Invaders Must Chai - Best Level in Video game History

- One of the best Level's I've played in years!
You can't help but get S Ranks with this song playing!
Song : The Prodigy - Invaders Must Die
Reuploaded with better bitrate.
The fact they made a literal cook variation of the Samurai bot just for a brief encounter entirely for humour purposes shows how much passion went into this.
With his completely unique sound effects too, nonetheless.
I laughed so hard when that Cook Samurai came out from behind the kitchen haha
Nigh-The Wonderful 101 levels of passion, true.
It's From software's level of care
Fun fact: in the files, its a completely different model.
And of course the reason Chai had such a hard fight here is because Kale ordered the cafe to be re-opened because he wanted a coffee.
Your'e right! Nice detail, completely missed it
Gets even better when one of the robot NPCs said as payback for all the stressful work he would make the coffee machine only dispense Decaf which Kale doesn't like.
@@windknightavenger996 I read the same log too, having read that makes all the coffee scenes that much funier
You'd think a cafe would look more like a cafe, not a cafeteria. they seem to be consuming everything BUT coffee.
Oh my god I literally never realised that until you said it! Of course that's why they're all there!
The game director wasnt kidding about the Scott Pilgrim influences
All of Edgar Wright's output was an influence, going back as far as the Queen scene in Shaun of the Dead.
Who is the game director?
Unlike Chai, Scott can actually play... The bass.
Wait OMG I didn't even think about Scott Pilgrim & its crazy how much it fits!
This reminds me of miles and Peter scene from spider verse
I love how there is literally no explanation for Chai's durability. He has a robot arm and an iPod in his chest, but the rest of his body is apparently made out of solid steel. Shoot him out of a cannon? He's fine. Face-first through glass? Not a scratch. Slammed through walls by a mecha-werewolf? Barely winded.
Comic book looking world, no need to dwell too hard on it
Lmao its a cartoon/anime style ofc nobody gets hurt from falling 500 feet or getting their face pummeled in a few times, its always gonna take more than that lol but i get ur point
To be fair every time Chai gets hit there is a flash of Blue field.
And he breaks Harmonic Red Force Field by projecting Blue one into it.
The point is - I feel like Chai without understanding it also constantly projected his own blue flavor of Harmonic Force Field hence his crazy durability to fullbody damage and not only his prostetic arm.
Slam his little toe on something tho? Feel the same pain as a regular dude

SCR-UB: *KAR-MA*
Is it just me, or is Chai making that Bigfoot pose at the beginning when he was on the TV news?
Never notice that lol
LOL
lmao
My mind was blown when this song played in this level. OMG i used to listen to this song so much back in the day.
Man, I would have fucking loved to have this as a Saturday morning cartoon as a kid.
This already looks like a Man Of Action Studios or Nerd Corps Entertainment cartoon. The art style carries similar comic book style influences.
Chai must be one of the coolest guy out there
Isn't as crazy like Dante
Isn't as meaning like Travis Touchdown
Isn't as edgy like Cloud or Powerful as bayonneta
He is a scott pilgrim character, and i love it!
Are we talking movie Scott or comic Scott?
(cause depending on the answer I'll take offense to that)
@@SonnyFRST Scott Comic
@Sonny FIRESTORM comic scott is legendary, movie scott is cringe
@@panuru9175 Aight, you valid. Proceed.
@@SonnyFRST ok but, i want to say that i love so much the comic, but the movie isn't that bad, scott personality is nerfed in a way that only the supperficial side of him remains while the other (that is the good stuff) part go fuck off in the rest of the movie
Ramona Arc is way too nutshell
Kim pines is a good character, but in the movie i feel like a side cool character instead of something i can relate too
The Slice of life parts are cut off for the sake of the lenght
Knieves is way more Superficial, in the comic she knows that scott is lying and the kiss they make for almost the end of the volume is just soo bad but good for the plot
In general, i feel like the movie lacks a lot of the ideas that were developed and helps Scott pilgrim that instead of becoming a dumb plot for two people with love
For becoming a story about the mundanity and perseverance of two lovers that can't coexist without having to really understand each one,
Im saying this because the comic is Superb while the movie is dumb fun
But i feel offense of what you say because i like the movie, and without liking i would never get interested to read the comic
Ok i feel pointless trying to explain to you because we are on the same field, and i like that but i wanted to say the truth aniways
Have a good day and im happy to see a Scott pilgrim fan!
It’s the sasquatch pose that really makes this sequence
The most rewatched part is the one with Korsica in it
I love democracy
Can't blame them tho
She's fire
The freaking Bigfoot pose always gets me
Fr 💀💀💀
If you don't get S Rank after playing this level
Then something must be wrong
jamming out too hard to focus
But didn't he get an A as the overall ranking?
@@CharlesC520 which is why he's doing something wrong
But the point of the game is to have fun. He might get S rank again someday
This is a good spot to get a 100 hits combo, I got one in the first playthrough without noticing it.
I would disagree. Since the time it takes is one of the factors, getting an S rank for time taken shows you did not enjoy the song enough
The way the song changes from calm section to >FIGHT< section literally made me wanna scream on my first playthrough. Same when Korsica overheats the generator later on.
Also the way Peppermint smirks after shooting the robodog
Also Chef Samurai
Also how every ultimate feels like a perfect addition to the song
God, such an amazing level
Love how attacks add guitar hits to the soundtrack!
The chords the guitar makes when hitting something also change to match the current soundtrack's current note, it's phenomenal
Trust me, There isn’t enough time in the day gush about how much love went into this game.
Hi-Fi Rush was suprsingly challenging for me until the last third or so(on Normal difficulty; most likely a skill issue). But this section was so great that it singlehandedly made me a better player as a result.
there's a moment where all the different mechanics click together and you get in the zone and this fight is that moment
This level put such a huge smile on my face. I just beat it yesterday and got so hyped when I heard Invaders must Die come on.
This is easily the most hype moment in the entire game. You've been listening to perfectly serviceable if mid game-specific tracks (as well as a few songs that I'm sure someone cares about, but I've never heard), then this banger fucking busts onto the scene out of nowhere and the fight absolutely kicks ass, and it only gets better from here. This game has no business rocking as hard as it does.
Finished it and its absolutely fantastic..
Great humor, gameplay and soundtrack.
A new fresh original game that does something actually new made by a triple A studio???
Gues miracles do still exist.
Here's hoping they continue with this kind of innovation.
Not only that, it's a FINISHED Bethesda game. This game defys all logic, and is absolutely incredible for it
@@kishinslayer2228 Actually Bethesda didn’t make the game, they simply published it. You can’t give them any credit for that.
@@inter9104 barely any of their PUBLISHED games are finished products
And it's from a fucking Microsoft studio. Holy shit.
@@inter9104 keep in mind this game was published with little to no advertising, I didn't know a miracle can exists, but here we are
Ever since I saw the Scott Pilgrim trailer using this song, id imagine epic fights to the rhythm and beat of this song, and now this! It's come full circle....
I personally love the victory lap level before the final boss
3:40 IS THIS GENJI'S VA?!
Em. For me is the voice of a robot samurai/ninja whit a japanese acent xD. So is similar i guess
I don't know why, but that cookbot is my favorite miniboss. Yeah, he is basic samurai bot enemy, just with new skin, but something about his entrance and look just make me go "FUCK YES!"
This game was a 9 for me until this level popped the fuck off with Invaders Must Die and shot up to a 10. Had a smile on my face the entire time and S ranked the fuck outta it.
The big blue bot sipping is such a mood
The title speaks the truth
NO ONE MESSES WITH VANDELAY CUISINE
This scene instantly stood at the top of my list of "awesome battles in video games" after the Ashtray Maze from Control and Old Gods of Asgard stage from Alan Wake.
2:13 Probably the best beat drop in history
Korsica: “ready?”
Chai: “huh?”
Korsica, I’m head: “ *must not throw him must not throw him mu-* fuck it!”
Hehe
I was vibin' so hard with the prodigy I got S rank easy on this level.
The music is a banger!
Good game, going for all rythm master S
Update: game 100% done 🙂
@@MightyReeN nice!!
My first playthrough was on very hard difficulty. And this was first place where I beat every arena only with 1 hit from enemy. This song just makes you more skilled
"All I wanna do is kickass and chew Bubble gum and I'm all out of gum"
Duke Nukem.
This might be the only song I enjoyed over the original throughout the entire campaign, but even then the original used in its place is also really good.
Anyone else really like the chef in the background at the beginning just pumping his arms along to the beat? 😂😂
This game feels like a cartoon from the late 2000s
I immediately thought of Generator Rex... and even Megas XLR even though that's early 2000s.
Love it!
@@XOXOcel Rex and Chai would be best buds immediately
2:17 The timing tho
This video title. It's both hilarious, and really accurate at once. Well played!
Can't wait for all the status memes that will come out of this
Me looking at Invaders must Chai (IMC): hmmm.
Me looking back at Dante must Die(DMD): HMMMMMMMMM…nice
0:15 LOL the face
I remember listening to this song the first time, it was from watching B boy videos when I was practicing. It's crazy when you do epic shit. Also I like how the robots are eating.
A song like this just demands that you do everything perfectly.
This level just straight up gasses me dude I love the adrenaline rush I feel when playing this level
I cant tell you how hard this game was with a keyboard. But I did it. This games amazing.
Love this song to death but the overheat generator version of the song slaps so hard yo
You know it occurs to me that the robots are very blatantly eating people food like pizza and burgers instead of some reskinned food with gears and motor oil or some shit
My favorite Move in this game is the Dash + Heavy attack, you bring your enemies in the air alot faster, and 90% of the enemies cant do anything about it.
And to just break their guard i just spam my Allies in the field while i do some chip damage, the harder difficulty’s is way too punishing to get hit, but surprisingly the game is very Easy, the only boss/Enemy that made things hard where the “Bird and especially Roquefort” he’s way too big and he moves erratically for he’s size that I can’t understand it.
Its perfect because the game is the definition of "easy to play hard to master"
Virtually all the bosses ranged from easy to punish to providing a fair challenge
I died 25 times with Kale... every one of his hits takes like a quarter off health on hard.
Love the Sasquatch pose at the beginning.
It is criminal that we will never get a sequel to this game.
Screw Microsoft!
Good news brother 😎
Me: Throws the fish back into the water
Everyone else in the cafeteria: 0:12
The big foot reference at 0:22 😂😂😂
Why do robots need to eat?
Biofuel
@@areon3013 Would batteries make more sense?
@@southy98 well yes,but it's for comedic effect.better for them to have the food with them on the go and process it into fuel instead of just going on a charging port every few hours. But it would take a whoooole lotta energy to power millions of these bots if it weren't for their biofuel converters.
Besides, it's also the newer gen. The previous gens probably were battery powered.
@@areon3013 Hi-Fi Rush is charming enough to get away with bullshit like that, and make it work.
Korsica is built diff 😪 i heckin love her
Fr
The fact that they have robots eating lunch, cafeteria, with burgers, leads me to believe they were initially going to have Human Enemies, but switched to robots because this scene would come up eventually and it would be funnier with robots
I love how they add context to all the robots there by saying in the scene before this level to open back up the Cafe.
No better pick for a grand fight scene than The Prodigy
I dunno, the Battle of the Bering Strait in Project Wingman had me feeling all sorts of things
The Prodigy is perfect for this one.
Played this part last night. It was so much fucking fun
I loved this part because the song has to be one of my top 3 favourites and the cook version of the samurai robot was a funny concept
What I got from this entire stage is that robots can eat.
I got a bunch of "S" in the most hard difficulty
Robots eating human food, the future we all deserve 😂
Chai in the Bigfoot pose gives me life.
🤣@ 1:27, when Kale says, "Roquefort! Clean up this mess!". So the mess that results from the battle is more important to Kale than the battle itself. I love the little touches of humor in this game like that. 🤣
Edit: I also love how the non-combatant robots are just cheering on the battle, not caring who wins. 🤣
Cant agree more with you.. this is the coolest level. I loved this freakin dope song ever since i was a middle schooler
0:20 favorite part is the Bigfoot pose
I did this like 30 minutes ago and the instant I saw “Prodigy” I popped the fuck off
Must have been my easiest S Rank and yeah, it was all thanks to the Prodigy!
The song reminds me "back to China" from Metal Slug good vibes
Am I the only one who spams the companions button during my combos? No enemy barrier can resist that, and is such a fun chaos
Oh neato. Just realised my headphones have a delay b/c I was tapping my foot out of sync with the game
Thumbnail making Korsica look like Chairith
It's literally just a wave assault in a game with DMC-like combat but rhythm beats to compensate for the lack of complexity. Ofc its gud, lol
That song was also in WipEout 2048.
this game is so good
This artstyle reminds me of that netflix series Dragon Prince.
I smell the Critical fail when I see this scene
when you instantly remember Crysis 2 Multiplayer trailer
Ok can we talk about the robots eating human food...
*chai literally destroying almost all the robots*
*4 big robots appears (not soooooooooo hard)*
Chai: NOPE!!
the beginning feels like spider man into the spider verse office scene
I agree, also including korsica fight
Henry stick man reference?
Yknow they could make a great Scott pilgrim game
Hot take: You only call this the “best level in video game history” because of nostalgia for The Prodigy. I’d argue that the level before the Kale boss fight has a lot more going for it.
Clockwork Mansion
Why must invaders tea?
HE TOOK A BAGEL!!!
Does anyone have any idea what the kanji says when Samurai bot starts his final attack?
Um…I think I know who's come to smash bros next
best level
the ost in this level ACTUALLY fucking flew through my blood stream
what were they eating?
Anyone know If this game is coming to the switch
no and I don't think it happen, it's from tango that is owned by xbox
Banger 🚨alert
3:18 NOPE
