Sure, Microsoft can license out the Xbox OS. However, it doesn't mean that it will be adopted. Essentially, Steam OS might very well steam roll the competition to become the OS of choice. So Microsoft will have to do something that makes Xbox OS the best choice for manufacturers, because just like Xbox, everything will also be a Steam Deck.
Possible, but not probable. Microsoft has the Windows background with a very well established support system. SteamOS is basically a streamlined Linux, which is nowhere near as popular as Windows just yet. Once the support system for SteamOS becomes comparable to Windows or at least something that can be serviced, then the probability of what you suggest happening goes up significantly.
I know so many people that game on console and would love access to steam games but the thought of buying a pc for some reason puts them off. Maybe it's the price or not understanding all the specs I'm not sure. I'm certain though that if they got access to all these other store fronts then they would 100% buy into that

I hope they open up the OS to all PC's I'm pretty much using my PC as a console now anyways.
Sony will absolutely 100% adopt a similar strategy in the next year or so because they do not make nearly enough money from console sales and console sales will decline year after year when you can play games on any device. Remember when sony said they would never put games on PC? then it went to they would never put their biggest games on PC to they would never put their games day one on PC to they would never put their games on nintendo or xbox to, where we are currently, they would never offer their games on any device via a subscription model. Sony always follows microsoft and when they do they are immediately forgiven for doing what everyone hated Microsoft for doing.
If this happens and sony follows just imagine a manufacturer decides to give xbox os and playstation os together in a duel boot option for everyone! Definitely a win for the consumers ❤
The promise of the original Xbox when it released was that it was a console that was more like a PC. Xbox had connections with developers who developed for PC so they were able to get some awesome games. The Xbox and the Xbox 360 have a fantastic Library of exclusive games because they were close to being a PC. This is a great strategy and I will definitely buy what they're selling if it's what I hope they make.
The original plan was mostly in spirit to combat the *"Sony Computer Entertainment System,"* since "Xbox" was still tied to a single console. A bird's eye view shows Xbox is still miniscule compared to what made Microsoft the behemoth it is today. So I doubt Microsoft would want to "open" their console to further liabilities like allowing console gamers install 3rd-party software that will bring in more mods, instability, security issues that will just overwhelmed (or overshadow) RROD that the Xbox 360 had. One of the MAJOR benefits of a console is playing games with stability, simplicity, and ease of use. To abandon that for Windows-like Xbox OS sounds far-fetch, IMO... if anything, they'll release an improved and an improved Xbox app to align with the console similar to Steam's *"Big Picture Mode."* Also with an improved Windows OS efficiency for mobile gaming. (Too many rumors and opinions that I see about Xbox opening up for PC 3rd-party apps)😅
A game machine easy to use as a console with the power of a computer, playing almost every available game there is, its a dream come true that i have already for 50 years of gaming right now. Btw. Happy holly day's and greatings from Belgium to every one out there in the world. Power to the gamers 😁🥳
The only problem I see with this strategy is devs are used to targeting a specific spec on console and console users aren't used to changing graphics options to get what they want in visuals and performance. I would think that the Xbox OS should have two modes, just like dual booting on a PC. Where the default is a typical console spec and will run Xbox only games. Then you can reboot into the Xbox OS aka windows 11 in a controller UI, where you can use the PC Xbox app, Steam app, and Epic apps. It has to be separate for casual consumers to be on board.
i mean to be fair these graphic presets are essentially doing the same as chossing between performance or fidelity mode. Tweaking on PC is an option and not necessary and with some games it's even easier than on a console because games can auto-detect your hardware and will choose settings for you if you want so there is not even any need to choose between performance or fidelity modes in many games.
@Zy.Blurish Auto-detect in most PC games I've played doesn't work well at all. Usually choosing lower settings than your PC can handle. I know it seems like an easy thing for us gamers who are really into the hobby, watching videos on it etc. But think of a kid playing or an average consumer, they don't want to have to mess with settings or troubleshoot performance issues. That's why dev targets are good for set specs. Steam OS tries to help with a deck default setting, but many times console settings are optimized well beyond a low/medium/high. They sometimes fall in between at a sweet spot for the hardware.
Honestly, being able to play Steam games on my console would be the only thing that can make me keep me buying xbox. If that doesnt happen, i'm going to PC or Playstation.
@@fvjtfjnx6535 i'm aware of that but i like playing new games. If every Mocrosoft games will be on Playstation and PC from now on, there's no point in getting an xbox.
@@Ballistic-vn6em But if you go PS you have to buy every Xbox game at full price there's no gamepass. And Playstation games really suck this gen for PS5. I regret purchasing mine. No value, poor sequels across the board.
@fvjtfjnx6535 I'll still have my xbox, i'll be able to play my old games (at least the ones I purchased, not the ones on gamepass). I'm just not going with microsoft going forward if they put e everything on PS.
This strategy for Xbox has me excited for next gen Xbox, so far I'm not hyped for ps6, idk what Sony could do that's unique, VR isnt doing it and in this age psp3 does t interest me I have enough handhelds I don't think I'll be buying an Xbox handheld either
Have 2 SKU's, one that only plays Xbox games with console spec similar to PS6 will have, for $500. Then have a SKU that can dual boot into Xbox console mode that plays Xbox games or Windows (Xbox GUI) that can play PC games, Xbox app, Steam Epic etc. for like $1K. Officially licensed it out to other companies to make interations throughout a gen.
I still feel making directX portable is the real move. Like proton tries to translate directX into vulkan etc. So things work on linux. Microsoft could make directX portable directly and make it work on any architecture. Make directX work on Apples Metal API, make it work on snapdragon elite chips and android etc. Make game pass work as natively as possible on these main architectures through an xbox app. If they can make backwards compatibility work on series X they can make it work on any architecture. I really don't find cloud gaming that appealing and don't think core gamers do either. This would be the real move to make anything an xbox. They need to beat valve in this, to have the stuff work on arm etc. before valve does. This would also make windows on arm more enticing, which should be a part of microsofts bigger strategy.
This Xbox strategy allows Xbox to spread their gaming app on all devices.. If people actually use it then Xbox is going to make bank knowing their games are everywhere through game pass. If Sony falls behind on this by the sales numbers, then Sony will do exactly the same thing to catch up.. Catching up to port all of its games to PC is one thing, catching up to Game Pass is a second thing, but creating a mass eco system on all devices and make them compatible throughout all devices is a huge undertaking.. Unfortunately people still think in the traditional console wars bpx and exclusivity, perhaps you´ll understand this gaming migration once Xbox finally execute this multiplatform strategy.. I really like the idea of a gaming PC with all the working apps in one place without hampering on my PC performance and play my games that way so i don´t have to worry about irrelevant dedicated consoles.
@SWOTHDRA you seem to be the one coping son. You must realize Sony is DOOMED if Microsoft does this. Otherwise, you wouldn't be replying to comments with the same shit.🤣😂🤣😂🤣
i noticed awhile back that the version of resident 3 i been playing on xbox series s is actually the pc digital version yup it even says playable on pc xbox series i think they may be adding pc versions of game playable with xbox series range of consoles & beyond because thats where they going maybe make alot of pc exclusive games be playable under xbox series because my re3 remake says pc version re3 for windows yup so be expecting pc games be ready to eventually drop on xbox series consoles in near future
Funny how I've been talking about 'Xbox PC' and literally everything in this video for multiple years now, and media is just catching on as of the past couple of weeks. One stipulation for licensing the Xbox OS to third party manufacturers will be that they have to label the device as being an Xbox, which only makes sense. If you go out and build a ROG Strix based PC and install Windows, it's a Windows system regardless of what brand or spec of hardware you are using. All of this is a very good idea for MS and the Xbox platform. Good times ahead.
How would it theoretically work if you could a pc game on the next Xbox, but it didn’t have controller support? I’m thinking games with a lot of commands, like Arma, for example (not sure if it has controller support nowadays).
It's definitely the wise move for the 3rd in Hardware platform to do (yet 2nd place in the metrics that matter, almost first actually)! You get a reference model that's affordable with the handheld and a more powerful set top box. Then people can if they want, buy into Lenovo, ASUS, and others. This could really invigorate PC in a fun way, while letting you play your Xbox Library + Steam, Epic, etc. Very excited for this and hey, the idea of being able to manage your own mid gen refresh by spending more, is genius. Though I'm hoping to only carry two, maybe three handhelds: Xbox, Switch 2 and if PlayStation is sincere, the Vita successor (Near and dear to me, fav handheld still). So glad Freedom Wars is getting a PC release, I made the decision to migrate as much of my PS Vita library to PC via Steam as I could!
Well if Xbox did an affordable custom gaming PC with full support that a pc has then I guess a lot of people will get invested in pc gaming and it can be an entry level PC experience something like the steam deck I suppose would kill it but instead of handheld a cheap pre built Xbox pc type a thing.
Xbox OS makes perfect sense to me. MS know they'll never be able to compete with Sony on hardware sales (and does it really matter since selling units doesn't make much profit) and they have decades worth of experience in delivering a very successful OS (whether you love it or hate it you can't deny it's successful), so why not release an Xbox PC. Plus, you get to play Xbox, Steam (and maybe even Playstation) games all in one console like experience.
@SWOTHDRA You have to be trolling. Windows is definitely successful. You don't become the default by being a failure. You contradicted yourself in your own statement
Such a "PC-Xbox" could make us all PC players, but it should be modular, with new pieces on sale every 2-3 years. Plus, I still think Xbox should care about taking AAA exclusives on their ecosystem. That's what many fans want, to stay the next generation
Asus has a phone that is designed for gaming. Those are the kind of products which would be perfect for a Xbox OS. Essentially, Microsoft want to bring new customers to Xbox, instead of fighting with Sony over the same audience. That isn't growing the market. That doesn't mean they will give up on their own hardware. Why do Valve produce the Steam Deck? It only sells a few million units. By the same logic, Valve shouldn't bother because Switch is the dominant handheld. Valve do it for brand recognition and to provide an option for Steam users. Steam OS, just like Xbox OS; being accessible on more products is an opportunity for growth. The younger demographic don't consume games like I did as a kid. Consoles were the main option. The PC market is also growing. It's clear that Xbox wants to expand its reach. I think Xbox consoles which are more of an open platform is a great idea.
What Xbox doing such a move would allow is for consumers to not pay Microsoft the 30% cut that they get from the Xbox Store. Even if they ended up selling more consoles and as a result got more Game pass subscribers, that is unlikely to make up for that lost revenue. Nor is the Xbox OS licensing fee. That is why i don't see them going down that hybrid route.
@@Checkplease700 Same! I want a disc drive or at the very least a drive that we can purchase separately. The only time I buy digital games are when they're on a really good sale that I just can't pass up and-or when it's a game that I already own that adds another game or 2 like Mass Effect. I owned ME2 but got 1-3 on a great digital sale
I don't think it will have an optical drive, even this generation getting physical games for a Series X isn't always an option and when you can, more often than not it's just a licence to boot up the game. If it doesn't have a optical drive, this will be my last Xbox console. It's far easier to get physical games on the PS5.
It's looking like there's a Collab coming between Lenovo Steam and Xbox at the upcoming show so it might be sooner than we think. I use my steam deck in a similar way so this would be a great handheld combination for most users in my honest opinion. Hopefully there will be a version of gamepass for the deck as a result. I bought Helldivers 2 on my PS5 to play with friends on PC because I didn't want to link my steam to PSN if Sony pushed it. When Sony brought the PSN linking to it, my friends all quit. Understandably so. After that the interest vanished. It was the only reason I was paying for PS+ for the crossplay so I deleted it off my PS5 it was a waste of money. I cancelled PS+ and I won't be revisiting Helldivers 2 because it's tied to PS+ and I have Gamepass. PS+ just doesn't compete.
I think im just going to get another series x at the end of this gen just so i have an extra one if i need it then thats it for me and xbox i love xbox i have the original 360 one and series x but i just see no point in buying a next gen xbox system when im already getting the next gen sony and nintendo systems makes no sense why i would waste more money on xbox when xbox themselves have given up on us.
The main issue with this new xbox strategy is that most likely their consoles won't have such a long time span, as it will open tge doors to 3rd party manufactures that will push the hardware. I don't really like the idea of having to upgrade a console every few years.
@SWOTHDRAwhich sold more than PlayStation; we're just unsure about sales next to Switch but Switch is more common in Japan where most sales DQ sales are. But man you're one _angry_ Pony in the wild tho 😂 Go fight the Ghost of Xbox Future or you'll get completely trampled by Big *Horse* Energy PC. Trot off now 😂
I agree. I've actually been saying they should do this for several years now. It would be even cooler if they released the OS for consumers who want to build their own system too, or dual boot with whatever OS they are currently running. This strategy frees them up from having to mass produce millions of consoles and lets third-party manufacturers do it for them. Saves them money and they make money on licensing fees as well.
@@natejoe9924 well I don't know about you, but I play a lot on PC as well. I've also been in IT for the last 20 years. I just always thought it would be cool to roll your own console. I have been debating for some time whether to run Steam OS like that on my PC, but I almost feel like building another just to do that.
They need to make the hardware strong this time with a beefy cpu gpu npu and game boosting chip the latest Bluetooth WiFi and everything…. Turn Xbox into a co pilot machine too like Alexa…. Before China puts a chip in a box and does it for free
I am very scepticle that this xboy strategy will work. If I buy a console I want my console to work for 5-8 years and not need to upgrade like on the pc every 2-3 years. I also want games to be optimised for the console specs I am buying and not to have to fiddle around with graphic settings to get an optimal experience. Otherwise why not directly buy an pc (esecially if all games will be available on pc also?). We don`t see the pro versions of current consoles being adapted by the mass market, sure hardcore gamers do buy them but the majority sticks to the "budget" options.
Lol can you imagine if Xbox did integrate steam into their console then you can have PlayStations first party titles on Xbox that way. I bet this will drive Sony crazy and probably make them think twice about putting their games on PC lol
Personally, I think the only way for next-gen consoles to actually make sense, would be if they became handheld. Otherwise, the PS5 Pro proved that regular consoles are becoming more and more irrelevant! PS5 Pro got console gamers a lot closer to PC gamers. In the sense that they became way more involved in the process of game optimization and frame-gen and ray tracing, and fps count....etc. Things that console players never had to worry about or bother with before, since consoles were was just plug & play!......Handhelds, however, offer a new dimension as to why buying a console is justified, since consoles are supposedly all about convenience and creativity, and handhelds can take that to the next level as proven by Nintendo......Nintendo were simply ahead of the curve! Handhelds were held back but the limitation of tech, such as heat dissipation, size-vs-power, wattage, power consumption and battery life. But now with the rising popularity of the ARM architecture, handhelds can finally become the main consoles!
I dont think xbox or Microsoft even wanted it to be 🤷♂️ it was always gonna a be multiplatform because exclusives mean nothing they are a Arbitrary word to use in a argument but the top played or sold games on either platform are not exclusives 🤷♂️
Honestly, I would prefer Microsoft Xbox to be making their own consoles from now and into the future, when the parent company makes the consoles it seems more personal. A third party manufacturer making the consoles would make it seem like Microsoft Xbox does not really care about the consoles business?
This whole time, I thought xbox wanted to be the netflix of gaming, when they actually want to be the android of gaming? It's interesting from a business standpoint. From a consumer standpoint....not so much.
Licensing out hardware is a bold strategy. It would honestly make Xbox consoles insanely cost-effective since there would be competition among manufacturers. the only question is can Xbox sustain an audience with this strategy. I can only imagine it’s going to cause a little bit of confusion in terms of people going to a store and asking to buy “the new Xbox”.
The question is: How many SKUs will there be ? It has been extensively reported that, Xbox will have a Handheld. Also, they have confirmed several times, that "Next gen, it will be the biggest leap in power" Xbox ever had, and that's not possible in Handheld format, so a regular home console like the series X for 500 $/€. And then a 3rd SKU open to 3rd party's for a much more expensive price tag, with some more power ?
So this new Xbox they're coming out with will be won't be around the PC type of level That's actually pretty interesting there it might be the pretty cheap the PC on the market if the cap is around $500 When this new xbox does come out but you have access to pc games also This new Xbox I'll be actually a pretty good thing there it might be the cheapest PC on the market If they actually go through this because it'll be around a console price But it's time to be PC
It sucks not getting a pc release of unicorn overlord but I looks great on switch so it don't matter ,that game should've been on game of the year nominee especially cuz I think it was better than astrobot lol
Microsoft know what we want and we know what they need to do but unfortunately I have a feeling they’ll half ass it. It’s one step forward and 2 steps back with Xbox these days. It’s like today’s Marvel cinematic universe. Just give the fans what they want!
On Xbox does something that I don't like I'm definitely going to voice my disappointment because I'm a Xbox fan I take the good with the bad but that doesn't mean I have to stay quiet about it and I don't care who gets mad about it I still love my Xbox I'm not going anywhere I can't wait for the new system hopefully they do put steam on Xbox The evil within does sting people could call me a kid all they want to or call me a brat but I don't care I just want the evil within three that's it then I would be happy and every time you bring up tango game works I'm going to say that I don't care who gives mad or gets angry I don't care because their opinion does not matter to me but Xbox is still my favorite system
I dig the plan. Software and subscription sales are king. No need to sell consoles at a loss any longer. Increase profitability and the ability to churn out games more quickly.
@SWOTHDRA Obviously no platform gets the amount of games the PC gets so it would be unfair to compare them to a console. Games like FNAF, Lethal Company, Phasmophobia, Hades, Baldur's Gate 3 and so on are all games that were available on PC far before Consoles got them if they ever get them at all and they are infinitely Backwards compatable while getting all the games from Playstation and Xbox and having emulation on top of that. In terms of games no console can get even close.
Sony should have made an Xbox version controller for Helldivers 2 and just ported that to the Xbox console and stop this flim flam with exclusives especially with online games. I just bought a PC and moved from Xbox because I wanted 60 frames 4k guaranteed. I think we had the wool pulled over are eyes with both Xbox and Sony this gen. I cant see the next Xbox being a similar price as this gen, it will be 700+ that for me is PC/Laptop territory.
If Sony was to keep their games off Xbox next gen console through Steam, only way I can see that happening is by Sony removing their games off Steam store. At the same time, if they do remove the games off Steam store, they would have a ton of angry PC players
That will be difficult if not impossible because Xbox will not be in direct competition with traditional consoles anymore. It won't be based on a console API or drivers, and the OS will basically be a branch of Windows. All MS have to say is this is not a console. It's a PC, and this argument is nothing more than a conflict of interest. This is exactly why MS wants to get rid of traditional consoles. And they should.
By including steam and epic game stores that's going to cut their own Xbox store profits in half or entirely as most of their games are available on PC too no one will buy from the store if you can buy from cheaper on the platform. And if the console isn't the most optimised way to play then why would i buy their consoles every again. The Xbox is essentially dead as they're pushing play anywhere on everything so the console itself has lost it's appeal. I like the traditional console experience but i don't think I'm buying their new offering.
Xbox is abandoning the console market and licensing out an Xbox OS, like their Windows OS, to other manufacturers that produce hardware, and the OS would obviously be based around Game Pass. Sounds like a nightmare waiting to happen. If people thought having two Series SKUs was a problem, just wait until the free for all of any manufacturer being able to license an OS and build their own box. To think that with all of Microsoft’s money, all their studios and all the IP they gobbled up, they aren’t capable of producing a console that generates excitement enough to compete with Nintendo and Sony. That’s just a failure of management. And Nintendo is set to break the record PS2 holds for most consoles sold ever, so I don’t wanna hear jack about the console market being stagnant. The problems Xbox faces are at the top of the food chain within Microsoft and Team Xbox.
I think microsoft will just collab with steam application so that it can run more games. That will give xbox the power to play alot of playstation games and developers cant skip over xbox because xbox users will still be able to play all the games regardless. Its super smart
By all accounts so far and as long as nothing changes, there is a new Xbox box console due, the same way MS' Surface line of products exist next to all the other Windows tablets/laptops.
There maybe a market for a PC-ified console but for me if this the path for Xbox then 4 generations of Xbox consoles may be the end for me. It sounds like PlayStation is planning on producing more systems that I am looking for.
If they just put windows with a shell or app like the rog ally I’ll drop Xbox. I have a rig ally and I replaced windows with bazitte. Windows was awful
So the Xbox console is dead and if it's not a hybrid PC like I been saying before all you guys, then it's really gonna die next gen... nobody wants a "more powerful" console we want a more versatile platform to play all games available... Microsoft wants to put all games everywhere then they should have prioritized bringing all games to Xbox like the hybrid console would.... If they had done this first they could have released every game every where after that and none of us would have cared... They missed out on what could have been meteoric growth and a true leap frog over Sony and Nintendo for market share but instead of innovating the hardware to accommodate all games and then releasing all their games multiplat would have been a much better "Strategy"
If xbox decides to go the route of a handheld S like version and a new premium console that can host steam and egs, there would be zero reason to get another console. All Xbox games day one for the price of admission of a sub, your Steam library including Sony games, they would dominate.
Just think of Android phones. Microsoft wants to do what Google did with android. Does Google make Android phones too? Sure they do. Does Samsung make Android phones? Sure they do. Does Motorola make Android phones?... You get the point, right?

Cope and seeth......
@SWOTHDRA Thanks for admitting that you are lol
If this happens and sony follows just imagine a manufacturer decides to give xbox os and playstation os together in a duel boot option for everyone! Definitely a win for the consumers ❤
@@nishantsahai2301 it would be cool, but i'm sure some licensing agreement would prevent that from happening.
Analysts say the next xbox won't exist.

Can't wait for Jay Shill's cope video when that happens.
I'm also just glad that someone other than Nintendo might finally be trying something new and innovative. Will it work? We will see...
@@SnooZeGamezZz fair point.. it certainly isn't as complicated as many people make it seem to be but consoles are easier to handle.
Honestly, being able to play Steam games on my console would be the only thing that can make me keep me buying xbox. If that doesnt happen, i'm going to PC or Playstation.

If you go to Playstation your games are gone.

Honestly when have you bots ever been excited for anything Playstation?
A $1000 "handheld" is all you're getting from them. Everything else is going to be OEM garbage.
After a very long time, start feeling hope for Xbox future
Yeah what I want is to build my own console, at a price I can choose.

The only metric that you're talking about is console sales.. Everything else they are top...
Next gen Xbox just being an Xbox branded pc at the price of a console would be sick
The original Xbox was just a PC disguised as a console. That's all that next Xbox needs to be.
Windows is not succesfull, but its sadly the default, for now. Linux and MacOs will overtake it soon. Android is already bigger I think.......or iOs
Lmao clown 🤡@SWOTHDRA
@SWOTHDRA 🤣😂🤣🤪😜Wow! You are delusional! Linux and Mac OS will overtake Windows? When? Have you been alive the last 40 years?
@SWOTHDRA You have to be trolling. Windows is definitely successful. You don't become the default by being a failure. You contradicted yourself in your own statement
@@twistedobsession3659 I hope it's trolling. No one can be that stupid. Then again...
Anyone remember when Mac was stuggling, and they licensed the OS to other manufacturers. Well the release was FAIL
IF Valve will do a deck-console-pc then MS trying to attack the same market makes sense. I also believe there is a market for such devices
Fingers crossed that the next xbox still has a physical drive
I’m with you since I still but physical games every now and then
@@Checkplease700 Same!
With X box I'm digital for PS I go Physical
I don't think it will have an optical drive, even this generation getting physical games for a Series X isn't always an option and when you can, more often than not it's just a licence to boot up the game. If it doesn't have a optical drive, this will be my last Xbox console. It's far easier to get physical games on the PS5.

Not so surprising there a computer software company in the long run make sense they would combine better.
The 3do had the same business strategy back in the day as Microsoft, that didn’t workout so well

As long as Xbox has a console, and game pass I am happy
All for an Asus powerhouse xbox
That would be cool I want that so bad to buy an Xbox and I could switch to PC go back and forth that would be so cool
That's a great strategy for Xbox.
That dude is making educated guesses... I said the same things.
Harrison Ford didn't voice Indy.
The new Doom game was never an Xbox exclusive because ID didnt want it to be.
I dont think xbox or Microsoft even wanted it to be 🤷♂️ it was always gonna a be multiplatform because exclusives mean nothing they are a Arbitrary word to use in a argument but the top played or sold games on either platform are not exclusives 🤷♂️
DOOM from 1993 onwards was on everything... Got it on SNES even
Can’t say I’m particularly excited
Nobody is, xbox is dead, this is microsoft gaming
Honestly, I would prefer Microsoft Xbox to be making their own consoles from now and into the future, when the parent company makes the consoles it seems more personal. A third party manufacturer making the consoles would make it seem like Microsoft Xbox does not really care about the consoles business?
So wait a minute I just thought about this.... Sony and Nintendo could make there own Xbox each
Xbox definitely needs to do something different. So if they go down this road, it would be perfect.
"Bold" is a very polite way of saying "stupid"
I've been waiting for microsoft to do something like this.
Xbox and ps are already pc wrapped up with plastic using custom operating systems
Take one look at the 3DO if you wanna see how stupid it is to license out consoles. Enjoy paying $300 more than you should for your console.
Who cares ms is making an official one lol and if 3ed party companies make Xbox’s too those companies need to pay ms to do so it’s a win win for ms
The question is:
How many SKUs will there be ?
It has been extensively reported that, Xbox will have a Handheld.
Also, they have confirmed several times, that "Next gen, it will be the biggest leap in power" Xbox ever had, and that's not possible in Handheld format, so a regular home console like the series X for 500 $/€.
And then a 3rd SKU open to 3rd party's for a much more expensive price tag, with some more power ?
Xbox 🎉 is awesome
You realise if Xbox licences out the Xbox OS that means they ARE leaving the console market. Devs bitch about 2 skus NOW
So this new Xbox they're coming out with will be won't be around the PC type of level That's actually pretty interesting there it might be the pretty cheap the PC on the market if the cap is around $500 When this new xbox does come out but you have access to pc games also This new Xbox I'll be actually a pretty good thing there it might be the cheapest PC on the market If they actually go through this because it'll be around a console price But it's time to be PC
Just make an Xbox handheld and I’m staying
Having too many xbox consoles made by different manufacturers will mean the games wont be optimized. Bad idea.
Lol
Like on PC? One banger after the other, right?
@SWOTHDRA Obviously no platform gets the amount of games the PC gets so it would be unfair to compare them to a console. Games like FNAF, Lethal Company, Phasmophobia, Hades, Baldur's Gate 3 and so on are all games that were available on PC far before Consoles got them if they ever get them at all and they are infinitely Backwards compatable while getting all the games from Playstation and Xbox and having emulation on top of that. In terms of games no console can get even close.
Xbox needs to focus on actually makin games, before they worry about its next hardware.
Sony will find a way to keep their PC games off Xbox. They didn't even want Spiderman DLC's on Xbox versions of Marvel games.
Even if they found a way to do that, it would be quickly circumvented.
@@spacemanjupiter Seeing from your point of view, you're right
Xbox will be next Sega, no doubt about it....
Cloud gaming technology is the future
I don't give a damn about playstation negativity,y'all continue the exploiting...

When you grow up and see that all these companies have anti consumer behaviours, all have money as their first priority, all use any business strategy to get more profit at the cost of the consumer all you can do is use their services play their games and get your enjoyment out of their entertainment stop acting like a child and they hurt you in some way.
Too late pale Xbox have no identity and here's why :
-The console is finished
-The handheld will not stand a chance
-Xcloud is pathetic compared to GeForce
-mobile app is under the mercy of Apple and google
- steam OS will butcher their OS and with Mac OS windows will bleed horribly
- Microsoft store is just pathetic as its executives
-
Xbox will continue to fail decline 😢😂
The console sales are the only thing that's declined 🤷♂️ sales and profit, games and studios all increased. 🤷♂️
LMAO! It's going to be hilarious when sony adopts the same strategy because they don't make enough money from console sales and you will be saying: "wow sony! what a smart strategy!! sony is genius!!" lol I can't wait!
Meanwhile analysts agree with you.
Ah, drinking again, i see?
Sad to see you guys like this
In terms of sales? No, Xbox consoles are pathetic this generation, and with most Xbox first party games launching on Switch 2 and/or PS5, i expect even worse. I won’t be surprised if it sells sells than 10-15m consoles.
Everything is an Xbox. My dishwasher is an Xbox
It may sell less but depends on what it does🤷♂️ exclusives mean nothing and haven't for a long time it's all about power and features, if the xbox is a PC hybrid / Steam machine it could sell. To say it will say 10/15 million that's 10/15 million customers that buy games/ subscriptions 🤷♂️ along side cloud, gamepass, PC and their games on Playstation/ Nintendo 🤷♂️. They will be making money hand over fist still.
@@kevinlist3330 PC hybrid? do u really think that MS would make a Console that can run every game at 4k 60 fps max settings+full RT at the current prize?they could but the console won't be 500$ but prop 1000$+ and even then i don't think they can achive that seens AMD is known for not been a good GPU with RT on and if any ofthat doesn't work where do u think they will put those new futures u are talking about?
@@christonchev9762 gotta love how you attack me like I'm in the Microsoft office and know I'm just speculating from the information my comment reads "depends on what it does" so do I think it could be a $1000 machine yes which will put some off but gamers buy expensive stuff its an expensive hobby and even if 10/15 million people buy this $1000 machine like I said that's up to 10/15 million people on gamepass , 10/15 million buying games 🤷♂️ will it be 4k 60fps nope, I've been saying for a long time the industry is gonna standardise 30fps again these machines/ and developers even new ones can't do 4k 60fps for that it would cost more than $1000. We have to see what happens but the reality is Xbox isn't gone from the console market will this be their last maybe, will it sell less possibly, but they will earn a lot of money in the meantime 🤷♂️ remember just like windows , gamepass is their focus anywhere gamepass exists 🤷♂️
“Exclusives means nothing and is all about power and features”
Are you sure about that? Nintendo Switch, the weakest console of the generation, with barely no features but more exclusives than PS and Xbox combined, is on the way to become the best selling console ever.
First today
the only way this would work if they removed the scam multiplayer paywall
