Really wished you guys would somehow integrate that (dub-tail fixture?) design to your cranks & axle. Maybe an odd number for a two bolt clamp down. Never really trusted the spline design for any type of weight distribution, those are just made for belt drives.
@@Thatblackz28 nope profile/madera are going to have higher qc than wtp/eclat which are coming out of a factory in taipan that probably makes parts for 3 other brands. all taiwan parts are just cookie cutter bs picked out of a catalog. Anyways, even if they both made an identical product, you should still support companies that make an extreme effort to employ americans and keep business stateside. profile could easily move production over to taiwan and it would be half as expensive. That's the easy route. Putting up with all the expenses involved with employing americans for the sole purpose of supporting your own economy and community is commendable. It's really sad that there are people who don't value the importance of trying to keep work inside your country instead of outsourcing to some factory overseas. I'm not even american and I think its stupid to not want to endorse product made in your own country.
@@AMM1998 that’s Nationalist train of thought. I’ve seen S&M frames with welds worse than what I can do. Little Ming Ling can weld my frames any day if they’re better than the stuff I’ve seen on some American made frames. You act like just because China/Taiwan/Japan have some cheap things they don’t know how to make high end stuff either, and you couldn’t be further from the truth. Why do you think Japanese swords, beef, and hella other products from Asian countries are sold here at a higher premium than their American counterparts.
Profile and S&M are about the only companies still doing American made BMX stuff. Support both if you can.
I love that they still make quill stems! Probably only enough to keep a shelf stocked, but that's enough for me.
The o/s bmx sector is still in full swing and half of the old dk mini stems are cracked, bent or stripped!
I'm a machinist and I've always wondered what the set up for a stem was like in a CNC Mill. Awesome vid!
Loooove this! Show more manufacturing tours
So awesome buying one right now, what a privledged problem I dont know what color to get lol polished or flat black
Machining and welding are so badass 😍
Always great to see behind the scenes and appreciate all the work that goes into each component.
teamweed gonna love this
What schooling do i need to go to to work with these type of machines?
look up a trade school possibly your local community college , CNC machinist
Much love for Profile Racing!
Profile racing = felicidad 🤘🏼
I think they do tours at Profile so you see how the operation works. If you're ever in St. Pete.
This reminds me of a Reading Rainbow or Mr. Rogers segment. kewl.
Do you make any kind of thermal treatment to the material?
thats what I was thinking....but since its probably 6061 t6.....no need....its already hard
Love this!

Dove-tail, commonly used in wood working. Very strong and simple joint
I’d like to see how grips and pedals are made 🤔🙂
They have a vid on grips
@@dabington thanks! Didn’t even know 😅. Will check it out
There's a video somewhere filmed at the ODI factory.
Ooooh!
show us the design process
how about the cheaper stems?
Top
🤟🤟
I wonder what they do with all the wasted aluminum? They probably recycle it.
Aluminium chips/ swarf is compacted and sent off for re-smelting to recycle the material into raw materials again
Do a big machine does everything.
I just cracked my top lid to my mast stem no one supply me spare part very disappointed
pretty simple program....
Support American made BMX.
You said that like American parts are some how superior to other countries of origin...
Support your local Bike Shop.
@@buffetline2605 that’s a little better cause WTP/Eclat are right on par with anything Profile, S&M, Fit, etc are putting out.
