With those round 8 inch basins, guys will put risers on them 2 feet tall just to get the inlet grate flush with the grade. But that’s only for looks I feel.
We all make mistakes when starting out because we don’t know what we don’t know. But I’m obsessed with drainage and I love the science of how water moves and the challenges you get to overcome.

Wonderful company. Called to ask questions, Erin who answered the phone was gracious and took the time to help me. God Bless them. What service. If I lived nearer to them, I'd be using their services.

you can install a collar extension on any one of them, (circular or square shape) and go to the deep you wish. Is expensive though.
Also, don't forget that when the water comes to certain speed inside a pipe generates an inertia that help to push the water out the pipe, but will the pipe be completely empty of water after? Probably no
Regarding the leaves from down spouts, the amount down the gutter will depend in the trees branches proximity to the roofs, wind and of course, type of tree's leaves. Does gutters grids and filters work to keep leaves out?

I have a question, do you need to burrito wrap the top of the round rock french drain? I would not be planning to put grass on top.

You can run it wide open on top if you want to I do that when I can however if your catching sheet water off a roof or parking lot it will get loaded up with sediment. We sell 3ft x 100ft drainage fabric for open French drain with no fabric on top.

NDS basin with risers and set it below the bottom of the trench are great. You should come over my house. I have bought and installed your virgin pipes and they are the best. NDS basins are very good products too. High octane is great stuff but pricey in my area. I used several hundred feet of it. I did not use peanut pipe, but I think it does have its place too. Not in my yard. I have all river stone and geo fabric, high quality, not the home depot stuff. NDS basins are the best on the market quality wise in my opinion, I have 17 of them in my yard. I would say your pipes and NDS basins are the best combination. I am in FL and it keeps up with mother nature. I do not run my French drains into basins except to discharge to the culvert Basins. My culvert runs straight through my property. Basins with a bit of water in the bottom also provide nice locations for frogs and other wildlife. I have seen you use open grates in your system as overflows. Black pipe has nothing wrong with it if it is solid. Black pipe in a french drain can provide excellent aeration when stacked above high octane. High octane at the bottom is ideal. I have never seen an interest by any critters eating any of my black pipes, yes, I have some, but very little perforated, none perforated in sight. I ran a bit short and had to get this job done. My french drain system runs from my 8" culvert into the 36" city culvert 24/7, it never stops. Thanks for all your advice. You need to get lower pricing on shipping, down here to FL cost me a small fortune. Also, Chuck is a nice guy and does good work. We should not take for granted we as people are all not the same and there is more than one way to skin a cat. Thanks Robert for your educational videos.
