financial reward and 'power' literally makes my skin crawl. Very often, the lowest of the low make their way to positions of power, unfortunately. He was obviously already suffering when he came to office. Disgusting.

Before Obama was President, he said he 'had a vision', but it was obvious that the 'vision' was the view from a large compound on the waterfront of Martha's Vineyard for himself. The moderators were very professional and seemed very fair. This was a good debate to watch but Joe was confused , looked ill, and apparently he has not a clue what he is saying. He needs to be removed asap from the white house.

My husband and I are in the same boat. We’re early 60’s, chose Not to buy medical insurance because it’s so expensive and doesn’t cover anything!
