It's a shame our military, especially the RNZAF and RNZN are so underequipped. Our Army is top tier in skill and training, but just lack funding, which I think in turn results in lack of intrigue from people so recruitment numbers are so low.
New Zealand needs a Ranger course like the US 75th Ranger regiment members have to go through to qualify for the regiment. Our soldiers could get Ranger qualified then go back to their battalions so the battalions don't get diluted of talent but they would have to periodically do fitness tests and parachute jumps to retain their Ranger tab. It would create another level in the New Zealand army between the infantry battalions and the SAS. The Ranger qualified soldiers could deploy in support of the NZSAS and could gain experience in special operations better preparing the soldiers if they decide to try out for the NZSAS. There would be the potential to get a higher pass rate for SAS selection without lowering standards. It would also create an exciting challenge for people wanting to join the NZ army
My first cousin was a sapper in 2 Engineer Regiment... He passed the NZSAS selection course and we watched him go through his badging then get his beret which was a very proud moment for him and us. 😊
@@goofyproductions2672 the frigates just got an upgrade do they should be good for 10 years. Hopefully we do buy replacements where an island nation we need them. Andrew little said we won't be getting fighter aircraft but they want drones. We should be buying LRASM to go with the P8 Posidens to give us a long range anti ship capability

Thanks for protecting Aotearoa
My pop was an engineer in the Second World War,2nd echelon.
Engineers would make excellent sas soilders. They already have a broader skill set.
Not these engineers mate 😂

Exactly what I thought mate.
Ubique.💪💪
All very nice but we have no tanks and no attack aircraft.
Can't wait for the next government. Fighter jets, drones, new frigates all the good stuff.
New Zealand isn't getting fighter jets
@@Stephen-bq4nq or frigates
