Thank you. I've taken it about ten times now, since I first got it a few weeks ago. If I take over 90 mg I get headaches during the second half of the day. If I take less than 40 mg it's okay, but nothing spectacular. Yerba mate is probably about as good, maybe even better. Caffeine plus L-theanine, same. I haven't fine-tuned my dosages yet, to find out what is optimal. I'm going to try different dosages in the 40-85 mg range to see if there's a sweet spot. At this point, I lean more toward yerba mate, yerba mate plus L-theanine, caffeine plus L-theanine, guayusa, and maybe guarana plus L-theanine.
Just started 100mg a day. Very good experience. Im wide awake all day vs I needed to nap daily for over an hour. Plus I stay up an extra 1-2 hours at night.
I use it 2 weeks every day then take 1month break, during break i use DLPA, Kratom, caffeine etc, Rotating substances will make you never addicted/your tolerance will be super low.
This is a caveat to your caveat because I think more doctors & patients (and I suppose pharmacists) will err on the side of caution, but I’d like people to know the OPPOSITE is also true for some select people. RE: amphetamines, not modafinil-I struggled with anxiety for 30 years of my life, which got worse in my 40s. I was finally (recently) diagnosed with ADHD. The literal hour I took stimulant medication for the first time in my life (at 43), I experienced my first sense of relief from anxiety. And once I started to take it daily, not only had my insomnia improved by roughly 80%, but my anxiety was nearly gone-improved by 90-95%! So for people who have anxiety and a diagnosis to support taking stimulants, don’t necessarily shy away from them unless you have other medical reasons not to try them. It might help your anxiety instead of making it worse. But if it makes it worse, then you can stop taking it and talk to your doctor about a non-stimulant. (Maybe try one with a shorter half-life than modafinil for your first round though. 😊)
Ive been on a high dose of modafinal for years now 200-400mg depending on how my sleep is. I have noticed a high dependancy, even if I feel awake I have very low motivation to do things until i have the modafinal. High blood pressure and high HR. Another is a bit embarrassing but ED might becoming an issue On and off anyway.
You should probably take some time off it if you can. When I feel it stop working at 200mg I usually take a 2-4 week break and its effectiveness jumps right back up.

Not having a MOA is totally strange to me with lack of a better word! This drug when it first came out was touted as all the benefits of amphetamine with none of the side effects. Well it's 10 times or 20 times the price of amphetamine it has every side effects that I could tell that amphetamine has. Maybe you don't get addicted as fast chemically but I guarantee you if psychologically addictive even though you may not be going through physical withdrawals like opiates. I have a lot of problems with anxiety, when I take Modafinil, it makes me so strong and secure and I get positive thoughts in social events. A little voice, like grow up, don't be a pussy and there just human just like you! I get so many other benifits from it as well. That list is endless, literally I feel like a rocket taking off. I don't need much, 50mg that I take twice. But there are side effects for me, sleeping is very hard and I'm getting pain above my ribs (not in the chest). I start love to do things, so when I have a busy day ahead, this is wonderful!

For me I had to go the internet route to get Modafinil and if you do too, be aware that some brands work better then others (India) if you would like more info if your going that way too. I do take a small amount in morning for lasitude due to multiple sclerosis diagnosis. I can really handle only 25mg. Occasionally 50 mg. It does sometimes cause anxiousness. I'll somewhat crash after about the 10th hour.
I've used modafinil on a night out on the piss and I really had a great time. The modafinil complemented the alcohol for most of the evening until, suddenly the two of them started fighting in front everyone. Punching and kicking, with no regard for each others wellbeing.
Modafinil and alcohol can be a fatal combination, so I hope you are joking here. I'm not very careful with my drug use, but when I took moda and whisky together I nearly died.
Side note, about something different, when I was on max dose of Qsymia I didn't need to take any blood pressure medication. Before and after I'm on 3 different types. I'm a combat veteran as well, u have sleep apnea and curious about modafinil
i'm particularly worried about the rash, not that i got any (its almost been year since I started) but is something that's always in my mind before taking it.
Its pretty rare its the same type of rash some people get when taking ibuprofen. If you get it just stop immediately wait for it to start going away and if it doesn't after 3 days go to a doctor. Edit: I feel like I should change this advice even if no one reads it you should probably go to the doctor immediately. It's probably not life threatening, but it can be so why take chances and it's not like the doctor will call the cops on you even if it was taken illegally.

I used it for a while easily available across the border in Mexico .I experienced a severe rash after about a month . The increased focus was nice but not worth the rash.
I have narcolepsy and it isn't doing anything except raise my blood pressure 30 points. Not sure how I can be treated for narcolepsy when my heart can't handle stimukants. Damned if I do, damned if I don't. It isn't even helping with the sleepiness.

Yea same here I would break a 100 mg in two or 4 depending on what I had to do during the day. But a half of that with some coffee had me very productive. I think I’ll get some more soon. Was on it for a while then just stopped and kinda forgot about it.

This is me speaking from experience and I'm a dietitian not a doctor. But I have to know everything about the medication for my clients are taking because most of my clients are bodybuilders and fitness athletes that are using between wood and 50 different substances AKA peds AKA drugs within a month. I would not combine Wellbutrin with provigil. It's totally counter indicated because it'll increase heart rate and blood pressure big time. Both of them do. Combined they even make it worse. I know because I'm monitored mind when I did it and I was 32 at the time and I'm 46 now. In my mind provigil is a drug made for the Young was absolutely no hint of cardiovascular or kidney disease. Again I'm not a doctor but I have a lot of clients that are. Mainly because I study the stuff that they don't have time to. You want the best information you can ever get on this go to more plates more dates on UA-cam. The guy Derek there did a specific video on provigil and he is the best I've ever ran across that doesn't charge for his advice. The man is good and I don't say that about anyone because I'm arrogant and think I'm good but he's got me on pharmacology of the newer stuff. Anyway hope information helps and it probably wouldn't matter cuz provigil is very difficult to get prescribed and it's $30 a pill. And a lot of insurance just won't pay for it without a very good diagnosis or reason.

300mg is too much for the first time but you'll be OK. Use 100mg if you feel fired, 50mg if you just want a tired free day, and 200 if you really need to sit down and hammer out a paper or something on your PC or whatever. And drink Lots more than usual! Hope you feel OK today
1st thank you Dr 2nd Dr i have a Severe Depression and Anxiety, i was described by my Dr with ZOLOFT™ 50mg 1 pill a day and XANAX™ 0.5mg 3 times a day, at the first 3 months (it was 2017) i felt like i was reborn in heaven however after that the Dr reduced the XANAX to 1 p a day and that was fine but at the 6th months she (my Dr) also reduced the same medication to 0.25mg a day and higherd up the ZOLOFT to 75mg and i was not doing well at all and i told her that then she stopped the XANAX and wanted to describe a 3 ringed antidepressants with ZOLOFT but i said no i told her i don't want to be depressed and hallucinate at the same time (my dad was a doctor too and i staid with him going to his office for 7 years i mean i grew up in his office and i learnd a lot "he was an INTER NIST, R.I.P DAD 😢" so i know a lot about meds and drugs, also before the depression started i was on DIAZEPAM 10mg half an hour before sleep also i felt great back then but my country Syria stopped making it and after 5 years the depression started) Anyways i said no "she was the best psychiatrist in Syria for real, she was German and no disrespect to the others but they were horrible" so i reduced the zoloft slowly and stopped, long story short i started taking GABAPENTIN 300mg 1 pill a day and i feel fine (i also have so many issues with my spine and spinal cord) so it stopped the back pain and psychologically i feel fine, i just wanna ask is that ok?

Health wise, its better for you than other drugs prescribed for adhd. Amphetamines can lead to addiction and a tolerance. Modafinil isn't addictive physically and is less than a stimulant then other adhd drugs like Adderall or Ritalin. Many people have success with it.
for me even a quarter tablet is enough, if not too much of it. Modafinil is pretty potent stuff. For me it's too heavy on the stimulant side where your thoughts are racing and you're wired af. it's also a bit crampy on the physical side where muscles are tightened up. I get more done while drinking Mate tea with L-theanine. It feels so much healthier to me. beside that I will try mindlab pro for longterm benefits.

I took 100mg definitely made me feel extremely clear minded and I literally did like 8 hours straight of programming, but then once it wore off I literally got sick. It's the day after now and I'm still sick. I was starting to get a very slight itchy rash on my chest but that cleared up overnight. Did the modafinil make me sick? Maybe it was the amount of programming I did was somehow hard on me? Maybe they're unrelated? I guess I'll wait until I'm back to 100% and try going to 50mg
I just took one for the first time about an hour ago. I was tired all day before that so we will see if it works like my doctor said it should. I wanted Adderall but all the ADHD kids messed that up for me. The tiredness from sleep apnea is one of its on label prescription uses. It's also pretty cheap now, I just got a month supply for $16 from Kaiser here in Los Angeles.
I have been taking it off and on for several years now. I take it if I have something complicated to figure out (I do software design engineering). It works super well for this kind of work. But if I mix it with alcohol I can turn into a raving lunatic. Ha ha. Stay away from alcohol when you take this stuff!

I have narcolepsy and it isn't doing anything except raise my blood pressure 30 points. Not sure how I can be treated for narcolepsy when my heart can't handle stimukants. Damned if I do, damned if I don't. It isn't even helping with the sleepiness.

One thing I've noticed with the substance is that 200 mg is just too much I'm pretty much good on 50mg or a quarter pill and some coffee

Yea same here I would break a 100 mg in two or 4 depending on what I had to do during the day. But a half of that with some coffee had me very productive. I think I’ll get some more soon. Was on it for a while then just stopped and kinda forgot about it.

This is me speaking from experience and I'm a dietitian not a doctor. But I have to know everything about the medication for my clients are taking because most of my clients are bodybuilders and fitness athletes that are using between wood and 50 different substances AKA peds AKA drugs within a month. I would not combine Wellbutrin with provigil. It's totally counter indicated because it'll increase heart rate and blood pressure big time. Both of them do. Combined they even make it worse. I know because I'm monitored mind when I did it and I was 32 at the time and I'm 46 now. In my mind provigil is a drug made for the Young was absolutely no hint of cardiovascular or kidney disease. Again I'm not a doctor but I have a lot of clients that are. Mainly because I study the stuff that they don't have time to. You want the best information you can ever get on this go to more plates more dates on UA-cam. The guy Derek there did a specific video on provigil and he is the best I've ever ran across that doesn't charge for his advice. The man is good and I don't say that about anyone because I'm arrogant and think I'm good but he's got me on pharmacology of the newer stuff. Anyway hope information helps and it probably wouldn't matter cuz provigil is very difficult to get prescribed and it's $30 a pill. And a lot of insurance just won't pay for it without a very good diagnosis or reason.

300mg is too much for the first time but you'll be OK. Use 100mg if you feel fired, 50mg if you just want a tired free day, and 200 if you really need to sit down and hammer out a paper or something on your PC or whatever. And drink Lots more than usual! Hope you feel OK today

2nd Dr i have a Severe Depression and Anxiety, i was described by my Dr with ZOLOFT™ 50mg 1 pill a day and XANAX™ 0.5mg 3 times a day, at the first 3 months (it was 2017) i felt like i was reborn in heaven however after that the Dr reduced the XANAX to 1 p a day and that was fine but at the 6th months she (my Dr) also reduced the same medication to 0.25mg a day and higherd up the ZOLOFT to 75mg and i was not doing well at all and i told her that then she stopped the XANAX and wanted to describe a 3 ringed antidepressants with ZOLOFT but i said no i told her i don't want to be depressed and hallucinate at the same time (my dad was a doctor too and i staid with him going to his office for 7 years i mean i grew up in his office and i learnd a lot "he was an INTER NIST, R.I.P DAD 😢" so i know a lot about meds and drugs, also before the depression started i was on DIAZEPAM 10mg half an hour before sleep also i felt great back then but my country Syria stopped making it and after 5 years the depression started) Anyways i said no "she was the best psychiatrist in Syria for real, she was German and no disrespect to the others but they were horrible" so i reduced the zoloft slowly and stopped, long story short i started taking GABAPENTIN 300mg 1 pill a day and i feel fine (i also have so many issues with my spine and spinal cord) so it stopped the back pain and psychologically i feel fine, i just wanna ask is that ok?

i think modafinil is great for those that suffers from narcolepsy bacause it is less likely to be abuse and does not the bad side effects of amphetamines

Health wise, its better for you than other drugs prescribed for adhd. Amphetamines can lead to addiction and a tolerance. Modafinil isn't addictive physically and is less than a stimulant then other adhd drugs like Adderall or Ritalin. Many people have success with it.
for me even a quarter tablet is enough, if not too much of it. Modafinil is pretty potent stuff. For me it's too heavy on the stimulant side where your thoughts are racing and you're wired af. it's also a bit crampy on the physical side where muscles are tightened up. I get more done while drinking Mate tea with L-theanine. It feels so much healthier to me. beside that I will try mindlab pro for longterm benefits.
@brasileiros Silva I've had good mostly good experience with it. Made me more focused, sharp, agressive and extroverted. Negative side effekt i personally have experienced, is that it has affected my sleep negatively and even worse it has destroyed my sperm quality xD And that last side effect was not listed anywhere. I took 100mg definitely made me feel extremely clear minded and I literally did like 8 hours straight of programming, but then once it wore off I literally got sick. It's the day after now and I'm still sick. I was starting to get a very slight itchy rash on my chest but that cleared up overnight. Did the modafinil make me sick? Maybe it was the amount of programming I did was somehow hard on me? Maybe they're unrelated? I guess I'll wait until I'm back to 100% and try going to 50mg

I have been taking it off and on for several years now. I take it if I have something complicated to figure out (I do software design engineering). It works super well for this kind of work. It is mostly excreted in the urine, so staying properly hydrated throughout the day could help.
