Jay Corwin it did not work. Rotted. The technique works. I think my cutting needed to be more semi hardwood. It was too soft and young. Thanks for watching!
@@GardenRudiments You're welcome. I had a clematis once. It produced one flower. That was at my second garden, second house. I'm now on my third garden in another house in a different climate (zone 10) in a coastal desert area. Everything I've discovered here in the last few months is new: native plants grow like weeds here, for example.
Karen Alvarado it lived for a couple of months and bit the dust. I need to try it again with a more robust specimen. The method works, I’ll try it again if I can get another cutting from my mother. May and June is a good time.
@@GardenRudiments I just bought a clematis root a month ago haven't seen any growth... I'm hoping by the end of spring. Unless it is dead it was pretty dry. Looking at other videos on UA-cam I see people using honey as a rooting hormone to help them root faster. Going to try that next time.
Now that is great advice. I didn't know that would work. I would just stick it in the soil any old way, even upside down and wait. 😂 Thanks, Kerry. I'm actually going to try this one day soon.
The High Desert Garden just use sand or any mix. They don’t need nutrients since they don’t have roots yet to take up those nutrients. Once they have roots, transplant into a potting mix and they’ll put on new growth..

As long as the root is pretty firm it’s probably still alive. Just give it time. Thanks for watching!

Once the water restrictions are lifted, many things will have to be propagated again.
Thanks for sharing. I'm going to try it, though I don't have crushed granite

Can't see why you thought that music background would help...it's annoying and distracting.
WILTED CUTTINGS A NONO
Thank you. We have a few clematis on the porch so the deer don't enjoy them.
Dr. Sten Ekberg I have to figure out where to put this one. Probably on the edge of my porch and let it climb up a downspout.
lol
I'm asleep
Fred Bloggs thanks for watching and commenting even though it put you to sleep

Or at least make a video with a good proper cutting.
