Thanks so much. From the comments I realize basically it doesn’t matter which direction it is threaded as long as it is clean and smoothly applied So maybe even I won’t go wrong🤞🏼
Hey bud, 25+ year plumber here and not to be mean, but I don't sugar coat what I think. Wrapping it counter-clockwise will actually *increase* the chances of a leak, due to the threads cutting into and against the tape, as opposed to threading *with* it because it spreads and applies it evenly. The reason your method "works" is because you go around the threads 200 times.
You trying to put plumbers out of business? Jkjk I’m not a plumber but I do trust them to an extent well a lot but am open to new ideas(logical ones). What if I do both CW first two times then CCW once, hope it works🤞🏻I think they don’t recommend CCW because it could end up forward and block the front blocking water and bursting pipes so maybe counter clockwise at the back?
As explained in the video, tearing and bunching and not being evenly distributed is the point. Gaps are filled and leaks do not occur when this happens. Tape is meant to be sacrificed, and to jam the openings, not to be smooth and allow leaks. Clearly Sean and Tyler C don't agree. To each their own...
What happens if you don't use teflon tape?
And do you put the teflon tape on both sides or just the one side shown on the video?
