- A quick breakdown & review from Dakota Russell on the NEW for 2023, B-14 Squared Crest.
Designed for the highest standard of mountain hunting adventures, the new B-14 squared concept is anchored by a monocoque stock. Created 100% in carbon Fiber, this stock has an internal spine that provides greater rigidity and strength, making it nearly indestructible.
Featuring this new stock, our B-14 action, and our well-known barrels, we've blended all the advantages of the B-14 model series into something unique, which we have called B-14 squared.

Here’s my review of the b14 if anyone is interested…
After hearing for a long time how great Bergara rifles were I bought a B14 Timber. Overall fit/finish rivals rifles I’ve purchased for more than $3000. Cartridge feeding is beyond excellent, and personally I prefer Bergaras trigger over the triggertech. The rifle stock design when combined with their radial muzzle break tamed the recoil to less than my 270win. The rifle has also shot the most consistent groupings. If shooting just 3 shot groups, I’ve yet to have shots starting to have flyers/walking shots. You can shoot my rifle 1 moa easy. One load of factory ammo it didn’t like, and one it did. Both loads were of a different bullet grain weight. So really it was just finding a bullet weight it liked most.
Here’s where the rifle really shined. Took my B14 backpacking for mule deer. Managed to fall into a hole. Practically cracked the rifle stock in half, and the rifle landed appx 6ft away from me. The rifle did not fire. It had been on safe prior to the fall. It also didn’t fire when I took it off safe to unload it.
Once I got to inspect the rifle it looks like the only damage was to the wood stock, and McMillan offers stocks for the B14. I like the rifle enough, I’m going to order a new stock for it.
You can’t go wrong with a B14, and I’ll always recommend them.
Thank you for the kind words!
Could I put a internal box mag flush floor plate on one of these...???
Yes, the rifle comes with a M5 Bottom Metal cutout.
Are you going to make this rifle with carbon barrels?
I emailed Bergara asking when they would come out with a HMR PRO with a 24" barrel, 1-8 twist, chambered in the 7mm PRC. That config should be a tack driver. Waiting for their response.
That’s where I’m at now. Want a 7mm prc so bad. But not sure about 22” barrel. Can get a 24” in the wilderness but it’s a lot heavier than the crest. Not sure what I’m going to do. I have seen people shooting out to 1200 yards accurately with the 22”. So I may go that route
Can you ad another screw towards the magwell like tikka does so you can add a full length arca rail.
Go to Area 419 , they have an option
Max from Bergara Austria here. Awesome video guys!
Please make this in 7prc with a 24" barrel.
Please flute more of your barrels
I love the looks of the rifle. I see in some videos you show the gun has a shorter magazine. Do you still have that option? I do not like a magazine that protrudes way out of the bottom of my bolt gun for hunting! Does this gun have the option for a hinged floor plate as well? Does it come in 7 PRC?
The Crest does come in 7 PRC. The stock has an M5 bottom metal cutout for conversion to floor plate. Any AI magazine will work for the Crest as well, for shorter 3-round magazine options.
That is awesome. It sounds like that may be my next rifle. We shall see. Thank you for the information,@@BergaraOfficial

I have (3) of these in various calibers. Fit and finish as well as feeding are superb. This rifle has a lot going for it and if you watch a few videos you will see why. Here are my negatives so far. 7 PRC the magazine is enormous holding 5 rounds. It’s loose and noisy. They need a fix for this. The 6.5 PRC has a metal mag that seems more secure but the biggest problem with the 6.5 PRC is that it will not eject live rounds. That is a major issue for me that Bergara needs to address. If that need beefier springs are dual springs whatever the issue is figure it out.
What’s the deal with the chambering options lately? Most of the new stuff has only four options. Just doesn’t seem like that’s gonna cut it in 2023. Also, don’t love the price point on this thing. $2000 feels high for the B-14 action and a steel barrel. The HMR and Ridge with carbon barrels would be good but they need shorter barrels and more chambering options. That’s why I bought a Firece Rogue
Should have gone with Bergara devide
@@LifeisGood-ye8rl thought about it. Just didn’t want a 24” 300 WM. I went with a 22” 7 PRC
Thats a bloody cheap long range hunting rifle. It would be perfectly fine for high risk top dollar hunts like for Marco Polo etc...
@@masone4589 Shoulda just got a 30-06... 22inch on a 300 WM is kinda stupid as its a long range cartridge!
@@MrDan1509 22” 7 PRC is a monster long range. 700 yards isn’t even a challenge
