Had 4 outbacks,a 2006,2015,2220,and now a 2024 outback premium,in Autumn green metallic,as a 75 year old ,who has driven a lot of junks,these cars are heaven!
My wife and I picked up a 2024 Premium about 6 weeks ago. We live in the U.P. of Michigan where we normally get a ton of snow. So far, we love our Outback!
This car is also 5 inches longer than the Subarus back in 1990. I find that quite amazing for a Subaru these days. I have owned a Subarus since 1975 when they came out with the 1200cc Boxer engine. These cars seem to be able to outperform other cars and trucks in many ways, especially during the wintertime in the snow.
Thanks so much for the review! I live in the PNW. I bought metallic gray w gray interior subaru outback 2024 premium, option 15 package 2 days ago. I still don't know how to work all the bells and whistles. I got the dog seat cover for the back seat, all weather mats and all weather mats for the back of the back seat, so when you put it down, they are protected from my big ol muddy golden retriever after our adventures;) I traded in a 2010 nissan altima that had 196,000 miles on it that I bought brand new. I am hoping to get 200-300,00 miles on this subaru. Pros and Cons so far for me. Pros-I almost ran into a vehicle the day I bought it and the safety braking system saved my ass! BIG PRO! love the color. The ride is really nice and smooth over speed bumps, hardly feel them. I am 5'10 and I fit very comfortably in it and so does my 80 pound golden, Kimchi. We haven't slept in it yet but plan on it and we will both comfortably fit with the seats down. The roof rack has retractable cross bars with the push of a button. Major selling point. When not using the cross bars for a SUP or Kayak, I can retract them since having it all set up affects gas mileage. Cons-cup holders in the middle are small, coming from an Altima. I cannot fit a hyrdoflask or a big mason jar with my smoothie. Would've been nice to have a cup insert that comes out to make it bigger. Guess I will have to purchase a thinner, taller water container. Glove box is extremely small and with the owner's manual in it (which is huge), not much room to put anything else in it. Center console storage is way smaller than what I am used to also....guess that will help me even more with my minimalist lifestyle;) Floor is black so golden retriever hair really shows up, do not know if any other option would have been available. I was looking for a 2023 but was hard to find, so got this one.
That’s very exciting for you and Kimchi! Big upgrade over the aging Nissan, especially for the activities you enjoy. For light weight objects like SUP and Kayaks the factory bars are perfect and very convenient. Goldens are the best, one was our family dog when I was growing up. Thanks for watching! 🙂
I paid a little over 35 which include the back dog seat cover and the all weather mats that go on the back of the backseat so when the seats are down, my muddy dog won't mess up the back of the eats. How much are you paying and what color are you getting? Something to let you know in case you don't already-first 1,000 miles or so get really crappy gas mileage. I mentioned it to the dealership and they said that is normal while the car is breaking in. Also, try to avoid hard braking, quick acceleration etc during the first few thousand miles...you really want to baby it at first. @@wendymeulemans708
I like how Subie puts the amber light for Blind Spot alert on the inside of the mirror housing, not in the far corner of the mirror itself, like most every other car. They could go even better by putting the alert light on the inside of the door's vent glass, much like my 2016 Acura MDX.
I like the gas tank on the passenger side, can usually slide right in and get gas while others are lined up for the drivers side tank. Would have liked the auto lift gate, otherwise am very happy with our first Subaru!
That’s true! The 2.4 T in my experience does the best around 68mph once it’s warmed up. I’ve gotten as good as about 34MPG on 30-200 mile drives on occasion in my Wilderness in that specific set of conditions.
I would have loved the 2.4T.. Minnesota winters and short errand driving would have been really hard on it. Plus the added cost ruled it out for me. It's not very often that I wish I had it anymore. 2.5 is good enough. 2.4 is still more fun though...
I have a 14 Outback that I bought new in October 2013. I am thinking about the 24 Outback, but it is hard to buy a new Outback since my 14 Outback runs great.
New car prices are out of control. I'm done paying ridiculous amounts of money for new cars. However, I'm THRILLED with my new 2024 Chevrolet Trailblazer LS. And I didn't even get the RS because it's $5000.00 more. Thank you very much!
Does this display your engine temperature? Also, if anyone has one of these and has gotten the console CD player I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on that.
The screen should be able to be configured with the engine oil temp and the coolant cold/normal/hot widgets, at least mine does. I can’t personally speak to the CD player, anyone have one?! Thanks for watching! 🙂
I just bought one yesterday and ai have auto life and I have push start and a sunroof. I don’t know what version this is but I have a 2024 with all the bells and whistles and heated seats in the back
Interesting, for the 2024 Outback, only the Touring trim gets the latest 3 camera eyesight safety system, but if you buy an Impreza, all trim levels for 2024 get the 3 camera eyesight system. Guess the Subaru people don't think all things in life have to make good sense. 😊
You can look at the eye sight cameras from the exterior of the car through the windshield and see if it has two cameras or three camera lens. The 3 cameras is just the slightly better and newest revision of the system. 🙂
@@AutomotiveAnonymous208 Actually, I think it was on while you were driving, but thanks for the info. One of these days, I'll remember to turn off TCS in my 2020 Outback. Anyways, this winter, I think I need to find a nice, empty parking lot and find out what the traction control is doing when my wheels slip. The car is definitely not responding like my old Legacy LS.
Absolutely! The turbo 2.4 completely solves the power problem of the 2.5 Outback’s. After having owned a turbo model I couldn’t imagine going back to an NA Subaru.
Car prices from 2-3 years ago seem so much more affordable now than they did at the time. It sad to see such big jumps in yearly inflation in this current model year for many vehicles. 😓 Thanks for watching!

That’s awesome to hear, I hope you guys enjoy it for a long time to come! 🙂
Is it driving smooth? How is the body roll and handling? And how much mpgs are you getting? I heard it gives far less than EPAs?

Great video thank you. Just bought a 2024 outback premium yesterday
I’m glad you enjoyed it. Congrats on the Outback, very exciting! 🙂
It’s been a while since I was into cars. Good to be back again 👍
I’m glad you’re back! 😎
Ordered my Premium today! Didn't need all the extras, just wanted the larger display.
That’s exciting! 🙂

Thanks for the review. I just ordered one today with OS15. Will be here in October. Anything o need to know? May I ask the price you paid?

We’re on our way to pick one up now!
Nice!!

I agree, their placement is rather good. Although I’m not a fan of the new smaller BSM light on at least the new Impreza/Crosstrek. 😢
One of the best cars ever made.
That’s for sure!
Just bought mine! Thanks for the review!!

The 2.4 turbo is a *must have* 🏁
It makes a big difference! 🙂
It's a tough call. Turbos can become really thirsty in cold weather or when pushed hard.

@@AutomotiveAnonymous208 I thought the turbos did worse on gas mileage. They do better?

I get that! Thanks for watching, and briefly sharing your experience with the 2014.

Great Video! Just what new buyer looking for .....
I’m glad you liked it!
Really nice Suv? Maybe it is just a Wagon?? 😕 Confused. I need ☕ coffee . 😮😮
I love Subaru, I hate that cladding around the wheel wells. It look so cheap and the shape is so odd. 2022’s had nice smooth lines.
That sign off was hilarious.😂
Lol, I’m glad you liked it! 🙂

Thank you for honking the HORN! No one checks or reviews it.
You’re welcome! I try to get include that in every video, but on occasion I forget, lol.

I thought the same thing… 🤷♂️😬😅
@AutomotiveAnonymous208
From what I understand, if you buy an Outback in Canada, all trims have the 3 camera eyesight system.
@@AutomotiveAnonymous208 Na the 03 costed 2K plus more than 02. And no manual. Ugh
What is the 3 camera system? What would mine have? Still trying to figure everything out

So, if the display is not working, you don't have heat, AC, heated seats or radio?
To my understanding, that is correct. Although I have only heard of one system going out on one of the models forums.
Have a 2023 Outback Premium, can only average 22 mpg combined.
Not sure why but a little disappointing.
Was hoping for at least 25.
That is surprising! 🤔
wow thats insane!
I think premium does not have rear auto brake sensors
How are the cvt transmissions holding up?
Seem to be doing really well, I recommend reading people’s experiences on the forums. 🙂
Does that red light on the dash indicate Traction Control is off?
No, the TC off is a yellow light. The red light was likely the no seat belt light when I was sitting in the parking lot. 🙂

Does the premium have any add-on options such as power liftgate premium sound?
On Subaru’s website it shows it offers optional package 13 and 15. OP15 includes a power lift gate. But I don’t see anything about premium sound. 🙂
No Harmon karmon,in the premium, save your money,it’s goog but not that good!
Harmon karmon, definetly not worth it!4 time outback owner!Stay away from the turbo!
So the heated seats aren't part of an option package?
I think it’s part of the All Weather Package, at least in the U.S. Thanks for watching! 🙂
The looks, runs and gas mileage is all good except the car is so weak during acceleration, that's why the head gasket not last long
Absolutely! The turbo 2.4 completely solves the power problem of the 2.5 Outback’s. After having owned a turbo model I couldn’t imagine going back to an NA Subaru.
Those stupid looking asymmetrical fender flares are a crime.
Lol 😂
seriously? a space saver on a Subaru?
Fricking raised Outback prices 8k in 2 years. F them!
